I am into my third Ryobi saw they only seem to last about 5 hours total work and then the sawblade bearing fails making strange noises and the blade shakes making it impossible to make an accurate cut. I have only ever used it on pine softwood with a maximum thickness of 30 mm. They are rubbish

Excellent good value circular saw

Larger blade and good power compared to the battery variant. Good value if you need a no fuss circular saw.Don't listen to other commenter about lack blades. I haven't found any issues with sourcing blades. I currently have irwin blade in the saw with no issues. The blade comes with what they call a "brush" which is a metal circle that reduces its fitting to 16mm.

Good for only light work

Started good but as I used it more it started to cut on angles. Bolt which holds blade in sometimes comes loose. Pity it does not come with alan key to change blade.Ok for light work only.

Good product. More than capable for weekend warriors like myself.
11 November 2021

Got it for a while. Pretty happy with the product.Being new to woodworking and power tools, i was kinda skeptical because one of the comments said it would be hard to find replacement blade. That was not the case at all, there are 185mm blades everywhere.Only complain is because i dont have a shop vac, the saw dust flies everywhere. I wish there was a dust bag for sale like what Ryobi did for their sanders.

Not great
19 November 2020

I bought this for renovation work. Ok for general cutting but a bit clunky and not very smooth. After a month of use it started intermittently making a strange noise when powering down. I took it back and swapped for AEG 1200w 184mm which was $20 more. What a difference. A much better sturdier product which just works. Cuts straight and smooth to use. My advice, pay the extra and get the AEG

Powerful robust value saw
16 August 2021

Powerful, does the job and good value. This saw is a bit rougher (wider cut etc) than my cordless saw - but is a lot more powerful and a bit larger (diameter blade) and doesn't get stuck in tough wood. Happy I've added it to my power tools.

Required Return

Started to vibrate after cutting only a few benchtops. Same as the 2 star reviews, I will return tomorrow for AEG which is only $20 more. I don't recommend this product due to quality. Happy cutting everyone.

Total rubbish
2 June 2022

These are a cheap saw, so I wasnt expecting trade quality performance. I bought one for some light work I had to do on a job. The first one I bought was being used to cut 90x45 framing timber. It cut fine for about half an hour but then it started pouring smoke from the motor. I turned it off and it continued to produce a large amount of smoke. Thinking it must have just been a bad one in the batch, I went and bought another. The second one was also a dud. This time I was cutting chipboard and using a straight edge to guide the cut. It was impossible to cut a straight line. When I checked the blade and the cutting deck, I discovered they were not square, and not adjustable! I ended up having to do my cuts freehand. Warped base plate
2 April 2022

I've had this saw for 1.5 to two years now, Not sure as I can't find the receipt.I purchased a better blade with a higher tooth count from the outset to ensure better, cleaner cutting but right from the start, I found the saw to be lacking any real cutting power or even the ability to make a straight cut, even when compared to the 15 year old GMC that it replaced.Because of this it only came out when I couldn't use either my table or drop saws and always left me completely frustrated while using it.In this past week I have needed to cut a number of sheets of Melamine for new wardrobes but no matter how much effort I put in, I could not stop the saw running off the saw guide rail I set up to make it cut straight. In the end, after much wasted time, I discovered that the base plate is warped diagonally and this is causing the saw to both rock and deviate through the cut, resulting in a variation of as much as 5mm from one side to the other on a 445mm cut.Its going back to the store tomorrow, I don't know how I will go without a receipt, but I do know it's a manufacturing problem, either poor design or poor material or both, as it has been like this from new and also as it is under 3 years old, it should still be under warranty, 4 years according to Ryobi web site.As the old saying goes, "you only get what you pay for." Spend a bit more and go with a more reliable brand.

Won't outlast it's second blade
26 December 2022

Returning my second one of these. First one burnt out. Second one, the shaft has developed a lot of play. It seems the bearing has gone meaning the blade moves side to side and not cutting straight. The saws haven't outlasted their second blade.
