Brought about 2 weeks ago and it hasn't done anything to any stains upon carpet or sofa, even juice my son just spilled it didn't even remove that stain fully. It all seems to work as it should but it just isn't picking up the stains or marks very disappointed as it was an expensive purchase.

I am really pleased with this bit of kit. Having researched for some time to find the right carpet cleaner for me, this one is the one. It not only looks great, but also works really well, having such powerful suction. Easy to use and efficient at cleaning. I wouldn't recommend it for those who wish to clean a whole room - I tend to clean small areas of carpet at a time, usually being the high footfall areas where the carpet is most punished. The carpet comes up a treat with very little effort. My only niggle would be to echo a gripe I have read in other reviews - the clean water tank tends to drip water when you least want it to, and this is rather irritating. However, overall, top marks for this carpet cleaner

He said that he had used all the other popular brand names like Hoover, Dirt Devil and others and found them to be a joke compared to Rug Doctor. I was a bit disappointed. I’ve used a different brand carpet cleaner before which l preferred. I bought this particular cleaner because it had the extra feature of cleaning hard floors but it leaves alot of excess water on the hard floor mode and it is very difficult to push along as the rubber part on the bottom rubs against the floor and sticks on the ground so does not glide smoothly. It cleans carpets well and does a good job on stair carpet with the attachment.
A waste of time and effort. The machine did not spray water. I spoke to staff at Rug Doctor who made various suggestions which did not work. I purchased a second machine which had the same problem. The Rug Doctor commented it may be a bad batch.
When I removed the hose from packaging it dripped lots of water on my carpet. I filled the water tank with recommended solutions but when I turned it on the water was not flowing through as though it had a blockage. I rang Robert Dyas and was promised a response in 3 days it is now over 5 days and I am still waiting for collection and refund. I uploaded a photo of scratches and scuffs also present in my email to customer service.
Pros: Very impressed with this! With two little dogs and a light coloured carpet my stairs were looking a bit grubby and I found using a full size carpet washer too awkward. This little machine got my stair carpet looking brand new.
Left the floor quite wet after. The upholstery tool was good with suction but the hardwood and carpet cleaner head didn't seem to have a good enough seal on laminate and rugs. So was left wet. Worked well on a rubber gym mat that had some cushion in it
We moved into a new house with wooden floors, tiles and carpet. Rather than purchasing different floor cleaners for the different surfaces I decided to give this a go. It does a good job mopping, though leaves surfaces a little wet and the carpet damp, so best do it on a nice sunny day .It lifted stains in the carpet from pets (yay), however did not cope too well with dog fur. It pays to vacuum first to get rid of larger mess or animal fur before using. It really picks up a lot of the dirt, happy with results.
