I bought this PS 3 version based on the excellent reviews. First I want to thank you all for giving the pluses and minuses. Now first let me say that although I have played PC games since Adventure (those that know will tell you it was first or certainly one of very few that started PC gaming). That said I'm not a young player, probably one of the oldest. I went into this game because I love Westerns, especially the old Spaghetti Westerns. I wasn't disappointed. Oh my! this is the best game I've played in like 20 years. reminds me of nothing I've played and everything good I've played like Ocarina Zelda. If you're looking for a western video game meets fun adventure open world horse riding game this is it. I pray Rockstar makes another. this is absolute amazing. 10 stars out of 10. I bought this game on sale cheap. I feel it was a great buy since it's funner than I thought it'd be. I don't play many games, and only play during the winter due to being a grown up with a full time job.So, I like this game in that it's not so fast pace like some other games out there. You can choose to follow the good life and work around the ranch shooting varmits, learning to ride a horse, roping/herding cattle, and taking care of business with bad fellows. Then after you earn some money from that stuff and hunting game on the range you can buy a pad in town. From there take a job as the bounty hunter you are by yourself or helping the local sheriff. In the end you're trying to get revenge on your old gang's leader for trying to kill you, leaving you for dead, from the beginning of the game. If you accidently shoot a good guy, a bounty is placed on you and every one comes after you, you can shoot your way out of it and sometimes pay off the fine if your crime wasn't too bad or continue to be an outlaw, your choice.

Bought this for 29.99 during the Black Friday 2011 week. I was skeptical initially whether the wild west theme and the the whole game is just a gimmick to offer something new to the GTA crowd, but after a few hours of playing it, I discovered RDR is really deserving the Game of the Year recognition. It is even better than GTA IV in the following aspects:1) free play is better, due to the challenges and vastness of the playing field (weve come a long way indeed from San Fierro, Las Venturas, et al).2) the DLC contents are worthwhile additions (and they are already included in this GOTY edition).3) potential game hours could be very long, and there are more mission variety. you wont notice 6 hours has passed.4) hardcore option offers truly more challenging missions.5) ... MoreBought this for 29.99 during the Black Friday 2011 week. For me, it feels something like Bully, a Rockstar classic game, except it's in the wild west & no kissing with girls. I struggled early on with the game, couldn't get the hang of riding horses until much later & gun duels I didn't get good at until I read from online forum posts and after I actually finished the main storyline. It's a wonder I could ever get through it.But somehow, I actually enjoyed it and got addicted to it. It's not as strong as Rockstar's main game series, Grand Theft Auto, but it certainly has it's charms despite the flaws. Hunting animals, gathering herbs, bounty hunting, treasure searching and then selling them is the game strongest selling point. Like playing Blackjack, a mini-game available in the game, I actually got addicted to it eventhough I only made a few in-game bucks from it. That's one example. Other things such as the unique encounters made the game feel like you're really in the wild west - it can get annoyingly repetitive sometimes but you can choose to ignore it.And that's only the main game - Undead Nightmare, the included companion single-player game, literally changed the wild west upside down and for me, unfortunately, it wasn't enjoyable.In Undead Nightmare, the wild west is littered with zombies, insane folks and silly jokes.

Love that both the regular game and zombie version is all included. Has a poker player slicky willy suit add on too. I think the controls on it was better on the xbox but either way I LOVE this game. In some ways the original was better but this ones superior. The original one felt like a Clint Eastwood Man with No Name movie and you got to play it. They even used the same music composer from those movies too. This one you can hunt animals, plants and people. Sell whatever you picked or hunted found. Buy housing or rent it out. Go do bounty hunter missions on the side, play games like Texas Hold Em and many other mini games. Even that knife game in the movie Aliens where you try not to stick yourself with a knife, and do a few side missions for other locals. I saw one guys review on how he had to chase chickens or something. Ummmm you have to help out this family who saved your ass from a bounty hunt gone wrong. From there you can stay and finish out that part of the games story line or go off and explore other towns and do s*** there too. Pull on your denim, oil up your six shooter and shine your spur's and prepare to get the boot of the man off your neck and protect what's yours. Even if you aren't a cowboy or a desperado and just looking for a great and different actionadventure gaming experience, then I'd recommend trying this out. Listed as. New but refurbished

Although I wanted a red case from the Greatest hits collection and it was listed as Brand new, and it was refurbished. Although I didn't want the game and just wanted the case. It came in a standard clear case and looks fairly new, no scratches no cracks so I will use it for a game case for my other games as a replacement case. I prefer the all red case but this will do . Their packaging is perfect and in a cardboard game box that protects it during shipping. I didn't like the bubble mailers like other sellers use
