A great game and what I consider to be one of the classics within the series!

I was introduced to RE through RE4. I love this game because it plays in a similar fashion while keeping the same creepy unsettling feeling the older games had. The majority of the game takes place on a ship that you navigate through. You'll find yourself going back and forth through certain areas to get through doors you originally weren't able to go into until you progressed and found a key. It might seem annoying but in my opinion, part of the fun comes in exploring and looking around for new things to pick up (weapons, parts for upgrades, etc.) The story kept me engaged as I didn't know what would happen to the cast and was unsure of some of their motives. There was always that wonder of what would happen next. This isn't a big triple A game but for a fair ... MoreI was introduced to RE through RE4. Better gameplay than RE revelations 1, Raid mode better than story.

After 4 years I gave it a second chance. Story mode gameplay is still frustrating but RAID mode is more suitable for me. My first resident evil was RE 4, i played RE 5 and RE 6 and revelations 1. Health meter is not existent, unless i missed it, frustrating picking up items or unlocking boxes. Loading when opening some doors which is a minus if a zombie is near. I dont want to write more, i regret buying it RE 4 and RE 6 are by far the best

I've got Resident Evil Revelations on the Wii U and I love playing it! The campaign has a good storyline, likeable characters, fearsome monsters but there is also camaraderie, cooperation, and a good sense of humour! Romance is also in the air! The Raid Mode is quite challenging with tons of enemies, hard to beat bosses and an array of weapons to choose from and to upgrade! I always go back to play more, to get better, to get more BPs to buy weapons and now with Resident Evil Revelations on my 3 DS I hope I will manage to beat the final boss and to complete the game! Five stars out of five :)

I've played through the PS3 version; and I really enjoyed it. I recently purchased a 3DS for Pokemon games. I've held off getting a 3DS in the past as there weren't a lot of games I wanted for the system. I am really happy with this game. It looks good, and plays like it's PS3 counterpart. The controls do take getting used to; but it's a fun game overall. I can only assume that since the 3DS is aimed at children, this game was probably overlooked. It has a compelling story, the gameplay is fun and the graphics are really nice. Would definitely recommend.

Resident Evil Revelations is the first major installment to the series on the 3DS. It's dark, damp and full of action. The story follows a number of characters which the player is forcibly switched between as the story progresses, though the main focus is on Jill Valentine's segments. She and her partner, Parker, are sent out to investigate a mysterious cruise ship that has been abandoned out in the middle of the ocean. Of course, this cruise ship happens to be infested with subjects of the latest viral threat. The virus has a name but you may as well just call it whatever you want. Of course, this cruise ship happens to be infested with subjects of the latest viral threat. The virus has a name but you may as well just call it whatever you want. It does the same thing as every other virus in the RE universe: Make monsters. The criminal organization, Veltro, threatens to contaminate the ocen with the virus. Jill, along with the large number of other characters in the game, must work quickly to prevent another viral outbreak from occurring. Visually, the game is quite nice looking. At this point this is probably the best looking 3DS game availabe. The characters and environments all have plenty of detail while not cluttering the 3DS's tiny screen with too much information. There are multiple, distinct settings that you will not have to worry about confusing with each other. Some areas of the game hearken back to the mansion of the original game. The cruise ship as a whole is dark and unsettling, though other areas visited in the game are largely unremarkable and sometimes feel out of place in the game. All of the cut-scenes are pre-rendered to allow a more impressive and cinematic experience. However, the compression of these scenes is very noticeable. The images look muddy and less appealing to the eyes than when you are actually playing the game. This game never strays from the fact that it is a shooter. There are some light puzzles to solve here and there that require rearrangement of objects on the touch screen but that's as far as it gets. You will be shooting the crap out of everything in this game and you will probably enjoy it a lot. You will come across a number of different weapons. The selection is pretty stock but they get the job done. You can also find custom parts which you are freely allowed to attach to different weapons and upgrade their efficiency. The ammo you carry is often a bit more than what you'd need to take out each enemy you come across, but it's not enough to allow the player to go nuts and waste it. There is usually plenty of ammo lying around for you to take and restock afterwards. The system is balanced. It's enough to make the player conscious of the shots fired and how it affects their ammo but not enough to make the player hesitate to fire in case they need that extra shot for later (like the original games). You also find green herbs to heal which are now available to use at the press of a button. You can carry several with you so like your ammo you can't just waste them for whenever you get a slight scratch The game also features Raid Mode, the multiplayer component of the game. It allows you and another player to connect locally or online and run through a level, shooting everything up in fast-paced bursts of action. You earn new weapons and upgrades as you make progress. It's an OK addition and fans that crave more monster blasting action will probably find it to double their pleasure with this game. I actually had a LOT more to say, but the ebay character limit is nearly reached, so I'll have to end it here.

