1907s finally got me!
A local Red Wing store opened a few months ago here...i have waited and waited for either the Iron Rangers or a heritage moc to come in in my size (14 wide in most shoes) Eric, the store manager here was awesome and educated me on the lasts and what I'd need. A 14 is a unicorn... but I learned that a Iron Ranger or the 1907 would fit me in a 13.Well, both came in...this week and I couldn't wait for Saturday to come so I could get in and try them on.The Iron Rangers fit like a glove... with absolutely no discomfort at all... but I'm used to jump boots from the Army. They were in Copper RT too....man it was hard to not buy them.My family all liked the 1907s better...and since I told my wife 'you're going to see a lot these boots' I decided to get the 1907s and ... The 1907s had a little heel slip, until the heel counter wears in...so we swapped out to longer leather laces, the ankle wrap, and now I definitely don't have any heel slip, but I do have to pay the price and break in the uppers. The foot itself is fine. Not the comfort of the Iron Ranger (to me) right now but I'm sure they will become well loved in time.My wife looked at every leather in the store and said the Copper R+T was her pick. I totally agree. Of course, in time they will become much darker but that's a few treatments down the road minimum. So these 1907s are easy to wear and no real issues. Wife loves them, and I'm super happy to clear out a lot of inferior, old, not perfect, or just plain wrong boot and shoes in my closet. Gonna donate everything but my Harley riding boots and I might keep my Keen Tarhee 2 hikers for the really rough stuff. Can't wait to see how they look and feel in a few years.... Show more

Best ever
These boots are phenomenal. Comfortable, warm, waterproof, stylish. I wore redwing sawmills for five years and this, with the poron liner, feels like a natural transition. I am an 11 d brannock, the 11 in this model works perfectly as it did in the sawmills. It should be noted that I prefer to wear thinner athletic/lifestyle socks so if you want to wear thick winter socks it may be a bit snug true to size with the gore tex liner. That said they are very warm so I wouldn’t imagine needing a thick sock. Russet Taos is a brilliant color, almost blending oxblood with an burnt orange. Very versatile, it pops and blends great. I’ve honestly never worn a more comfortable pair of boots. I played hockey my whole life and these definitely have that “wiggle your toes and your ... MoreThese boots are phenomenal. Strong heel counter/crepe soul gives stability and the metatarsal pad on the boot insert is best arch support man could ask for. Your back, knees and feet will thank you. And I, thank you Redwing, that’s a win. Let’s go.... Show more

Buyer Beware (Not for reasons you may think)
Don't get me wrong, these are absolutely amazing quality boots and I love mine. Look, fit, feel, quality...all amazing. HOWEVER, as a buyer you deserve to know there is a cost of ownership in these that can be frustrating! I purchased my 1907 Moc Toe's in January of 2019 and wore them often. I noticed within about 6 months that the wedge sole was wearing quicker than I had thought it would. In the summer of 2020 I had to send them into Red Wing to get resoled. That process (which involves paying $100+ and having them shipped back to Minnesota to be done) took about 3 months, of which my local retailer cited the pandemic as the reason for the length of time. I got them back in the late fall of 2020 and continue to wear them on sole #2. Fast forward to April of 2023 ... MoreDon't get me wrong, these are absolutely amazing quality boots and I love mine. Not wanting to go through the process again I let the sole wear go a lot longer this time to where they were down to about a 1/4" thick in spots! Here it is almost August and I STILL do not have my boots back. I also was just told the resole process is limited to only 3x so it looks like a new pair of boots @ $300+ now are on the horizon for me.... Show more

Great Edition of the Classic Moc
Upon seeing this edition with the fairly unique Alpine green leather and black traction tread sole I knew I needed a pair. They look as good in person as the photos here on Red Wing Heritage. The fit is similar to almost all Classic Mocs but keep in mind these are built on the number 23 last versus the Rough and Tough version built on the 45 last. The 45 last has a much bigger toe box- both width and height. So these should break in quickly but from the start I found them comfortable as soon as some moisture from my feet got into the leather and started the conforming process. They look cool and should provide years of wear. Red Wind includes both taslan and leather laces. I always add a footbed and in this case I use the leather footbed (96356) because it's ... Overall a really great edition of the Classic Moc.... Show more

