The D250SE with dual input maximizes your vehicle's battery capacity and is the ideal charger for vehicles without access to mains power. This is for my camper van to replace a cheap split charger and solar controller which ive never been confident was doing the trick. firstly the delivery was prompt and the wiring kit was excellent.this was easy to install amidst the existing wiring and consumers and worked first time. somewhere in amongst it all one of the old internal lights has even started working again after 3 years or more and im confident that the supply to the consumers is a lot more stable than it used to be with the existing set-up. ive got a long trip coming up and so this will be the perfect test.oh and the winner for getting this over other products was the trickle charging of the starter battery off the solar cells when the leisure battery is full.

If you have a smaller battery bank and only want to run a single solar panel, this is a very effective and easy way to do it. I didn’t need the smart alternator and lithium capability but it will come with me when I choose to upgrade van and batteries. It also trickle charges your starter battery. What is not to like.Tayna delivered this next day?.It would be handy for some if it came with a wiring and fuse kit but I just used the existing wiring from the old VSR unit and hooked up a solar panel, job done.

Easy to install charger that allows you to tailor it's out put to your system. I have a smart alternator so I connected the red lead. I have a Gel Battery so i left the black lead detached. Manages the alternator and solar panel charge. Great unit. 12v Planet very good service.
In hindsight its probably not the right unit for me. Problem is that it will not start charging the 2nd battery until after 2 hours of the alternator charging! So will not recharge 2nd batteries on trips shorter than that.
I'm considering a compatible charger and a solar charger as I will replace the lead battery with a lithium phosphate battery in the camper. Looking at the exhibition at Makuhari Messe, I found a D250SE compatible with lithium on this site and ordered it. It took time to arrive, but I installed it and it is operating without problems.
I bought two of these for separate installations. easy simple install with instructions. these units work well on both alternator and solar inputs. This makes them ideal for off grid touring as well as general upkeep of power batteries for fridge lighting etc, without draining crank battery while stopped because of inbuilt low voltage cut off.
