Good compact thicknesser. Easy to lift on and off the bench. Handles native hardwood well. The only downside is the dust extractor port, it should be 100mm to fit standard dust extractors.

Worked well so far, used on multiple occassions to plane Pine sleepers & Pailings. The dust collection port is not compatible to strandard industrial vacs, have to buy some extension or remove the cover to let the chips flow out. Height adjustment is a bit off by 1-2 mms. Can't seem to find much products in this range, value for money!

A great tool for the workshop (when you everything else). Easy to setup and operate. I built a trolley for mine, so I could wheel it around ( or outside) of my workshop. Follow operating instructions for ease of operation. Good value for money.

I've always wanted a thicknesser and more recently with my DIY capability I gave in and bought one. I can do so much more that I have a renewed zest for experimenting and doing more.
Not overly happy with this product. All my othe Ryobi tools have been excellent. Had to spend 2 hours correcting/adjusting 2 issues. One, the height scale ruler had been stuck on in the wrong position. Had to modify the needle as it did not have enough adjustment. Also had to adjust the cutter height to correct a tapper cut.Have also had an intermittent issue with the feed rollers not feeding the material thru when handling long lengths over 2m
I have a number of Ryobi tools which I’m very pleased with. Easy and reliable to use. So I got the thicknesser with the same confidence I had with my other purchases. Unfortunately the thicknesser was rubbish and caused me a great deal of grief. Wood getting jammed on only the slightest turn to try and cut wood. Burn marks on my wood from rollers still trying to get the wood through even though it got jammed. So it’s gone back and I’ve now purchased a dewalt thicknesser. Hope it’s not a sign of things to come for my next purchase.
I bought a Ryobi Planer Thicknesser from Bunnings a few years ago. I was busy with a renovation project during lockdown and one of the feed roller chains broke. Bunnings are the agents but a special request for a simple chain could not be done because of the restrictions. I was forced to click and collect a new machine to finish what I was doing. I later was to find out that spares were no longer available. The chain used was specific for Ryobi - not available from any other merchants. This made me regret ever buying Ryobi . I also have a Ryobi electric planer, drilling machine, grinder, orbital sander and heat gun. It's not great. The first one I had didn't feed very well, the timber would stick half way through and need a push / pull the replacement was much better, for a while. Same problem. It's better than nothing but should be so much easier for to get a result.I have talked to another owner with the same issue. Crappy design somewhere.I'd not recommend it.
I have had this machine for a few years, it was bought as a present for me, I have used it a fair bit. There is no way this machine could plane 3mm of a pie e of soft pine. It is not powerful enough and the timber wouldnt fit under the feed bar!Its okay if you are thicknessing small stock only.. I am currently trying to get a replacement drive belt from Bunnings... special order? What!Blades are only tool steel so dont stay sharp for long no option to relace with tungsten. Not a good buyI wouldnt have chosen it myself and wouldnt buy another.
Bought this machine to purely to dress hardwood to build a barn door and table top... and so far i have put through it 19 lenghts of 2100 rough sawn hard wood taking it down from 35mm ish to 25mm... the key to this machine is a Mil at a time, for hardwood it cant handle more than that... and it hasnt missed a beat and that is Alot of passes. You got to have dust extraction system... i use the Ryobi industrial vac and that gets full really fast.My only minor criticism, is that Ryobi dont supply an elbow attachment that fit the planer and fit the vaccum. This is a good machine if you dont push to the max plain depth.
