I actually ordered the battery operated camera, but received the powered/corded version, so returned it. Either way my major comment is related to both the corded and batter powered cameras. My biggest complaint with the Stick Up Cam, is that if you want to mount the camera to a ceiling, you must purchase separately the mounting hardware. If the camera is mounted upside down, there is no way to rotate the image/video on the settings, so your images and video are upside down. While the product description indicates that ceiling mounting requires separate hardware, it does not explain why the hardware is required; i.e. not for the purpose of mounting to the ceiling, but rather so that the camera can be installed upright. This seems like a flaw in the design to me. ... MoreI actually ordered the battery operated camera, but received the powered/corded version, so returned it. After installation, I really like this camera because it looks very modern and minimizes the living room space. I decided to install it because I wanted to watch my little dog more when I was out. The camera is high quality and the image is clear, along with clear, realistic sound, motion detection. The battery is removable and can be easily charged with a USB cable very quickly. Connecting to the Ring app and installing the camera was quick and easy. This is a high quality, easy to set up camera that I highly recommend.... Show more

I am really liking this camera. My horse had some medical issues and needed a close eye kept on her, we already have Ring cameras at the house so chose to get one for the barn too. We don’t have electric in the barn so this battery powered Ring was our best bet. I have it connected to hotspot which gives it enough connection to do live view. It’s been very helpful. The battery does die quickly, BUT I was checking the live feed every 15 minutes. Now that I’m checking it less, the battery is lasting much longer. Night vision is great, as mentioned we don’t have lights in the barn. The screenshot is taken at night.... Show more

Battery not included
This is my fourth Ring camera. All the other came with batteries. I started to return the camera, but at the store I got another one and opened it. Sure enough, no battery. The packaging doesn't say, "Batteries not included."While I went to grab a battery, the clerk looked it up, she said that, "in small print" the product description noted it doesn't come with a battery. So, a $40 battery on a $100 camera means that Ring raised the price 40% and hid the increase by removing the battery.... Nice quality. Easy to set up
I purchased this camera in my local store. Brought it home to discover you can't wall mount this without an accessory mount. The base on this camera will not rotate 90 degrees. Upstairs to the parts boxes! I found a Panavice brand mount. Luckily this Ring camera uses a 1/4x20 thread for an accessory mount. It went right on the Panavice mount. Got it mounted outside, power run to it, and it's up and working. Nice resolution on the video. User friendly App, too.... Show more

[Rewarded Review] Bought to monitor heating boiler in winter
Bought this plug-in camera to place next to my condensing heating boiler which has a display screen. (Six-zone hot water heat.) Gets bitterly cold here. Now can open the Ring app and observe the display from anywhere. Note that changes in displayed data (running/standby/startup/shutdown) do not trigger the camera.Display in pic is white--if it's yellow, something is going to fail. If it's red, the system has failed and shut down. That's what I wanted to be able to see. Much more relaxed when at work on a frigid day. Nice addition to Ring devices.... Show more

[Rewarded Review] Does not alert unnecessarily for cats/dogs
Due to 3 separate instances of someone opening the gates in our yard, we decided to add the Ring Floodlight cam and a stick-up cam to cover our 2 gates and the entrance to the garage. Installation was not too difficult. Be careful of the direction of the unit because we installed it upsides down the first time. (not as obvious as you would think). So far is it working well. I was worried it would alert every time dogs/cats and squirrels cross their paths, but fortunately, it does happen very often. The only reason for taking off a star is because we now have 3 ring products, including a Ring doorbell, and the "Chime" in the house cannot be set to different tones to let you know which of the 3 Ring items has alerted. You are forced to run for your phone to check it ... [Rewarded Review] Easy setup, works perfectly, and solid investment!
These are handy, incredibly convenient security cameras that are easy to install and configure. Only two very minor annoyances are waiting for the initial software update (might take a day or more the but camera works just fine while it's waiting), and of course looking for a hiding place for the power cord. Other than that, setup time is literally five minutes if you have the Ring app installed. If not, give yourself another 30 minutes to download the Ring app, create your account, and watch a view tips and tricks videos because they are so worth the time.We bought the Stick Up Cam Wired as an interior enhance to our existing Ring exterior perimeter cameras. From inside it's aimed at our front door with the motion sensor targeting the entire front room. Although it's off most of the time, when enabled (using Ring Modes), we are alerted if anyone opens the front door or even if someone broke in by breaking through a front window.Pet friendly: we used the motion framing tool to aim above pet height, mostly mitigating false alarms. Occasionally a tail will stray into view and then we get interesting evidence that it's working perfectly. It's really cool and so adjustable. Have fun tweaking this and your other Ring cameras! Is it perfect? No, nothing is but this camera is really close. We're giving it 5 stars because it's solidly built, easy to use, and has the other features like microphone, speaker, color night vision, and best of all a power cord so no batteries! Moreover, Ring sells a plethora of accessories so you can mount these wherever your imagination takes you. What's not to love? We're actually buying a few more for other interior and exterior applications; the Ring cameras are honestly that good!... Show more

[Rewarded Review] Question
Hello Bestbuy,I recently bought this ring camera at the Augusta maine location. I was drawn to it because my mother had bought one at the lowes in auburn maine. I hooked hers up in her house, and also shared it to my phone just incase hecause the primary reason was to keep an eye on the house of course but also our dog, and my dad not to like make him feel smothered just to make sure he's okay ( 84 in july). I also have purchased dash cams for my truck just because of crime rates increasing but i wanted something that i could get notified with a live viewing if my truck was being messed with ( I could call 911 asap, catch burglar in the act). My mom's is the older version ( white/indoor or outdoor) we love it! I bought i believe the newer version ( black ) one its ... The best camera for my needs. I like the fact I can just run. Cat 6 cable from my PoE switch to anywhere I want to monitor, this coupled with the Elite doorbell is a really simple, single cable solution giving high quality video and audio. Video is very clear and even works well at night. The Ring app allows easy adding of new devices (I now have 5 mixed between cameras and floodlights. The ring protect plus plan makes sense with a few devices and allows a god level of recording and storage.... Show more