The end result is certainly not scary, in the literal sense of the term, nevertheless, Residen Evil Revelations does not disappoint, proving a title very accurate in every aspect. For a total involvement in the affairs recommend playing in a dark, quiet and devoid of any human presence. Before going into detail in an in-depth analysis of the actual gameplay, it is imperative to consider a fundamental aspect of the global: the so-called control system. We report the presence of an additional Circle Pad, sold bundled with the game or separately, useful to facilitate certain movements. Even without this new device, in any case, three different sets of commands provide some comfort to anyone, provided you have to compromise with the cumbersome nature of some actions have always been characteristic of the series. In particular, the ability to move while you shoot (new) could cause some problems if you lack the circle pad, but with the right training, we did not encounter particular difficulties, they consider that such action does not even appear so necessary or useful for the purposes of survival. In any case recommend to the owners of a Nintendo 3DS, which have the possibility to download the demo made available by Nintendo to test directly the title and draw the appropriate conclusions. With out this premise we can now go on to analyze the playability. Classify under one genre this episode is something almost impossible. Resident Evil Revelations is not a pure survival horror, it is not even an action, it is more a TPS, the evaluation must then examine the results achieved in the complex. Who would expect a real title from the strong hues of survival horror will be disappointed, because if it is true that the sunny locations and handled situations in Resident Evil 5 are just a memory, or at least take a small slice of the game, it is equally true that action shooter heavily certainly not lacking. To understand, are more in Resident Evil 4, with the addition of some particularly inspired section in a position to bring to mind a certain Dead Space, albeit with due consideration and in a decidedly less distressing production

The future of Resident Evil
5 August 2013

Resident Evil Revelations for the Wii U is the best RE game in years. Originally a 3ds exclusive game, Resident Evil Revelations has been given the HD treatment so even more players get the opportunity to play one of last year's biggest 3ds titles. This time you mostly take control of Jill Valentine aboard an abandoned cruise ship, The Queen Zenobia trying to find her missing partner. The game adopts a tv series style of storytelling with parts being introduced as episodes with a fantastic recap of the game's events to refresh players' minds. The Wii U version is the essential version to own, multiple play styles and options are available such as off TV Play and more traditional controls with a Wii U Pro Controller, the Wii U Gamepad displays maps, menus, weapons ... MoreResident Evil Revelations for the Wii U is the best RE game in years. This time the series has gone more towards it's original Survival Horror roots so expect quiet hallways, limited ammo and powerful B.O.W.s stalking you from the dark. Miiverse functionality is definitely a key feature for example being able to post death messages if you unfortunately meet an early end, as well as monster messages and as well as being able to upload and talk about moments from the game with others over Nintendo Network. Plenty of scares, well paced story and more importantly Resident Evil going back to what it does best, if Capcom continue down this path I cannot wait for more Resident Evil in the future.

The reason why you need, or should keep your 3ds!

This game in my opinion is superior in gameplay, and story compared to Resident Evil 5 and 6. This is less action and more survival horror unlike the previous mentioned games. The majority of the game takes place on what seems to be an abandoned ship in the middle of mediterranian sea, where you will search for the truth about an new virus that threatens the planet. The environment is brought to life by the amazing 3d visuals, and sounds the ship makes while its turning side to side, the sound of your footsteps, and the sounds of every infected being on the ship following you through the ships ducts. controls are great, for lacking a second analog, i think they are pretty amazing. combat is easy as well. the campaign will run you about 8 hours, so it is pretty ... MoreThis game in my opinion is superior in gameplay, and story compared to Resident Evil 5 and 6. Not only is this game one of the best RE titles to come out in years story wise. It also has amazing online! Raid mode is what I kinda would say is a cross between RE gameplay with RPG elements. Your character will have to level up, and earn weapons and weapon upgrades through completing missions with your friends or people online. theres also a solo play mode if you dont have wifi. you earn money by how well you complete a mission and with this money you can purchase more weapons, ammo, and weapon upgrades. This is by far the most fun Ive had online with the 3ds. If your not completely satisified by this review, please download the demo in the 3ds marketplace. Thanks for reading! hope this helped.

This version pulls the history of Resident Evil Together well

I absolutely love this one! IMHO, this is up there with the ever popular version RE4. I like the way that the designers have written the different chapters from various characters' points of view. It helps the storyline make sense. As with RE5, they have added the map so that you have an idea of where you are, your destination, locked doors, etc. I also love the new bio-scanner. You operate it in every room to find hidden items, ammo, and scan enemies after you've killed them. If you are like me, I like to find a solid written game walkthrough OR series on YouTube. Be warned, however, that the games has an autosave mode, so if you decide to wander off at some point in the storyline, it's going to save any wrong turns or mistakes you make. I learned this the hard way. This game is full of action and plenty of play-time. The graphics are good, however, the mouths of people speaking still look a bit fake. I wish that they could perfect this. As an aside, I DO wish that Capcom would keep the control buttons the same with all of the games in the series as it's a pain to remember what button performs an action. Overall, I highly recommend this game. It's a challenge that will surely entertain for hours. As challenging as it is, it doesn't have a horrendously steep learning curve that other action games have such as the Halo series. As a retired teacher, I would NOT recommend this for even teens (as it's rated) because of the graphic violence. I personally feel that kids are becoming desensitized from the media available to them, but that's my humble opinion. Finally, the game, as with other versions, offers online gameplay with others or multiplayer (up to 4) within a home. Hats off to you, Capcom! I hope you come up with a RE7!
