Best black rinse ever!
I ordered it, because my beautician informed me this is what she be using in my hair. Instead of me paying her $30.00 to do it, I can do it myself lol Soooooooooooo! It's a great rinse, and I can tell it's going to last a few weeks which is perfect. It's easy to mix with the PROCESSING SOLUTION, and as long as you follow directions and use the 1:1 ratio you'll be just fine. It's kind of watery not thick like MOST hair rinse, and it goes on so smooth. It has no smell, and it do stain. So make sure you have some dye remover to remove the stain around your edges as well. For the price you can't beat it, and you'll be able to do a good 2 black rinse on short hair out of one bottle. THAT IS A STEAL! Best toner I've used
I\'m in the 9\'s and 10\'s in blonde shades. I love to mix and match the shades to get whatever blonde I\'m looking for at the moment. Sometimes I want more beige, so I\'ll go for the Ns or NBs. Sometimes I want more white, so I\'ll go for the Ps. Sometimes I need to tone out yellows and oranges, so I go for the Ts, Bs, and Vs. But it\'s all about balance and mixing these gives me exactly what I\'m looking for. Not only do the shades look good, but because of the acidic formula, my hair quality is still good after toning - and it gives me some shine too.... Show more

Great glossy color
I use this color in 9V as a toner for my blond hair. It leaves my hair soft and glossy with no damage whatsoever. It does leave it a little dry so it's necessary to use a very hydrating conditioner afterward, but other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about it. 9V has a violet base which neutralizes overly golden tones that inevitably creep into my heavily highlighted hair about a month after I have the color done, probably because of the minerals in the Florida water. It's nice that I can do the toner myself and not have to pay for an expensive salon appointment (my colorist uses the same darn thing). I only leave the color on for 5 minutes, which is just long enough to tone the overly golden tones without losing the highlights themselves. I've also ... I've also mixed 9V with 9NB when I want a more neutral result. Either way Shades EQ works great and I recommend it highly. Nothing could be easier. It's a professional salon product that delivers salon quality results that lasts 15-20 shampoos (as long as you use a sulfate free formula) What could be better than that? I highly recommend SEQ. It's an exceptional color product I've used for years.... Show more

Great product just out of date.....still usable though!!
I realize this is a product used by professionals and technically not supposed to be available to non-licensed people but I wish Sleek Shop would at least be up front that the product they are selling is left overs from salons that didn\'t use them up in time. They still work but not as great as if they were within the use by time frame. I was a licensed Cosmetologist in Massachusetts but moved away and unfortunately let that license lapse so I am stuck buying professional quality products from sites like this. And for that I am grateful, believe me it beat anything from Sally\'s (not that they don\'t have some good stuff also) and I would be lost without sites like this providing a home for the leftovers from professional salons. Just be honest about it is all I\'m ... I mix 6N and 5N for my perfect natural Hair color
I love Redken EQ shades. My mother is a hair dresser and uses these colors and tones all the time. I usually mix the 6N and 5N for a perfect natural medium brown color and it usually lasts about 15 washes. It also makes my hair shiny and glossy. Definitely a salon looking color. I also mix it with redken 10 volume for a more lasting color (redken is converting to the 10Volume instead of the processing solution). Use 1 part color to 1 part 10 volume. I highly recommend this product, you wont be disappointed. FYI, this color does NOT cover gray hair (only for a few washes). You should use Matrix Socolor coverage or a permanent color.... Show more

Long lasting color and high shine!
First off I'd like to state that for a gloss, the lasting power is incredible. The color lasted longer than some permanent dyes I have used. Now, for the rest of my review...Revlon Shades EQ will likely be the ONLY dye I will use on my hair from here on out. The consistency is a thin, watery and almost gel-like which makes distributing the product very easy. I'm a big fan of mixing colors to create more dimensional hair colors, and shades EQ is perfect for that. My current color is a mix of 3RV and 3RV which indoors appears to be a very rich and sultry brunette, but outdoors gleams and reflects luxurious shades of red and hints of violet. As previously stated, the color lasts a very long time (6 to 8 weeks). I found the gloss to be non-damaging, very conditioning ... As previously stated, the color lasts a very long time (6 to 8 weeks). I found the gloss to be non-damaging, very conditioning and it delivers a shine that leaves your looking incredibly healthy. This color gloss IS suitable for extensions, I used 2 bottles total of the color gloss to dye my Bellami extensions. The color gloss didnt do any damage to my extensions and actually left them feeling healthier (which may have to do with olaplex) and restored the original shine that they had when I first purchased them.If you've ever used the L'oreal Preference dyes from Sally's, I find those to be an adequate dupe and is what I used previously, however Shades EQ is significantly more conditioning and less than damaging then the L'oreal dye and in my experience lasts much longer. Shades EQ is a little more pricey, but in my opinion worth the price difference. Each bottle is 2oz and meant to be used in a 1:1 ratio with the processing solution. My hair is past collarbone length and VERY thick, and I needed 3oz total (1 1/2 bottles) of the color gloss, which i mixed with 3oz of processing solution. I used a mixing bowl and standard tint brush to apply, however because of the consistency of the product I do believe that even application of the gloss can be easily achieved with an applicator bottle as well.I did use Olaplex in my color formula and post gloss i followed up with the two step Aphogee treatment and use Joico K-Pak shampoo and conditioner, Healthy Sexy Hair leave in conditioner and coconut oil after every washing. I find this combination of products to be best for my hair and recommend this regimen in addition to using Redken Shades EQ.The only cons to this product are that it does still smell like hair dye even though its a gloss (so open your windows during application), and it does stain clothing so do not wear light colored clothing when hair is wet after the first two or three times of washing hair after application, and of course don't wear clothes you care about while applying the product.... Love shades eq, easy to mix, easy to apply
Shades eq is one of the best temporary toners. This is what my colorist uses on me, and the results are always wonderful. I have a balayage done that gets very brassy, with orange as my underlying pigment. I used 7p, 9n, 9v, 9p all together with equal parts clear and processing solution to get an icy, cool toned blonde. I usually process for the full 20 min. My only issue with shades is that is doesn't last long, maybe 5-7 shampoos for me. Sleekshop has authentic products at a great price... Show more

