I give it a middle of the road ranking simply because discharge or provide limited status information. Red light or green. That’s it charging or maintenance status. My battery shows 14.5 V however this charger continues to show a red lamp after days of charging.

Pretty basic charger as it was advertised. It works fine, but leads could be a little longer with change out options. I gave it a 4 for this reason only. It is a beefy thing for sure. It should last.

The charger works well and appears to be well constructed. However the description states it come with alligator clips for short term use and terminal connectors for long term use but can only be used with the alligator clips. I am also having difficulty regestering the product and will be contacting renogy directly.

I purchased this charger as per instructions I received from a support tech to reactivate the BMS in my 8 month old Renogy LFP battery. The technician claimed my Victron charger would not activate the BMS despite Victron stating it would work with the Renogy battery. It did not come with the ring terminals cable as described and so far it hasn’t activated the battery. The battery is showing 10.2v and once connected to the charger the LED status light is a steady green indicating a fully charged battery. I have reached out to the support technician but at this time I feel I was misled and needlessly spent money on a charger that I is not better than my Victron unit.
I had problems with the instructions vs the actual product. The instructions said I would see a flashing green light, but the light stayed red, until it was charged. When I called I was told that the number on the charger was not the renogy part number?Product works just confusing.
Doesn't charge batteries to 100%. They need me to send in batteries to them for 7-10 days to make sure they are working properly.
I purchased this 20A portable charger as permanent charger for my 300Ah LiFePO4 trailer battery. So far, I’ve charged a 50% depleted battery twice at its rated 20A output. Since I don’t have solar yet and could only access a 15A service this last weekend, I left the refrigerator plugged into the inverter while running lights, a/c, and the charger off of shore power. The charger worked well to maintain a full charge and supply power to a fridge while running (50W while running). One item to note, the case seems to dissipate the heat well, so well that it was a slight concern, so I positioned a small fan to cool the charger when charging at its rated 20A.On a similar note, I tried using the supplied clamps for the first charge attempt on my bench. The surface area of the clamp contacting the battery terminal was insufficient and cause the battery terminals to heat up. After crimping on some high quality ring terminals, all was well.Overall, I’m very happy with the product and the price. Why a 20A charger for a 300Ah battery you ask? Eventually I will have some solar panels. I also have a 30A Renogy DC-DC charger so I can also charge on the go. My free generator is only 800W and I don’t plan to purchase or use a generator if I can avoid it.
Works as advertised. Built to last. Easy to use. Would buy again if needed.
This is a Renogy Lithium Battery Charger. A tip I learned on the YouTube is to cut off the Clamps and connect Ring Connectors to the Wires and Connect the Ring Connectors to the Battery Terminals. Prevents the heat. Works Perfectly! I leave mine connected permanently and just plug in the Charger when necessary. Red Light means Charging, Turns to Green when Charged. Simple. Yes, I will recommend this Charger.
Have only use the charger once, but seems to work as advertised. It dose get a little warm on bottom so read instructions to see what not to place it on
