This is truly a beautiful monitor. The build quality is incredible. Dell have not cut any corners. The stand is incredibly sturdy and the monitor has a very modern look. The picture quality is sensational with the IPS display. This is better than a TN or a VA display in my opinion. This is my first time using a 34 inch curved monitor. I do not regret this decision and I love the extra screen real estate. The slight curve gives you an immersive viewing experience. I do not think I could ever go back to 16:9. The 60hz refresh rate is a slight negative if you are a gamer, otherwise not really a problem.. There is also occasionally a slight flicker, but this may just require some adjustment on the settings. One word. Wow. I was always skeptical of curved monitors and never saw the practical use for them. I was then forced to use two of these monitors for work and I am hooked! Having such a large display, the curve actually brings the edges closer into your field of vision, making for a much more comfortable viewing experience. You no longer need to reach over to see the corner of your screen. Besides the curve, the colour and picture quality is perfect. Supporting ultra high resolution, there is no discolouration or stutter. 100% would recommend to anybody who's thinking about getting a large sized monitor.

I fell in love with the 21:9 aspect ratio after purchasing my first LG 34um95. I've owned several 4k monitors and, while they're great, I think the utility and experience of an ultra wide monitor is far superior to 4k. For productivity, having the extra screen real estate is awesome - especially for content producers like myself. Editing photos and videos on an ultra wide is just worlds better than 16:9, IMO. I realize that 4k has more pixels than this monitor and that you can actually fit more content on screen with a 4k. But windows 7 and 8.1 scaling just isn't up to the task of keeping things readable at native resolution on a 4k. As a result, this monitor has more usable screen real estate than any 4k. For gaming, I found this monitor provides a much, much more immersive experience than 16:9 or 4:9 options. I can't overstate how much more close, immediate and immersive games feel on this monitor. Also, I was able to easily overlock this monitor to 75z which is awesome. My LG ultrawides were completely incapable of overlocking at all. Now on to the curve: Gaming is is also the curve seems to make the most difference. When I first pulled the U3415 out of its box I was actually a little disappointed by how subtle the curve is. But once you start using the monitor, it makes a clear and easily recognizable difference. It's not virtual reality, but I really feel pulled into the world in which I'm gaming. And that's compared to a flat ultra wide (LG's 34um94). I imagine that the difference would have been even more dramatic if I had jumped to this screen from a non ultra wide. From a productivity standpoint, I don't think that the curve makes as discernible a difference. I guess that I don't have to turn my head quite as far to see things on the extreme edges of the screen, but it's not a huge difference. If anything, I was afraid that the curve would interfere with my ability to sense a straight-line in photo editing, but that hasn't proven to be a problem. Ultimately, this is the best monitor I've ever owned. For productivity I strongly recommend an ultra wide monitor, though the curve (and the price increase that goes along with it) may be overkill. For content consumption - specifically gaming and movies - the curve is just phenomenal, especially when added to the ultra wide aspect.

I've wanted a Dell Ultrasharp for years, and Adorama prices finally made that possible. Now that the beast sits on my desk I have a few comments that may help other buyers.I'm a publisher and need a lot of monitor real estate. I've been using two 27" monitors, with one landscape and one portrait for page layout. (261.4 sq in. X 2 = 523 sq in total)I ordered the Dell and realized that my old ASUS GTX650TI-O-1GD5 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5 didn't have the horsepower to run it. Dell tech said I needed at least an 800-900 series GPU. I settled on an ASUS DUAL-GTX1050TI-O4G 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5.The Dell delivers a gorgeous, sharp picture. No pixels out. Fast response (but note I'm not gaming). The stand is terrific with smooth operation. The only problem is real estate. The Dell is 13.5 X 31.5 (425 sq. in.) so I lost 19% of desktop space. It would have to be nearly 22" tall to give me my old space. So I'll be re-adding my old portrait monitor (261.4 sq in) for a wonderful new 686 sq in desktop...31% larger than before!Note my old monitor isn't running yet, because it needs an Active Dual link DVI-D(24+1) VGA Cable Adapter Digital to Analog Converter. D'oh!
