We were after an additional battery, and one slightly larger without being an industrial sized version. The 4.0Ah was just the right size. Larger than the 1.5Ah and 2.0Ah versions, without being overly large like the 5.0Ah and 6.0Ah versions. We also picked this up on promotion with the included standard charger which made for a great deal.

Love the Ryobi home use tools, from the compact space saving and neat storage concept to the one battery for all tools is awesome, it’s good to have a large 5.0Ah and a 2.5Ah batteries, reason is if your up a ladder needing to work on windows or working on downpipes or even brick work or timber fascia the 2.5Ah is light enough while supplying sufficient power to carry out the tasks. While the 5.0Ah battery on my whipper snipper cuts through 75sqm and 3inch long lawn while still having 1 bar of power left in it and it’s cutting through buffalo grass.
Bought two Starter Kits to have the 4.0Ah batteries on standby for continuing use with my new Pruning saw, Pole Pruner and Ryobi old Reciprocating saw . Was going to buy just two 4.0 batteries but a Bunnings staff member said if I bought two Starter Kits I would save a few dollars and get two more chargers.
18V ONE+ system makes my life so much easier when working on my house, gardens, & car and camper trailer, extremely easy to use system with all my Ryobi battery tools. Never seem to put a job off anymore because the set up and pack away with Ryobi 18v ONE+ system is so quick.
The 4.0Ah battery is convenient, reliable and longer lasting. The charger is compact and efficient, and slower charging, which inhibits overheating, making it safer.
Great battery, has plenty of power and lasts a decent time. Works well in various tools as expected. Charge time is pretty quick too.
Both the battery and charger work well and can be used in all.my Ryobi ONE tools. The only minor change from previous chargers is that you can't screw the charger to a wall so it does take up space on the bench when charging. Small thing bur could be improved.
I recently purchased a hedge trimmer (R18XHTR10) and a combo changer and battery (R18SKP4) to tackle an overgrown hedge. The trimmer performed brilliantly, the 24mm cutting capacity came quite handy, as I mentioned the hedge was overgrown and this was not light maintenance trim.The 4Ah battery gave me just under two hours of hard work which was quite impressive.I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend the Ryobi brand.
