I have found the steamer easy to use and very handy to prepare meals with the multi functional baskets. Different veggies can be added to the various baskets to ensure that everything is cooked in a timely manner. It has been fantastic for steaming rice with perfect results achieved every time (and no rice sticking to the saucepan is a bonus!). The only drawback I have is with the limited bench and cupboard space in my kitchen and it does take up quite a bit of space. Thank you for the opportunity to test this product. It has encouraged me to steam more veggies adding healthy sides to the family meals.

I used this to cook raw chicken tenderloins for a curry, which I usually do in the oven but often overcook them, which I then cut into pieces. I was honestly shocked at how easy and stress free using this steamer was! I simply put the chicken in, turned the timer on (I gave it almost half an hour, unsure of how long it would take) and when the timer dinged it was cooked all the way through and juicy. It's so easy and the plastic steamer sections are so easy to wash, too! I also cooked frozen baby peas in the steamer instead of adding them to the frypan as I usually do, and ... Having previously (20 years ago)had Russell Hobbs appliances and this brand back then being a quality and more expensive option because of this, I was looking forward to using this product. I like being able to steam all of my vegetables in one appliance rather than using seperate saucepans or the microwave oven. Vegetables retain their flavour. I cook vegetables that take more time first then add to extra veg to same bowel depending on time needed . It is convenient and simple. Rice doesnt stick it is an appliance I use nearly every day
I was impressed with the Russel Hobbs Cook@Home Food Steamer. I liked the way that the baskets fitted into each other for storage. They were then labelled 1,2,3 to show in which order to place them when putting them back on the steamer. The lid had a handy handle for lifting it off the steamer. It started rapidly and you could see the condensation as it quickly started heating. I really liked the spouts on the side where I could add extra water if needed - which meant I didnt have to take off all the baskets to add more. The extra drip tray was convenient so food particles did not drop into main heating element. I would definitely consider buying this product when needing to purchase a steamer. It did the job well!
Love using the Russell Hobbs steamer. It's one of my favorite buys. You can cook vegetables, along with rice and fish at the same time, it makes things so convenient. Compact it down to a smaller size for storage. Easy to clean. Just a note, when you are about to start cooking, start with basket 1, as it is the smallest basket, and it will seal the steamer and then 2 and so on. When you are done, use basket 3, 2 then 1, helps with storage space. Easy to descale with vinegar. My only issue with this machine is that the baskets are plastic and I prefer not to use plastic.

Yesterday I made homemade baos in it and the tiers meant I could start steaming and not have to make a tray load whilst waiting for the water to boil on the stove, it was also super efficient in the morning to re-steam the baos for my kids lunches. Negatives - the first tier is a bit small (can only fit 4 baos), the base of the tier baskets warped a little after the first use and I hand washed them, the container ... I like how this product allows me to steam multiple items at the same time for the whole family. You don't have to use all three layers but we end up using all three layers because it's extremely easy to use. Just pop your items in the different layers, such as pork buns dumplings, vegetables, fish. Then add the water and turn the steamer on! Presto! In a little while you'll have a banquet ready with very little mess. Lastly, it's very easy to clean, you wash with hot soapy water and there is no need to scrub. Great steamer.
The steamer is a great addition to any kitchen. Having the three tiers has made it easy to cook an entire meal with minimal clean up. Cooking rice has been fantastic and allowed me to get rid of my small rice cooker. Being able to also steam vegetables at the same time have been perfect. I also like being able to add water without having to disturb the steamer and lift lids. It was very quick to heat up allowing the food to be cooked faster. I would have preferred that the baskets not needed to be used in a particular order. It would have personally been more convenient for me to be allowed to use any basket in any order.