NOTE: This monitor is being advertised as a 4K monitor. It is NOT a 4K monitor, it's 1440p. That's kinda like "1.5K", but in a super-wide resolution. It's much closer to being a 2K monitor, so please bear this in mind while making your purchase decision. I knew this quite well going into this purchase, so naturally I have no complaints about the U3415W's resolution. Do NOT purchase this thinking you're getting a 4K 21:9 monitor for ~$700, you'll be sorely disappointed. I can see how some people would still want a 144mhz refresh rate, but I honestly don't feel it's necessary, at least not in the 3 games I've listed above. I can see how some people would still want a 144mhz refresh rate, but I honestly don't feel it's necessary, at least not in the 3 games I've listed above. It's also near-impossible to find a monitor of this size/ratio/resolution, and still have that high refresh rate, especially at this low of a price. The extra width on the screen most definitely has its benefits in gaming; for example, having a wider peripheral vision can help you avoid smashing a dozen F1 cars together whilst ripping through tight corners at insane speeds. It also helps immerse you in games a bit more, as you're less likely to see the edges of your screen, allowing your vision to focus solely on what's happening in front of you. As mentioned in the 'PROS', the bezel is almost non-existent, with the exception of the bottom edge (which is where the monitor's buttons are located). Even though I don't have multiple monitors sitting side-by-side, having the super-thin edges helps make this monitor look even bigger. I've watched a handful of 1440p 21:9 videos on here; the picture is perfectly crisp and beautiful. I can see it being a bit annoying watching 16:9 and 16:10 videos on this, as you'll have thick black bars on the sides of your screen. Some games will also experience issues with this resolution, mainly with menu screens. Games oftentimes have looping videos playing in the background of their menu screens, or they've only designed their menu's UI to work on a standard 16:9 resolution, causing menus to either stretch to the width of your monitor, or they will simply leave large black bars on the sides (much like with videos). This is when the backlight bleed becomes most noticeable, though it's expected and tolerable. Normally I shy away from Dell products, because their customer service is absolute sh!t, and the majority of their products are geared towards casual users, students, and "paper-pushers". I do have to admit though, that their monitors are AMAZING. I work for a printing company as a graphic designer; my boss and I both have multiple Dell 27" IPS panels in our work setups, and we absolutely LOVE them. That certainly made this purchase very easy. I will do my best to update this in about a month's time, after I've had a chance to use this monitor for a bit. I would say that I would gladly purchase another, but I'm not entirely sure why I would need a second one, and doubtful I even have the space to have a second one of these. While certainly an awesome price for what it is, it's still an expensive investment, so that's another consideration.
I found the height of the panel about on par with a 24". The stand raises and lowers about 4-5" which is great depending on your desk and chair heights--other monitors skip this feature. The width (32.47") of the monitor is less overall than double 24" monitors (2 x ~22"), but you don't have the double bezel in the middle (right were I look straight ahead to work), and only has a single stand and set of cables on your desk. The width is similar to 2x19" widescreen monitors, but would be taller like a 24" monitor.Visually, it is "lighter", with less "noise" than the "clunky" double 24" setup. It looks more like a single monitor, until you look closer and notice its width. The curve is subtle, and the look is still elegant. While you lose a little horizontal work ... The curve is subtle, and the look is still elegant. While you lose a little horizontal work area over the double 24" setup, I found everything fits in my natural angle of viewing, and I can now work without turning my head as much to see everything.Because it is a single panel, I can tile either 2 or 3 equal vertical windows and work well, and they are all in view without turning my head. Tiling 4 across 2x24" monitors resulted in skinnier views than I wanted, and I could only visually notice 3 at a time anyway.xiI am a software developer and enjoy having my editor in the middle, terminal on one side, and browser on the other. I recommend this monitor for developers.
