I had a regular blow dryer, but given that I have coarse, long type 4 hair, it took much effort to get a great blowout. Using this takes only slightly less time, but the effort feels significantly less. It's much easier on my wrist, the detangling is easier and less yanking than the regular blow dryer comv. There are two heat settings, and I used the lower one to get these results. I also noticed I was sweating less than usual. I've already told a couple of people to buy it.

I like this little gadget, it does an okay job of drying my hair. However, I must say that if you have a head full of thick, coily Afro-textured or super curly hair, then you will have to detangle fully before using this dryer. I spent a considerable amount of time detangling before applying a heat protectant and using this dryer. It did end up straightening my hair a bit but not as straight as the review videos I'd seen online with a similar hair type. In fact, it was quite puffy afterwards but finally dry. I do wish that the paddle was a bit wider with more heat distributed throughout because that would help to dry hair a lot more evenly and quicker. I'd recommend this for any texture but if your hair is super dense, thick, coily or Afro-textured, then just know ... MoreI like this little gadget, it does an okay job of drying my hair. I am mixed race with thick and curly long hair. Ive used many, many blow dry brushes throughout the years and this one does do a pretty good job but could be better. Ive been using this one for about two years and im ready to move on to a different one.Pros:*I'm able to dry my entire head in 10-15 minutes. And I mean completely dry and straight.*I also like that its one complete unit and not detatchable. Ive used some that have a detatchable head and they always felt like they would break over time.*The bristles are gentle on my hair and dont seem to add frizz like some of the fake boar bristle brushes do.Cons:*Many of the bristles have pulled out of the brush. Either while brushing or cleaning the hair out.*The bristles have also warped over time.*The ... MoreI am mixed race with thick and curly long hair. My kids and I have super thick 4c hair and this blow dryer is easy to use and quickly blows out our hair and makes it easy to part and style the hair especially for braiding. If you are wanting to straighten your hair with this blow dryer it will do the hair part for you of blowing it out but you will need to use other straightening equipment to flat iron or press your hair. I love this blow dryer. We were breaking the combs on the less modern ones. This one is sturdy and built for all types of hair.
My hair is mid-back length, type 4, with medium/coarse strands.I got one of these back in 2018 and wasn't the biggest fan, but that was my fault. My hair wasn't in the best state and had lots of buildup which caused extremely long blow dry times, more resistance when trying to get the brush through my hair, and dull and breaking hair. I did end up asking for and receiving a replacement from Revlon in 2022 because the first one made a high pitched whining noise even from the first use. I figured that even though I wasn't using it anymore, I should take advantage of the 4 year warranty so I could have the option of using it in the future if I wanted to.I used the replacement for the second time a few days ago and am actually somewhat of a fan now. It's ergonomic and much faster than drying with the traditional blow dryer and paddle brush. My hair also got smoother/straighter and is actually wearable just after a blow out unlike when I do it the traditional way. But that could be because my technique for the standard way isn't the best.My only complaint is that there's no cool shot button. There's a cool setting, but that doesn't offer the same ease and convenience as a button. I use the low setting to knock most of the water out of the hair. It doesn't stretch my hair much because it's so low. Then I go in with the high setting to stretch it. My hair will be extremely hot to the touch after the first pass on high even though the hair is still damp. Then I have to wait for it to slightly cool before I go in again to prevent it from causing toooo much damage. If it had a cool shot button, I could cool my hair down in-between passes or stabilize the temperature to keep it from getting overly hot in the first place.I've always been hesitant to use a blow dryer without an attachment because of how damaging they say it is due to the lack of distance between the heat and hair. But I don't see the difference between doing that versus using blow dry brushes. Part of me feels like I could achieve the same speed/straightness with my regular blow-dryer if I used the same method. Low to medium heat without an attachment to cover more ground while using my hand to stretch my hair. Medium to high heat while using a brush or the pic attachment. And that'd be way less damaging because not only could I utilize the cool shot button, but also be able to control the distance between the heat and my hair. I've actually seen a couple of professional stylists do this before, so I think I'll give that a shot next time.