Great Moc-toe Heritage
Absolutely the best heritage boots in both material and craftsmanship. I bought 2 pairs in sizes 8D and 8.5D because I want to make sure I got fitted correctly. I must say when I first opened the box I was impressed by its quality and workmanship. The leather is full grain and very substantial. It is fairly stiff because these boots are built to last a long time. I inspected the workmanship and couldn't find any flaws. They are perfect. I have always wanted a pair of Redwing mocs but just didn't care about the white soles. To me white sole shoes are like white sidewall tires and I just don't care for it. I even considered buying the regular Redwing heritage and then have it resoled with black soles. These new Redwing mocs with black soles are just the right ones I ... These new Redwing mocs with black soles are just the right ones I was looking for.I normally wear a size 9D and after researching that Redwing mocs are sized bigger than my regular snicker size, I ordered 8 and 8.5 to see which one fits me better. I kept the size 8 and returned the 8.5.I would have given a 5 star to this Redwing moc if it comes with wider sizes. The regular mocs have regular D and wider E sizes, but perhaps this model being a new line, Redwing is currently limiting it to normal size D only. After wearing the D size for a while now, while there is ample room in the toe-box, but I do feel it a bit tight on the vamp. Perhaps Redwing would come out with a "E" size later when their production has caught up.All in all, a great addition to Redwing's great line of heritage boots. With the black sole, I'm quite livid and can vouch for its quality and workmanship.... Show more

Great shoes for my feet, not so good for the heels
I have been having some issue with my feet for a while and I feel sure it’s from wearing cheaply made imported boots. So, I decided to bite the bullet and spend a few extra bucks for something well made here in the USA.This is the first pair of Red Wing boots I have owned that are actually branded as Red Wing. Back in my lineman days, I have worn many pairs of Hall line boots which were manufactured by Red Wing at that time, and they were always comfortable and long-lasting boots. With that said, these Red Wing boots I purchased are no doubt the best made boots you will ever find. I have short stubby Fred Flintstone feet 8EE. These boots feel absolutely great on my feet. However, this past weekend I decided to wear them for the first time to start breaking them ... I have short stubby Fred Flintstone feet 8EE. These boots feel absolutely great on my feet. However, this past weekend I decided to wear them for the first time to start breaking them in. I had dropped my wife off at an appointment and went to do some shopping while waiting on her. I was only gone for about an hour. By the time I got back to where I had dropped her off, I could hardly walk as the heels of both feet were completely raw from where the back of the boots had rub against my heels. I had worn thick heel athletic socks knowing the boots would be somewhat uncomfortable while breaking them in but the pain I experienced was unreal. My heals were rubbed so raw that there was some small amount of blood that seeped through my socks onto the back of the boots. The issue is with the piece of leather sown into the back heel portion of the boot. It is a rough piece of leather. This piece of leather should always have a smooth finished like the two pieces sown on the left and right insides of each boot. You can see the obvious difference in the leather sown into the heel vs that of the sides. The rough finished leather in the heel grabs your socks and rubs up and down the back of your heel every step you take. It’s like having a piece of 60 grit sandpaper on your heel. I know eventually the lather will smooth out, but these boots should have never been manufactured like this. For now, I have added some heel guards, which I hope help along with wearing thick socks and Band-Aids will allow me to finish breaking them in.I give Red Wing 4 stars for the overall rating but only 3 for the craftsmanship. It would have been 5 stars all the way except the heel reinforcement leather not having a smooth finish.... Show more

