The REDARC BCDC1225D In-vehicle Battery Charger is the next generation in REDARC's DC to DC charging technology, with additional features that make it the most advanced dual battery charger on the market. Featuring a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, the BCDC1225D will charge from both solar and the alternator simultaneously. And, with built-in 'Green Power Priority' it will select solar charging first, meaning less load on the alternator. Suitable for 12 or 24-volt vehicle systems, the unit will also work with either standard or variable/smart alternators. I am using this coupled with an 85w solar panel on the hood of my rig. I love how this unit prioritizes the solar panel over the vehicles alternator. Pretty straight forward installation. Also this unit is super small and automatic, so far so good.
Got everything installed and so far all is great - solar charging working well, gauge added and working well. Instructions were straight forward and as long as you plan the location well then all should be good.

Previously have just been running a second battery charged via 240 when at caravan parks. Last trip this failed as the extension cord died, did not notice till it was too late. So purchased the BDCD as a better solution with the 240v as a backup now.I Installed in the boot of my Ford Territory on a removable battery box (1x anderson for connection to car + 1x 2pin small connector for light on dash + future trigger wire if required on future car)Works a treat. Had my fridge running for the last 2 weeks as a test, and even just short runs to shops each day, has kept the 140amp/hr battery topped up.Will be a great addition to our next trip away, knowing the battery will be kept topped up. Also great that this product is designed and built in Australia.
Very happy with the operating. I already had another brand which failed after 12 years so this time I went for Redarc. My only complaint was that the Redarc is hard wired so it wasn't just "plug and play".
Great DC-DC charger for Lithium battery, keeps high rate charge till battery full. Had the earlier version in previous 4x4 for 8 years & never missed a beat. Might seem slightly expensive but will last for many carefree years keeping your dual batteries charged.
Installed the Tow Pro Elite on my 2011 Tacoma TRD Sport. My truck came with the factory tow package so I decided to get the plug and play harness. Very comprehensive kit and install was a breeze. Fit and finish is unmatched and can be removed with out a trace of ever having been installed. Would absolutely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a brake controller.
I have had my unit for a couple of months now and I love it. It's been bullet proof and I've never had an issue to date. I may look at a better battery monitoring system to understand how my charge is managed and where is stands at any moment. I'd highly recommend.
Very simple to wire up and works well, small form factor and can be mounted just about anywhere. Its not cheap but cheaper than buying the two victon devices you would need for an alternative setup. Very well built Australian technology.
great product and works very well, i have several redarc products installed in my car and when i decided to upgrade my 2nd battery management system i thought i would go with redarc. This product has not disappointed and has done a brilliant job to maintain all the power needs we have in our car. highly recommended
