My German Shepherd was on Royal Canin many years ago but he struggled to poop and ended up with backed-up anal glands (TMI I know, but needs to be said). So for years I didn't use Royal Canin again. His tummy was okay with intermittent bouts of diarrhea which we just thought was because he is a GSD and they are very sensitive. He's nine and a half years old now. After three months of consistent diarrhea, two courses of antibiotics, and two vet visits totalling $350AUD, I finally went to a new vet who said I should try the Royal Canin Gastro. It cleared up his bloating and diarrhea within two days. He's on an 'aggressive weight loss' plan so he has 1 can and about 450 grams of the Gastro kibble a day just for now. He is of course losing weight, but his stools have firmed up and they are healthy, and even his skin is clearing up a bit (he had allergies to foods tested years ago and that resulted in a yeast infection that has been very hard to get rid of, malaseb and steroids etc over the years). Point is, Royal Canin Gastrointestinal OBVIOUSLY has worked for my German Shepherd's very sensitive tummy, and thank GOODness he loves the taste. It's a bit pricier than the food he was on before, but if it keeps him healthy, that's a very fair trade off (plus no more visits to the vet for runny tummies saves money, too).

This food has been a game changer for us. We use it as an accompaniment to his dry food and he loves it. Before finding this he was so fussy and feeding time was very stressful, now he looks forward to his meals and eats everything without any fuss and life is good!

My Toy Poodle was diagnosed with Pancreatitis 3 years ago, and this food is the only one that doesn't flare up his condition. He has this wet food and also the Gastrointestinal dry food. He loves them both!

My senior dog has always had a sensitive tummy but as he gets older his tummy seems to get more sensitive. Tried him on this food at our vets advise and the horrible tummy issues have eased up no end. I am now at the point of being able to give him both wet and dry gastrointestinal food which he loves and so does his tummy. 👌
My Border Collie had issues with diarrhoea - couldn't eat bones due to the marrow, couldn't eat anything fatty. He got a tennis ball stuck in his throat & needed surgery which involved removing the ball and stitches inside his throat! Post surgery is when we were introduced to this wet food by the vet, as it was easy for him to swallow, low fat and gentle on his gut. It has been amazing for him. 2 yrs on & he still gets a couple of spoonfuls on both his brekky & tea - rest of his meal is a mix of grain-free dry foods, topped with a bit of sashas blend & coconut oil for the joints (he is 10.5 yrs old and was beginning to show signs flopping down rather than laying down gently, which indicated possible joint issues). It's a big thumbs up for RC Diet Canine ... MoreMy Border Collie had issues with diarrhoea - couldn't eat bones due to the marrow, couldn't eat anything fatty. This is the only thing that solved my very sick dog's gastric problems. Together with the dry low fat gastrointestinal kibble she feeds on, she has put on weight, her coat is now thicker and she's a happier dog. Customer service from Petcircle great and prompt delivery every time. Thku
Purchased this brand because Hills Prescription was out of stock, WILL NOT BE BUYING ANYMORE. Labelled as low fat gastrointestinal, there is no ingredient labeling on the cans so fat content is unknown even though Vet thought would be OK. Seems to be manufactured in European Union somewhere unknown. Majority of inscriptions are in foreign languages. Is more expensive than Hills Prescription although is a slightly larger can. Our dog is a red healer suffering from acute pancreatitis, consequently his diet is critical, when opened the product has a very strong odour, it is mixed with our own no fat dietry food (As is the Hills when available), the Royal Canin product causes diarrhea which the other product does not. CANNOT RECOMMEND, SORRY.
Have been feeding this and the associated dry food to my dog for 18 months after we almost lost her. Vet recommendation. Due to shortages had to try a different brand which did not work for us. Highly recommend this one.
Pet circle are a great company to buy from. Packaged well & delivered in a timely manor. Sometimes the royal canin gastrointestinal low gi is not in stock, so I do have to purchase elsewhere. It’s a popular product & I completely understand logistics/stock availability can be difficult- I recognise this is no fault to pet circle & always check online first to see if you have it. You are by far my preferred company to deal with. Thanks pet circle, I appreciate you.
My 3yr old Moodle was recently diagnosed with Pancreatitis after many months of diarrhoea & vomiting & odd days of feeling unwell. Since putting her on the Royal Canin Gastrointestinal diet food, she is nearly back to normal. She doesn’t mind the food as her only source of feeding & we recently purchased the same brand in dry biscuits to supplement the textures for her.