I was eyeballing the brand's barrel hairbrush dryer at Christmas time, I am not great at using one of those, my hair is long and thick, it would get tangled in it too easily based on past use of plain old barrel brush. Came across this on the app and knew it would be for me! It states in directions to have damp hair and to section it off for optimal drying, but honestly, I just lightly towel dry my hair and the dryer brush does the rest. I have naturally wavy hair and it is so smooth and straight with no tangles after use! I also noticed my hair is falling out less which means there's very very few strands left behind in the bristles. Make sure to remove excess hair after. This is also easier to clean after use with the hair being in between bristles. Definitely a ... MoreI was eyeballing the brand's barrel hairbrush dryer at Christmas time, I am not great at using one of those, my hair is long and thick, it would get tangled in it too easily based on past use of plain old barrel brush. I am at that awkward stage of a grown out bob. I have asian hair, thick but fairly naturally straightish. This is my first revlon dryer brush, I've tried other brands that are hot garbage. With that said, this works. However, I do have to quickly brush my hair with a wide tooth comb before, I found that if I don't, it'll pull put my hair and it's bulky. As far as the other comment saying it made their hair frizzy, I'm used to washing my hair during the afternoon to airdry and not comb my hair at all, so this is a step up for me.
I have the other Revlon all in one styler and while it did work and the concept was amazing, it is not how I successfully blowout my hair. I am terrible with a round brush plain and simple. This paddle brush dryer mimics perfectly how I get my best blowout at home. It is light weight and less bulky than the original and a plus less HOT. I could never use high on the other one or I would fry my hair. I have natural silver hair so heat is an issue. For me, I fiber towel turban my hair for 15 minutes than section my hair and dry. I completed my blowout in just under 15 minutes. My hair texture is wavy to curly, med to thick and my length is mid back.
4c African American child 5 yrs old - styler is too big for child’s headHeat covered hair length -width pretty well - I would say heat I would give 4 stars alone (it dried well)Straightened?? 🤔…. It definitely could straighten better but I give it 4 stars tho because it only needs to improve a tiny bit in that respect and the child’s hair is 4c do it takes more heat , high heat and longer time frame for better results ….. overall I would say 4 stars because nothing is perfect and can always be improved……I would recommend for the price and functionality it was decent and not a waste …. It will be used here and there and results are decent enough to keep it around.
I have a lot to say about this product. In my opinion for what I was looking for it is brilliant. It really does work like its suppose to. I have medium width thick medium porosity hair (and about a 2c 3a/3b curl pattern) and I have found this does work! It dries the hair and stretches the hair. I do this at night if I'm using this product alone, I work each section of hair and pin them up like pin curls as I move to the next section after which taking them down and putting them into a bun before bed. I have found that the hair and puffiness TAMES overnight and looks great. I am someone who doesn't like styling my hair with heating tools too often as they are damaging to the hair. This is great because I get to give myself a little blowout and enjoy my hair looking ... MoreI have a lot to say about this product. In my opinion for what I was looking for it is brilliant. I have found that the hair and puffiness TAMES overnight and looks great. I am someone who doesn't like styling my hair with heating tools too often as they are damaging to the hair. This is great because I get to give myself a little blowout and enjoy my hair looking like my hair, but straighter, smoother and bouncier without any leave ins or stylers! However, if you're expecting this to give you that immediate SLEEK and straightened blowout look, ESPECIALLY if you have curly hair, it won't give you those results. It only stretches and smooths the hair, which is fine! I have tried this instead of a round brush and regular blowdrier to stretch the hair before using a straightener and it works AMAZINGLY for this purpose. So much faster than a traditional blowout whilst giving similar results. Also, another plus is that I've been using this for about a month and a half now and I was using it for about 4 or 5 weeks straight, 1-2 times a week on the highest setting and I found it gave me no heat damage. I put argan oil in my hair whilst it was wet and let it dry about 90% of the way before using this product. So I know this product is probably very safe for most people's hair if they use this sensibly. So, why 4 stars and not 5? The reason this didn't get 5 is because of two reasons:1. The airflow is not consistent throughout the paddle brush design. Most of the airflow comes out of the top of the paddle brush. This isn't a big deal but it's worth noting. I find this is easily resolved by using the paddle brush in a verticle and downward motion rather than horizontally through each section.2. This is a pretty loud product! I know hairdriers are loud, but this seems to be louder than most regular blowdriers I've ever had. Again not a huge deal but maybe don't use this too late at night if you're living with people and they're asleep!Other than this, I really can't say anything bad about it. However, I watched so many youtube videos of reviews on this paddle brush design and the blowdryer + volumizer version they have (the round brush design) and have noticed that most results with the revlon round brush design even on very curly/coarse hair got PERFECTLY sleek and shiny blowouts with that one (obviously results will still vary depending on what curl pattern/texture you have etc but the volumizer seemed to have given sleeker and straighter more "styled" rather than just smoothed and stretched like the paddle brush design).Hope this helps. Overall I'd say if you want sleeker and smoother results get the round brush design if you want just a blowout that stretches and smooths the hair get the paddle brush :))
