Review of the 200w Ridge Ryder solar panel, after using it for a week straight, set up in full sunlight, angled to the sun to get the most out of it & the battery down to 50%, some days, set up on it's own victron smartsolar 75/15 mppt controller is a very dissapointing product. I have only been able to extract 132w max out of this panel even on rescent days with thevambient temp between 20° to 27°c , the 150w i previously owned was, i believe, a far more effiicient pannel, as i was able to extract 150w out of that panel under the same conditions, weighed 4kg, less, was physically a bit smaller & worked far more efficiently for the dollars outlayed. The 200w folding panel/blanket is very expensive compared to what the original 150w panel/blanket cost. Got this to carry in our camping trailer to keep the battery topped up when we are disconnected from the car. Works really well and it's flexible in where you put it due to its "flexibility" which we really like. Even used it to recharge the car battery after the alternator gave up.

This a great quality product with a great solar controller, a MPPT that can support Lithium batteries. The compactness of the panel when it is folded up is great and the output of 10a plus 2 fridges running in the middle of the desert on a hot sunny day is the best solar panel I have seen. For $349 as a member, I have not seen greater value for money for such good quality.

Great value bit of kit.Even with an overcast afternoon it was still charging rapidly.In full sun this thing amazed us just how well it works and the regulator is simple to understand for all connections.
Happy with the solar blanket. Supplies good amps. Even generates with cloud cover. Is holding up well so far.
Only used once for a 4 day camping trip. Managed to keep my 120amh lithium battery fully charged whilst running a fridge and a freezer. Great power output in direct sunlight. Minimal output with cloud cover, however I understand that’s normal for a monocrystalline panel. Overall very happy. The unit feels well put together and durable.
This is great value.I bought it on a storewide sale which makes it even better value. Impressive with the MPPT Regulator included.It's not built like a $2000 plus redarc blanket, but for my needs it ticks all the boxes for the amount of times I will use it.I have used it a couple of times now it and for the price with a MPPT Regulator it is by far better than any I have seen in this price range. I have had a 150W Rydge Ryder solar blanket for years which is excellent as well. I plan to run them in parallel which should be good especially on cloudy days.
I am disappointed with this putchase, at the point of sale no mention was made that the Solar Blanket was not weather proof or resistant. I only discovered this fact when I read the instructions. Had I been advised of this fact at purchase I would have purchased an alternate fold up solar panel instead.Unfortunately I will not be able to use the product due its stated unreliability in inclement weather. The product has not been unpacked and I will be seeking to return the SB upon my return from holiday.
Got this for a week off grid with my camper. The MPPT regulator was a key feature I wanted as it significantly improves efficiency over simpler regulators. Kept lights, fridge, water pump and camper battery going easily. Easy and quick to use. Time will tell how sturdy and reliable it is but very happy for now.
Never owned a solar blanket before, very simple it setup and comes with plently of connection option, (Used the alligator clamps since my 12v is still a work in progress), Kept my AGM battery topped up and charged everyday with the fridge running. Very happy with my purchase.
