The cutter does cut some products a light chain link it could not cut thru. Pad locks would be the same issue. Manual cutters better suited for this project

Bought this just to remove and old pad lock from a gate at our new home. Turns out it has a lot more uses, and sees a lot more use than I expected. Strong and sharp and powerful. Cut some bolts, locks and wire shelving so far and nothing has stopped its pinch yet.
Not sure how these would work for various jobs around the house but as a truck driver these are perfect. Definitely a good buy for cutting those bolt seals on trailers.
I bought this ro cut all the wire closet shelving in a 70 unit apartment block. Really saves you from repetetive motion injury. The only criticism of the tool that I have is that the hardened steel jaws work themselves loose and need ro be adjusted closer back together frequently. Orher than that its a great tool for mild steel.I would not use it regularly to cut hardened steel lock hasps as I dont think it is designed to withstand that kind of use.
It bit into the bolt quite well. However, I found a key as I was working, so removed the lock without the tool. I do plan to use it to cut a metal shelf to put a small barbeque on.
They make my job alot easier.You don't have to struggle with a normal pair of cutters.,just press a button to open and press to close .

ive got other cordless units that obviously work a little better but for 1/10th the price this ryobi is fantastic, i converted it to m18 so i cant say anything about the factory battery but ill definitely be buying another cutter