The most horrible thing I have ever come across!
To Whom It May Concern,I would like to start off by saying that about 4 weeks ago, I went to a salon and paid 170$ to get a gorgeous, red dye job. I loved it, but knew that red fades quickly, and so acknowledged that I would have to tone and shine and seal it between dyeing. About 2 weeks later, I touched it up for the first time, as I noticed some areas were fading. I had a professional use Redken to tone the red back in, and ended up with a horrible color that I could only describe as "shit brown". I was very upset, and after waiting a day I dyed it using a cheap hair dye from Sally's, which brought it back to my beautiful red. A week or so later, I decided to give Redken another chance, deciding that it must have been a poor choice of toner by the stylist, and ... I was very upset, and after waiting a day I dyed it using a cheap hair dye from Sally's, which brought it back to my beautiful red. A week or so later, I decided to give Redken another chance, deciding that it must have been a poor choice of toner by the stylist, and that I perhaps had not asked for a bright enough red. I went to another place, and, with the help of another, well-respected, licensed stylist, got the reddist red Redken toners had. I followed the directions 100%, and once again ended up with SHIT BROWN HAIR! Did I also mention the horrible, chemical smell my hair has now from the supposed "toner", that I have never experienced with any other brand EVER?! Now I have to wait, wash and strip my hair, and apply the cheap dye again. In the meantime, I get to smell like chemicals all day and have a hair color that I hate. Redken "toner" not only failed to refresh and gloss my bright red, but went to far as to STRIP THE COLOR OUT COMPLETELY! What the fuck is that all about?! I would explain why this is absurd, but apparently no one at Redken has any inkling about how to deal with hair care products at all, and I feel that no one would understand me if I explained the hair-care process. If anyone DID understand, then we wouldn't be having this discussion, would we? This is the angriest I have ever been at a product, and am disgusted with the fact that you dare to advertise your reds line so fervently, considering the fact that you're basically selling packaged crap-in-a-bottle. This is, by far, the worst product I have ever had the misfortune of coming across, and I will devote my full energy at complaining on every review, every website, every blog, every youtube channel, and to every, single person I happen to come across. I am even going to upload my OWN youtube video with before and after pictures as PROOF that your shitty product is deceptive and defective! I have been unhappy with products before, but never have I been pushed to this limit. This product is disgusting, worthless, and most definitely not-as-advertised. If any more damage happens to my hair due to my having to re-dye it to fix this God-awful mistake, I will personally seek out a lawsuit against Redken. You are clearly marketing a bleacher and stripper as a "toner and depositor", which is ridiculous and an outright lie! At the very least, if this toner had not brightened my red, it should have darkened it if I had left it on too long, or done nothing if I had washed it out too soon. Under NO circumstances should my hair have been stripped of all color all together, lightened and made to smell like a chemical spill at a nuclear plant! Once again, this is a horrible product that is good for nothing but stripping paint off of walls! I am determined to spread the word about this, so no one else has to go through this anger and frustration like I did. I take very good care of my hair and resent the fact that I have to put it through so much torture to undo the mistake that a "professional" brand did to it! Absolutely ridiculous! I could use paint thinner and not have as horrible results as I did with your product! Shame on you for pretending to know what you're doing!Wishing your company nothing but failure from here on out,Deannap.s. I tried to send an email through your website, but conveniently had an "error" when I filed it under a complaint. Must be nice to be able to ignore complaints and pretend you don't suck!... Show more

Wonderful Product!
Because I perm my hair, this is the perfect product for hair color, as it is semi-permanent and does not conflict with the perming process. I constantly get comments about my healthy, shiny and beautifully colored hair. My natural color is gray, but Shades does the job for me. I have discovered that it seems to take better when my stylist applies it right after she does the final rinse of my perm when my hair is still wet. She just towel dries my hair and applies the Shades. It probably has something to do with the hair strands still being a bit "unsettled" from the perming process and thus more receptive to allowing the semi-permanent color to attach to the hair surface. Then, as it is "semi," I touch up the color, at home, between trips to see my stylist. I love ...
