The quality out of camera is acceptable for the use I am putting this thing through on the daily. The highlights get a bit blown out but it is passable. For the price you really can't beat it. The battery lasts for hours and it connects very easy to my mobile device. It isn't all good though. The plastic body is very fragile and the lens is prone to scratching if not kept extremely protected. All in all, if well maintained it can be a very capable tool in your kit.

This is a great 360 camera to get quick snaps as long as the light balance is right, for the price it gives good results, still testing and learning how to get the best out of it. Works best with a selfie stick/tripod.

I watched a lot of sample videos/images of 360/VR consumer products before buying this product and all most all of them left me underwhelmed. There currently is NO consumer-friendly (e.g. sub-$3000) 360 solution for video with acceptable results. However, for stills, the Theta SC is quite decent! The fact that you can produce 4000 x 4000 stills (which translates to a nice 13x13 inch print at 300 dpi) says a lot. Two minor quibbles... One is is that you have to rely on Ricoh's Theta360.com website to post/share (navigable 360 photos) online. (You CAN upload your horribly blocky Theta videos to YouTube though.) If you can get a Theta SC between 50 and 100, then this is good vaklue, and the perfect introduction to 360 photography. Any price over 100 in 2020 is overpriced. With the latest 360 cameras offering better image quality at a slightly higher price, this camera allows you to find out if you will get much use out of 360 photography. The video feature is pretty rubbish.. not HD in the slightest, but even in 2020, the SC shoots perfectly acceptable images that you can post to Google Street View.... The best things about the Ricoh Theta family of cameras is the in camera stitching - it is excellent. But i must warn you , there is a bit of a learning curve with this type of photography. Fortunately, plenty of tutorials online via youtube.
This is a good value for a 360 camera. It has almost the same specifications and the Theta V which is $100 more. It is also a plus that it processes the HDR photo in the camera which saves time during the workflow process. The only issue I had is that when used outside in the bright sun there are red dots in the pictures that need to be photoshopped out.
Had this a couple of weeks and pleased with it so far. For the price seems really well spec'd. People moan about no removable storage but what do they expect?!Learning curves around uploading and editing but I'm sure I'll get there, eventually
This is a fairly good 360 degree camera. It's compact and lightweight and has a lot of software built in. It is a little expensive retail, which is why I bought it on e-Bay. There are much cheaper versions of this sort of camera available from other manufacturers, but the problem is they don't come with the same online features you get from Ricoh. A word of caution: The tripod or monopod that comes with this is very prone to being blown over by a slight breeze, so I recommend you bring weights with you if you're using it outdoors.
My main reason for buying this camera is the 13 stop bracketed shooting, and I was not disappointed! In the app, I'm able to adjust ISO, shutter speed, and white balance to fine tune each picture. Pair it with a good HDR editor, and this can get some amazing results! Perfect for HDRI environments and VFX work.The built-in HDR setting works fine, but doesn't hold a candle to the manual settings. My only real complaint is the app can be a bit tricky at first, and doesn't always transfer the images properly. But the camera works and I can always retrieve them directly.
We bought this to take pictures of rooms in houses as we are real estate agents.It is OK but the quality of the pictures in normal inside lighting is not too great. They are quite grainy especially when viewed on a pc. Fine for cell phone viewing though.But as I said, we are not too disappointed and will probably get the Theta V or or Z1 if we see that this is being useful to our clients.
No viewfinder, no Bluetooth, iPhone app not friendly. This model is not the most current version of the product