I really don't believe anything is perfect, however this monitor comes the closest and it really fits my needs. The first day or two, I didn't know what to do with all the screen real estate. I had to enlarge the text size in Windows 8 to medium, as well as have my browser zoom in 125%, otherwise text was two small. So with all this real estate, I have a couple of RDP sessions, a VMware workstation, about 15 browsers each with many tabs, AMIDuos (Andriod on Windows), Google Hangouts, Excel, Word, Visio, Notepad++ all running and I find I can multi task much better compared to my 24 inch. I use to run a multi-desktop window manager with my 24. Don't feel I need to do that any more. Obviously everything can't fit at once, but I can navigate and have 3 or so apps on ... I'm pleased with the monitor, especially since I got it for $650. I really like this monitor coupled with the Dell msa14 monitor arm. I went from a 24 inch Samsung 1920x1080 monitor to this, what an improvement to productivity. I ordered this item the morning of Black Friday, and well, Newegg's ordering and fulfillment system was not up to the user load, it didn't ship until the following Wed and I got it Friday, so a week later. Customer service did give me a gift card for my troubles. I also upgraded from a ASUS AMD 7790 to an ASUS R9 380 so I can drive this monitor at native resolution. I would recommend the R9 380 as well for the productivity user and occasional gamer. Not all content is 21:9, but I knew that going in.
I could duplicate what everyone else is boasting about with this monitor, instead I'll highlight my usage case.I have two laptops, one for work, one for home and a couple of Dell SFF machines hooked up to the HDMI ports.I use this monitor with two laptops flanking the sides, Coolermaster Cherry MX backlit keyboard and Coolermaster Recon Mouse, Microsoft HDMI Wireless Display. With the USB KVM functionality it allows one of the the laptops to be in focus and switch to the other one.I had difficulty with my iogear display port switch and one of the laptops causing me to use the USB KVM functionality in the monitor itself. I'm very happy with it.The only other feature I could use would be more additional upstream USB ports for the SFF machines and hot keys to switch to them. For those I have to use a bluetooth keyboard that can switch devices and an extra bluetooth mouse in a pull out keyboard draw. The monitor's height is adjustable enough to allow an additional set of small monitors angled under it.I've had my dell venue pro 11 in the dock under the monitor as a scratch pad. I had my Lenovo 14" usb monitor under it.I've switched to the Gechic 1303i and it just fits enough. With the Gechic's VGA,HDMI/Displayport switch, I can switch it to either of the laptops depending on where I need it.This gives me a 4 monitor setup with laptops flanking and a scratch pad touch screen monitor.Eventually I plan to replace the Venue Pro 11/Gechic with a Surface pro 4.With the Dell 30" monitor it was just too large and would not go high enough to allow the under screen monitors.I could not totally retire my Dell 30" monitor since this one does not have DVI or VGA ports.EDIT - 2/1/206 - The Surface Pro 4 fits well under the monitor at an angle when the monitor is raised all the way. The Gechich 1303i did as well, but it's much larger and almost hindered view of the Windows task bar.
I really wanted to love this monitor. Unfortunately, my monitor has MASSIVE backlight bleed - see the photo below. If you want to use this monitor for web browsing or data entry, you will be fine. However if you are a creative professional and there is the slightest chance that your work will entail any colors other than white or yellow, you have to stay away from this monitor. The backlight bleed is that bad.Unfortunately, Dell's service has been equally useless. Their phone support literally hung up on me, and their web support is currently refusing to do anything for me because they made me send them photos of the monitor with a light background under normal office lighting. which conveniently masks the problem.Sorry to break it to you, Dell, but creative professionals (photographers, videographers, etc) don't use normal office lighting. My studio is kept dim for a reason. And it doesn't matter if bright colors wash out the problem - the vast majority of my work involves dark colors somewhere near the edges. If I could return this thing, I would. But I'm stuck with it now because Dell refuses to honor their promise to their customers and I can't ethically sell such flawed product to anybody else.
