I had been sitting on the fence about buying another robot vac after having had one for about 8 years (different brand). My original robot vac worked fine as a vac but was not great at being a robot (it would get stuck under a chair and spend an hour going around in a loop until it went flat). I was expecting fluff to be dragged around the rugs and carpets but it actually cleaned like a regular vac (the house is a 50/50 combination of carpet and floor boards).It took two cleaning cycles for it to generate a perfect little digital floor plan of the house. I was able to easily split it into rooms and give each room a name. The app lets me easily send the vac to a specific room and it just goes on it's way. No requirement for annoying virtual walls with batteries that go flat. It's easy to create no-go zones and keep it away from stuff you want to avoid (eg. the cat food bowls).I was even able to link it to Google Home and can now verbally request a specific room to be cleaned. Eg. if stuff gets on the ground in the kitchen I can just say 'Hey Google start cleaning the kitchen' and off the vac goes - straight to the kitchen.I've got it running on a schedule to clean the whole house once every 2 days and so far it's had no issues doing that after two weeks of use. I am always amazed at how full the dust bin is and where it's all coming from (as the floors constantly appear clean for a change).The decision to buy the S6 MaxV as opposed to the S5 was purely to get the obstacle avoidance. This was important given issues I'd had in the past with the less intelligent robot vac. I can't really comment on whether or not the obstacle avoidance feature was worth it. It does recognise stuff and you can see it show up on the floor plan - but I wonder if the S5 would have been equally ok with it. It is hard to say with no comparison. In the two weeks I have had it, it's yet to get stuck or chew up any cords or cat toys though. Having said that, I did try to robot proof the house a bit before letting it loose and it is a good reminder to try and keep stuff off the floor in general.As for the mop feature. I didn't buy the unit for the mop but have tried it a couple of times. Basically it drags around a damp rag. I would say that it is a good 'maintenance' function but it is nothing to write home about. I doubt that it will get much use from me. It does vac to a point where I can manually mop straight away though which is a nice change!Hopefully it keeps performing like this at least for a couple of years and it will have been well worth the $1000 or so that it cost.

The Roborock S6 MaxV was the overall best choice for our home; however, it was expensive. We chose to purchase a refurbished model through eBay. Although, it arrived with some minor cosmetic flaws, overall it was in great condition. The Roborock has been impressive for the following reasons: *The app is amazing and allows us to see exactly where it has been. It also shows any and all obstacles. It allows for zones to be set and rooms to be labeled. *Theres a mop attachment. This has been extremely helpful for quick cleaning in small spaces (I learned that wetting the pad helps with the mop function). *Battery life is awesome. This is our second robot vacuum, our first was a Wertheim Elegance that we got in 2021, we we have placed upstairs, carpet, and the Roborock is downstairs, tiles. We were really looking for a good mopping vacuum for downstairs. We hoped that mopping functions had improved since the time we got our first one. Unfortunately, Id say the mopping application of the Roborach is less effective than the Wertheim. However, the good points are is that is has great function and it's ability to avoid tangles. Our Wertheim will bulldoze obstacles until its stops. The Roborock will always avoid obstacles and it never gets its self into a tangle. its also easier to clean and maintain that the Wertheim. It connects well to the Roborock app and Google Home as well, and is very convenient to use. Once on the 2nd level, the robo gets completely confused and has a tough time finding its position and keeps banging the glass doors trying to go to the outdoor area to clean.
Worth every penny. Great mapping and easy to use app. Circles around table and bed legs. Despite my long hair and my golden retriever fur the brushes haven’t been tangled and the little hair that does get wrapped around can be easily removed with the supplied cutter - a very thoughtful addition! It has a good go at getting over raised surfaces, I was very surprised to see it go over the legs of my kitchen stools and clean underneath them. I LOVE the lined cleaning rather than the bounce cleaning, so much more efficient and precise. This is my first robovac and I’ve recommended it to everyone so far.

I bought the RoboRock S6 MAX to vacuum my house (flooring is ceramic tiles and wooden floorboards). Works perfectly, picks up a lot of dirt/dust - maybe even better than my corded vacuum! I have scheduled it to run once everyday and we now enjoy clean floors all the time! We have a small Dachshund x Jack Russell dog who lives inside and sheds a lot of hair and we are amazed at how good the Roborock picks up all this hair. The side brush really does sweep the dirt from all the corners and vacuum up. The suction on the Roborock S6 MAX is phenomenal! The mapping is great and was as simple as opening the box and pressing start and letting the advanced features of the Roborock do all the hard work! This has made life sooo much easier! I have a large living area (white porcelain tiles that show up absolutely everything!)that is a thoroughfare for many children, 2 dogs and 2 cats. The animals shed alot of hair! I have been leaving the roborock to do its thing every night once everyone has settled and wake up to vaccummed and mopped floors! It handles pet hair really well. The mop doesn't leave streaks and dries pretty quickly. The mopping feature works well on lightly dirty floors, you would need to get out the mop and bucket if the floors were really dirty. It mapped the area pretty quickly and navigates objects well, if my dogs or children come near it when it's in motion it slows and avoids them. I would recommend purchasing extra mop mats so you can rotate them often.
Bought the S6 vMax in April last year and I’ve been raving about it until a month ago when I did a big maintenance clean and firmware update. After that, the little side brush constantly runs after docking. Will even run for 2 seconds every couple of minutes after being taken off the dock. Otherwise, when fully charged will perfectly clean my house. Roborock want me to pay up to $300 plus postage both ways to get it fixed and I believe that at a cost of $1100, the machine should last longer than 15 months. But, alas, it still wasn't all rainbows and unicorn butterflies: it was still a pain to keep the floors clean. What kind of single layer perceptron garbage are we developing here guys? I swear it actively seeks out the poops and cords at this point. If the object avoidance is one of the primary reasons why you are looking to buy this product, there are so many better options. I would even try the S7! I'm not dumping entirely on roborock but this product is 100% not ready to be pushed out to customers.
