I recently bleached my hair and typically my hair does well but this time around it really damaged my hair. I found this shampoo at a local hair salon and thought why not. When I tell you I was so close to chopping off all my hair at this point and this shampoo changed the game for me. It honestly makes such a difference. It doesn’t make my colour fade, HYDRATES my hair and trust me my hair needs it. After using it for a few month, I couldnt imagine using anything else. I’ve recommended it to some friends who’ve also dyed their hair and they love it as well!

I rarely ever review any products but feel the need to review this and share my experience. I purchased this along with the Redken conditioner to match and began using it in the spring of this year. At the same time I was going back to school and had a couple life changes happening. My hair is thin and fine and to my horror I began losing massive amounts of hair in the shower and when brushing my hair. I was mortified! I have never had something like this happen to me before. This shampoo may be great for some people, but be cautious because for me, it was the worst!!

Counterfeit Shampoo received

The product I recv'd was a counterfeit. it smelled like cheap men's cologne, it felt awful on my hair, and the packaging was not normal. By that, I mean that there was a hard plastic shrink-wrapped around the top that was near impossible to open and when I did, it actually cut me. then there was a disk inside the top that had a little pull tab. Well, it was glued down so that the tab ripped and it took me 5 minutes using my teeth, scissors, fingers, a pen... to get it open. What a struggle to finally have it open and be happy to finally use a nice $32 bottle of Redken, to preserve my hair color, only to find it to be nauseating. Bummer. wrote to seller and will update review if they are responsive, to be fair.

It's worth it..here's why.

My hair type is very long, thick, and dry. I've had my hair colored for over 8 years, and have used heat tools on my hair at least twice a week since then. I noticed that the drugstore shampoos I have tried never really did anything for my hair, so I thought I would try a higher quality product. I first tried Olaplex, which left my hair in a worse state than I started. Feeling hopeless, and out of shampoo, I picked up a travel size of Redken color last just to give it a try. Turned out that this shampoo has improved my hair on every level. It's softer, shinier, and holds curls better too! It is so great for people who have dry ends but oily roots. Life changing!

I have naturally very dark hair, which I had black box dye on. I recently went to a new stylist (absolutely love her) and she transformed my hair into the perfect dimensional "bronde" that truly is stunning and suits me perfectly. She did an amazing job of preserving my hair health all things considered, and I did not lose any length other than a quick trim and fixing up my layers but I had noticed that my hair was just a little more dry and tangly than it usually is, and I was using the Redken Extreme Length set, which is still amazing but after using the color magnetic I am HOOKED. First of all, this smells absolutely amazing, like if they made a perfume of this scent I would buy it in a heartbeat. I use the Color magnetics shampoo, conditioner, and One United leave in with the olaplex #7 bonding oil and I have truly never been happier! BUY IT!!!

My Experience After 1Year Use

I switched from Pureology hydrate shampoo/conditioner to Redken Color Extend Magnetics because the Pureology was "too hydrating" for me in the summer. I would need to wash my hair every day and it still felt heavy by the end of the day. Like many folks who color & highlight, my hair is much dryer at the ends. With Redken I only need to wash hair every 3 days. I apply a bit of Bb hairdresser's oil from mid-shaft to ends and I have the perfect level of cleaning/hydration.I have had no problem with hair loss, but I have thick medium texture straight hair, so it would take a lot of loss before I noticed. No problem with hair tangling either as some others have posted, as long as I use the conditioner in generous amounts. Not for all hair types

I was a little hesitant to use this shampoo after seeing all the reviews about it drying out people's hair and having it fall out. However, I colored my hair red and wanted it to last, and after talking to an employee in store I decided to give it a shot.Unfortunately, all of my concerns came true. this dried my hair out horribly, my hair has never felt worse. Definitely increased the amount breakage/shedding I had, and worse of all, it didn't help keep the color in my hair AT ALL!My hair is on the finer side, so made that's the problem? Not sure. But I will not be repurchasing.

Noticed Results After One Use

I have chemically treated platinum blonde hair. I wanted to try out a new shampoo. Noticed results right after I used this shampoo and conditioner once. Usually my hair looks a little dull while wet, but after using this my hair was so vibrant and shiny even while it was still wet. Definitely made my platinum blonde look more vibrant. It softened my hair up and made it shiny when it dried. Scent is nice, a very clean fresh scent. Will continue to use!

best color-preserving shampoo for fantasy colors
