I was introduced to RE through RE4. I love this game because it plays in a similar fashion while keeping the same creepy unsettling feeling the older games had. The majority of the game takes place on a ship that you navigate through. You'll find yourself going back and forth through certain areas to get through doors you originally weren't able to go into until you progressed and found a key. It might seem annoying but in my opinion, part of the fun comes in exploring and looking around for new things to pick up (weapons, parts for upgrades, etc.) The story kept me engaged as I didn't know what would happen to the cast and was unsure of some of their motives. There was always that wonder of what would happen next. This isn't a big triple A game but for a fair ... MoreI was introduced to RE through RE4. After 4 years I gave it a second chance. Story mode gameplay is still frustrating but RAID mode is more suitable for me. My first resident evil was RE 4, i played RE 5 and RE 6 and revelations 1. Health meter is not existent, unless i missed it, frustrating picking up items or unlocking boxes. Loading when opening some doors which is a minus if a zombie is near. I dont want to write more, i regret buying it RE 4 and RE 6 are by far the best

I've got Resident Evil Revelations on the Wii U and I love playing it! The campaign has a good storyline, likeable characters, fearsome monsters but there is also camaraderie, cooperation, and a good sense of humour! Romance is also in the air! The Raid Mode is quite challenging with tons of enemies, hard to beat bosses and an array of weapons to choose from and to upgrade! I always go back to play more, to get better, to get more BPs to buy weapons and now with Resident Evil Revelations on my 3 DS I hope I will manage to beat the final boss and to complete the game! Five stars out of five :)

I've played through the PS3 version; and I really enjoyed it. I recently purchased a 3DS for Pokemon games. I've held off getting a 3DS in the past as there weren't a lot of games I wanted for the system. I am really happy with this game. It looks good, and plays like it's PS3 counterpart. The controls do take getting used to; but it's a fun game overall. I can only assume that since the 3DS is aimed at children, this game was probably overlooked. It has a compelling story, the gameplay is fun and the graphics are really nice. Would definitely recommend.
Resident Evil Revelations was a great return to form for the Resident Evil series. After the less-than-stellar RE5 and the complete mess that was RE6, Revelations is a breath of life this franchise needed. Originally on the 3DS, it got a MASSIVELY improved PS3 edition, and now this version for PS4 (and Xbox One + Switch). This new PS4 version is the epitome of great remasters. Utilizing the newer hardware, this game hits a near-locked 60 frames per second and has all the extra content that the PS3 version had. Not only is the campaign great, the Raid Mode is a revamped version of Mercenaries from previous entries, and it's the BEST it's EVER been. Super fun, give it a try, this is the best Resident Evil since 4, hands down.
A friend of mine recommended the Resident Evil Revelations 2 portion of this game. Specifically, its Raid Mode, which is the game's multiplayer component that sends you through portions of the single player mode to fight hordes of zombies in order to acquire guns, gun parts, and level up your character. Now I will be the first to admit that the raid is limited. Limited weapon selection and limited part selection when compared to something like Diablo 3 or a true "collection" game. But I found the mode to be highly addicting, and quick enough that I could run through a level during a train ride. Or go on a binge and complete a bunch of levels with a friend. I wont rate Revelations 1 or Revelations 2 singleplayer. But simply based on the amount of time Ive spent on the super addictive raid mode, it was absolutely worth every penny spent.
I recommend it to everyone, is a unique and fun at a low price, plus the WiiU version, is the most advanced, I bought it on this site, and at home in this title game hours, why not take it! For a total involvement in the affairs recommend playing in a dark, quiet and devoid of any human presence. Before going into detail in an in-depth analysis of the actual gameplay, it is imperative to consider a fundamental aspect of the global: the so-called control system. We report the presence of an additional Circle Pad, sold bundled with the game or separately, useful to facilitate certain movements. Even without this new device, in any case, three different sets of commands provide some comfort to anyone, provided you have to compromise with the cumbersome nature of some actions have always been characteristic of the series. In particular, the ability to move while you shoot (new) could cause some problems if you lack the circle pad, but with the right training, we did not encounter particular difficulties, they consider that such action does not even appear so necessary or useful for the purposes of survival. In any case recommend to the owners of a Nintendo 3DS, which have the possibility to download the demo made available by Nintendo to test directly the title and draw the appropriate conclusions. With out this premise we can now go on to analyze the playability. Classify under one genre this episode is something almost impossible. Resident Evil Revelations is not a pure survival horror, it is not even an action, it is more a TPS, the evaluation must then examine the results achieved in the complex. Who would expect a real title from the strong hues of survival horror will be disappointed, because if it is true that the sunny locations and handled situations in Resident Evil 5 are just a memory, or at least take a small slice of the game, it is equally true that action shooter heavily certainly not lacking. To understand, are more in Resident Evil 4, with the addition of some particularly inspired section in a position to bring to mind a certain Dead Space, albeit with due consideration and in a decidedly less distressing production
As an old school RE fan, Rev1 didn't do much for me, but there is some nice scenery in the game that is reminiscent of the old mansion. The enemies are uninspired except for a few token bosses and the game play is something else. RE has always had tank controls, but the movement in this one seems very outdated and awkward, and the dodge mechanic works like RE3, only way worse and too unresponsive.Rev2 improves on pretty much everything except the environments, which are a bit boring except for a couple of parts. My fiancée has never played a RE game before but she loves playing the partners. Raid mode Co-op is pretty fun as well, but co-op almost feels like cheating sometimes. A pro controller plus a set of joycons or other standard controller is recommended over ... MoreAs an old school RE fan, Rev1 didn't do much for me, but there is some nice scenery in the game that is reminiscent of the old mansion. A pro controller plus a set of joycons or other standard controller is recommended over trying to split the joycons with two people. The joycons are just too tiny, and you'll lose the ability to shoot and move at the same time because you pretty much have to revert to old school RE controls with them.
Random chicken scratchI wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this port after the soupy textures and immersion breaking pop-in of 2016's DOOM. Fortunately, this game consistently performs on par with, or better than the "Day One" copies of RE: Revelations on previous consoles. If I can pass along just one word of advice: ADJUST AIM SENSITIVITY BEFORE GAME BEGINS. -It's so sensitive that while holding right on the left thumbstick, your character will pull off a 720 every second. That being my only gripe with the gameplay, and it's easy to switch using an intuitive menu system.PROS:1 - Far and away the best argument for all games on Switch, especially Resident Evil, is the ability to sleep the console while playing any game and instantly resuming the game ... MoreRandom chicken scratchI wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this port after the soupy textures and immersion breaking pop-in of 2016's DOOM. Only slowing down slightly when 4 or greater enemies are on screen.3 - Even with the single (1) blower fan spinning fast enough to cool a custom-built Nvidia Tegra X1 under 100% load (the X1 is based on the older and less power efficient Maxwell architecture when compared to the current-gen Pacsal), the fan has been meticulously designed to resonate at frequencies that humans can barely perceive.CONS:1 - The inclusion of motion controls implemented on top of a game designed with no practical uses for motion control aside from the shoot (waggle left JoyCon)-shoot-punch (waggle right JoyCon). etc...2 - The onscreen UI does not show which action each face button triggers. You can easily start inhaling green herbs through accidental presses, then be left with nothing on a boss.-MOST ANNOYING/CONFUSING PART-3 - The cartridge only has Revelations 1. In order to play the second game, you are required to buy a micro SD card due to the game download file containing 23.6GB. That's the second largest game currently available for the switch. Revelations 1 is only 12GB. The Cartridge should have had the inverse.