Just a great boot. Period.
This boot just arrived and I couldn't be happier. Like all well-built boots in this category there will be a break-in period, but I have to say that right out of the box, they were pretty good. I am a 10.5 sneaker, with a moderately high arch and normal width foot. I went 10D and that is where I need to be. The fit and finish of the boot is absolute quality. The leather and unique single piece heal construction drove my decision and WOW is it great looking. Love the support of the 8 inch for days in rougher terrain and for rolling pant legs to keep the wet grass from wicking up my pant legs in the morning. One thing that is a personal preference: I like the eyelets to the top, not speed hooks. I can loosen the top around camp and not have the laces all fall off, I ... I can loosen the top around camp and not have the laces all fall off, I find eyelets more secure and I never have laces drop out like can happen with hooks, and finally, eyelets don't snag on things, collect long grass and weeds, or chafe the inside of my expensive foul-weather gear. I don't mind the tradeoff of an additional 60 seconds to tie my boots.... Show more

My go to rain boot for the last year or so!
Let me start by saying that I only wear these when it’s raining/snowing.I purchased them when they first released. I own several pairs of RW boots including a few storm welted boots to include the Sawmills (Which also get worn in wet/cold), which leather is not treated for water repellency so I tend not to wear them as often in the wet. These boots get treated and clean often and I make sure the water repellant coating is redone often. So mine still have the red coloration as when they were new.I have not had any issues with these boots so far. I will say the lining is NOT as comfortable as the one in the Sawmills. It’s a little more plastic feeling (Which it is since GoreTex is a polymer) and also makes the feet a bit more moist (Despite the fact that GoreTex ... It’s a little more plastic feeling (Which it is since GoreTex is a polymer) and also makes the feet a bit more moist (Despite the fact that GoreTex is supposed to vent sweat). With the proper socks (Merino Wool) these boots are very comfortable. As far as the issues some are posted here:1. The tongue cutting. I personally have NOT had this issue. I got these last year and I took them for a long day walk on a raining NYE around DC for a break-in. I had zero issues. They were comfortable out the box. I am not sure if that is associated with some folks not being used to wearing boots or waiting for the proper break in period.2. Poron layer Shifting: I own several boots with a Poron layer. These, 1155, 2231, 2233, the later three which have an exposed Poron layer. Poron is really durable and in none of these boots it has come undone, or shifted. The 2233 are very old and have had a few resoles and they are one of my favorite work boots. My lady also has several pairs of lady RW heritage boots, all of which have a Poron layer and she has not had any issues and she rotates a couple of chelsea and a couple of moc toes. The chelsea are her favorite.I understand that defect can and will happen. I also understand paying 350+ for boots and wanting a perfect pair. But there is a middle ground. It is difficult to find labour these days and craftsmanship has declined slightly over the last few decades. RW tries really hard to keep a high level of quality control, but those finding defects are still human and things will happen.RW Heritage, for the money, still makes exceptional boots in the line. I still highly recommend them.... Show more

My new favorite Redwings

In my opinion, speed hooks should be standard from Redwing! It would be interesting to see a darker sole on some of the other moc toes… not sure what color would look good on the copper rough and toughs. Maybe I’ll buy a pair and experiment… after I get my Iron Rangers back from the cobbler get new Vibram 100 with leather midsoles and stacked heels! Thanks Redwing, keep up the good work and God bless America!... The Entry Boot for the Amature
I had gotten into boots through social media and mainly watching YouTubers like Rose Anvil. There was a video where he cut apart an 875 and I was hooked. I had never owned a pair of boots before so I had read it was best to go into a store to at least get sizing. I asked the worker if they had any heritage-style boots in stock. They had the 10875 in my size!Overall, for the price of $289, it is a hard bargain. Yes, were there probably better beginner boots for me to try like Thorogood, Danner, etc. But I have not been happier with these. I do not work in a setting where these are needed, but I can wear them all day without feeling like I need to give them a break.Warning though, these boots are a beach to break in. I had to give myself at least a day in between wears just to give my shins a break. It was only about 2 weeks before I felt like the boots were broken in enough for me to wear them more than 4-6 hours. Also I have a pretty narrow foot, not enough to get a more narrow boot, but I have found that "D" is still a little snug around the pinky toe some days.Long story short, for the money they are a great entry into the boot world, and I personally like the darker leather over the lighter Oro Legacy in the normal 875s!...
