Royal Canin Dog Food Adult Golden Retriever 12kg

This food is great. My golden retrievers love it. What I don't love is the price going up 30% in less than one year. It feels like price gauging when Royal Canin's large breed food has remained around the same price ($20-25 less per 30-pound bag). I know there's inflation, but come on, this is exorbitant.With two goldens, I'm likely to switch them to the large breed food. The ingredients appear nearly identical. It will save me $400-500/year.

Amazing Results!

I switched to Royal Canin (from Blue) a couple of months ago at the recommendation of my Vet. So glad I did, as I have seen an incredible difference in my 8 year old Golden. Before Royal Canin, his energy level was low, coat was lackluster and eyes appeared cloudy. Cannot believe the difference in our 8 year old!! He finally plays (really plays!) with our 18 month old Golden, which she needed. His coat is soft and shiny AND his eyes look clear and healthy!!Thank you Royal Canin for such a great product!

Best Dog Food even for sensitive eaters.

We recently adopted a Golden Retriever. They said he had a sensitive stomach and allergic to wheat. We have had 3 Golden Retriever in the past but bought several wheat free dog food. Our vet said dogs are not allergic to wheat. She said give him Royal Canin like you have for all your other Golden's. Brought it home and he got so excited and ate the v whole bowl immediately. We used to have to doctor up the other brands which pound per pound were more expensive. We now have a happy and healthy Golden Retriever.

Caution-- latest bag major vomiting Nov.2022

My golden has been on this food for over a year, I opened up a new bag and after his dinner he threw the food up within a few hours. This happened again after his breakfast the next day and following. Once the new bag of food was discontinued the sickness passed. There were no other factors that changed, just the new bag of food. I will be switching and requesting a refund; this food is very expensive. I expect better, also there is a good chance I'll be spending thousands on new carpet. The vomit picked up all the yellow dye from the food and the smell was horrendous. Vet recommend Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach and I'm happy to see that brand at least has protein (i.e. salmon) as the first ingredient.

Chicken by-product is second ingredient

People should know second ingredient is chicken by-product. Thought I was doing right by my dog. So disappointed. Called Royal Canin and was told they only use clean part of chicken ( not parts of human consumption like breast) . Ask how can you prove that to me. She said when you call the reps explain that. Not exactly facts to me.

Dogs like it - kibble is HUGE. Pricey as well

We are in the process of switching food on the advice of our vet to avoid a grain free formulary due more recent research that points to higher heart disease for dogs on that type of diet. Both of our dogs seem to love the new food - but as noted Kibble is HUGE. Because we are in the switching process, they get half their existing bad, and half of this food. I will say that they both seem to go after the larger food first before the smaller nuggets. I have seen a noted difference in their stool since we added this food - definitely not as firm or dense. Perhaps this is because there is more "filler" in this food OR their digestive tract is getting used to it. We've committed for this bag, but i'm not yet totally sold - especially for the price. Gives My Dog The Zoomsies

My dog is now almost 1.5 yrs old and we've been giving him Royal Canin since he was a pup. I was told once that rice can make dogs hypo and boy were they right. I didnt put 2 and 2 together until recently, but after he would eat he'd get the Zoomsies. We've now switched over to another brand that doesnt contain rice and I noticed his Zoomsies settled down after the first day.Also this didnt have enough fibre for him because his bottom glands weren't naturally excreting themselves , whereas the new brand does (so far).I'm not poo pooing Royal Canin but just letting others know how my dog reacts to it now that he's almost 2.Thanks for listening to my Ted Talks.

Good customer service but the packaging was overdone

I have been regularly buying from Supertails and their willingness to satisfy customers and their service is incredible - their willingness to please is almost doglike...and I mean it in a good way :)My only complain with the last order is the amount of plastic they used to deliver the dog food which, in my opinion, was unnecessary. It really upset me to see it packed with multiple layers of bubble wrap followed by meters of cling wrap. I hope they take this comment as positive feedback and show come concern and respect for the environment.

Great food for our goldens

We have been using this food for our 2 goldens who are 4 years old. It has never given them any digestion problems and their coats look amazing.My one complaint is that the bags sometimes are more vacuum sealed and sometimes less. I wish they were always vacuum sealed tight. They are never open just loose in the bag sometimes.

Size change of bag at a higher cost

Was disappointed in the wastefull plastic in the bag. The package uses more plastic / cost more and weighs less than before . Yes the kcal is higher (apparently) but they recommend feeding more of the kibble - which would result in needing to buy more often. disappointed in the misleading directions and trickery of the company.
