The REDARC BCDC1250D is a 12V, 50A In-vehicle DC to DC Battery Charger designed to keep your auxiliary battery charged when driving or with portable solar panels when parked. It uses multi-stage DC-DC charging, a system that allows optimum charging levels for your auxiliary battery. The BCDC1250D has been developed to provide a higher current output, it features an additional charging stage known as SoftStart which has been engineered so that it can handle more demanding applications. Featuring a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, the BCDC1250D will charge from both solar and the alternator simultaneously. And, with built-in Green Power Priority it will select solar charging first, meaning less load on the alternator. This battery charger works a treat. It allows my primary battery to charge my lithium battery and the lithium runs my fridge etc without draining my primary battery. It also allows both batteries to be charge by the solar panel when camping. Great product!

Have had one of these in my ute as part of a dual battery system connected with solar. It has never missed a beat after 18months or so and still going strong. Highly recommended product.

This is actually my second 50amp redarc DC to. DC charger. My previous 4x4 had one also. I absolutely swear by them and wouldn't use anything else. Set and forget reliability.
The unit works, hopefully has the current rating as stipulated. Solar input is not efficient with 15 amps in at 19 volts and only putting out 10 amps at 12 volts. Used with 300 watts of solar, 400 amphour battery bank. Easy to install an outback good to deal with.
Autobarn always have sales on and I managed to get this at a bargain price. Redarc are one of the best and trusted brands out there and if you get it fitted by a Redarc dealer you get an extra 1 year warranty thrown in (over and above the 2 year warranty)
