Revlon ColorStay 24 Hour Longwear Makeup - Normal/Dry - Medium Beige

For years and years I used this as my foundation! It was a good solid staple in my routine. It was one I didn’t have to have a primer with (didn’t really know of any or use one back then). It worked for all skin types! It was great on my normal to dry skin but also on my moms skin that can be dry at times but can also be a little oily at times in the T zone. This didn’t get cakey, it didn’t cling to our dry areas or dry spots, it didn’t break up the foundation around her nose when she did get oilier than normal. It blended out well, I used a sponge (dry back then: I didn’t know much about makeup or application lol). I only ever used a dry sponge or a makeup pad that came out of another powder foundation or something. It covers all my imperfections and still looks like I’m not wearing much makeup (or non if I don’t use blush and highlighter). Not only that but it feels like a second skin and lasts all day long even in the Louisiana humid summer heat. It feels very moisturizing and doesn’t dry my skin at all nor does it feel greasy and pasty like other dry skin foundations. As I said, it feels like a second skin. So much so that I don’t have that urge at the end of the day to take it off and often have been forgetting until bedtime. With my usual “fancier” foundation, I feel like I “need” to wash it off as soon as I get home in the evening. I have to say, I’m a convert and will make this my everyday foundation. I have very oily mature skin and find that makeup tends to crease in fine lines and break up in surface oils. This is a very good option for combo and oily skin. Drugstore pricing is a bonus. I would compare this to Mac Studio Fix, Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Liquid, or the venerable Estee Lauder Double Wear (note: to date, NOTHING has ever touched the staying power of the original Double Wear, reformulated ca. 2013.) Texture is almost gel-like in its weight and spreadability. It is buildable and feels like it meshes and flexes well with the skin. I got great application with both a buffing brush, and a damp sponge, but I prefer the sponge method. My photos are after initial application and then after about 6hrs wear. I've been searching for a replacement foundation and was so close to buying the Estee Lauder foundation but decided to try a drugstore foundation one last time and chose this one. I'm actually glad I did. This foundation has performed wonderfully. It is a bit harder to blend than my Milani 2in 1 foundation, but the finished product looks much better than I expected. And it stays looking great even without a setting spray or powder for many hours. I even fell asleep before washing my face and when I got up it looked just like it did when I fell asleep. It has buildable coverage that doesn't look cakey and even though this is for combo/oily skin it doesn't cling to dry areas. You definitely still need a concealer. It is indeed preferable when compared to some other foundations with more floral or chemical scents.On a daily basis wear of 10 to 15 hours the Revlon Colourstay foundation worked really well for my combination oily skin. This foundation has a matte finish which helped with the perpetual combo skin shininess. It is a buildable foundation which I found to be extremely helpful for my work makeup look. Throughout moderate daily exercise during both work and home life this foundation didn't move from the face after application was completed, which really impressed me.One of my personal favourite features of this foundation is that it feels very lightweight upon the skin and is easy to wear. You won’t need to use too much of the foundation as it provides decent coverage while being long lasting. Which bottom line means overall savings at a time when we can all appreciate some frugality.Removal of this Revlon foundation was uncomplicated using both micellar water with cotton rounds or makeup wipes. I didn't require the use of heavier makeup removal products which is an excellent feature of this foundation.The only thing I would recommend changing about this product is adding more shades into the range and maybe making the container 50ml instead of 30ml.Final overall grade from me would be an 8.5/10.

Revlon, what can I say! Your Softflex Colorstay foundation was my best companion for over 10 years! You stood with me through many all nighters out with my friends, crying at my wedding, many tropical (aka humid) and ski (aka dry) vacations! You kept me feeling flawless and beautiful! I loved you and wouldn’t leave the house without you. Then, something happened, imposters! They say it’s still you, but it’s no where close. I may be able to handle close, but I’m talking this new JUNK is so far from the mark. You were PERFECT the way you were. They butchered you and I have been mourning you for years now. Changed formula and bad results

Somewhere along the way the formula for this product was changed. I've been a long term user and I've decided today I will no longer purchase this makeup. It feels very heavy but doesn't provide the coverage that heavier foundation should. It is no longer transfer resistant. It transfers everywhere. It gets on your clothes, on sheets of paper if you accidentally touch your face and touch a piece of paper, it gets on the shirt of the person that you hug etc. it is so annoying! And the worst part is that for the first time in my life I now have pretty significant and consistent acne because of this product. I am so disappointed and no longer recommend this product. Will be moving to Fenty.

Its fluid and non-heavy texture is perfect for oily and combination skin as it goes on my skin well and spreads easily on the face. I like to use a damp beauty blender to quickly apply the product on my face - it only needs two pumps as a little goes a long way. When wearing this foundation under a mask, I think the foundation in my nose area of the t-zone is more likely to come off than the cheeks. So if you need to go out for a long time, some touch-up will likely be needed. This foundation has a matte finish which is always my preference as I don’t like my skin to look too glossy. It's also worth noting that this foundation doesn't leave much foundation colour behind if you wipe your face with a tissue when sweating, so it helps me to maintain a good look after exercise.

The original formula was full coverage, so I only had to use a little bit and it would make my skin look amazing/flawless even in the hot and humid climate I live in. With the later formulas, they must have thinned them out or something because the coverage is just not there. You can see my skin underneath and I don't like that.
