I needed to clean some 10 year old carpets which had food and drink stains, foot and shoe traffic, outside dirt and pet stains. Rug Doctor was the best choice because it came in a 2L concentrate which made it cost-effective as it covered multiple rooms. It did a good job making the carpet look about 95% new and left no residue. I could probably achieve 99% but that requires many times more physical effort and depends on the carpet cleaning machine.
