This is a decent sander for the money. Ate its way through the set of 6 supplied papers pretty quickly but comes with a handy hole punch to make cost effective replacements out of standard A4 sheets. The clip is a little flimsy but holds the paper tight once down. Not too much vibration through the hands in use and seems fairly quiet for a product of this type. Recommended for less than 30 quid.

We put dusting sheet under and thought maybe there will be just a small amount of dust, but the whole living room ended being covered in fine dust which literaly settled everywhere, so not very good job with the collection bag provided at all. We would not recommend Ryobi EOS2410NHG 1x4 Sheet Palm Sander for the reasons stated above.

OK But not brilliant
5 June 2011

Bought this sander to flatten artex on a ceiling. It performed very well with regard to the sanding, but it did not collect much of the dust in the collector bag.One of the problems I had was that it kept stopping, I thought I kept pushing the on/off button, but no, it stopped working completely. Also the rubber handel cover started to come adrift.Had to take it back for another make. Full marks to B&Q they changed it after I explained what had happened.

Perfect!
23 May 2017

I bought this to replace the black and decker mouse I had - that went "bang" after only 5 uses and a week over the year from purchase. However, the ryobi is amazing. Cut through the sanding job in no time at all and is so very easy to use. The only downside is that it makes corners and little tricky as it hasn't got a "cornering edge". Powerful and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this product.

Rubbish sander - twice!
11 April 2020

I pulled this sander out today after not using it for a couple of years. I quickly remembered why I hadn't used it - it's rubbish! The first one I bought had a faulty switch and the quick-fix levers broke off almost instantly. I returned it and had it replaced only to find the levers break off the second one just as quickly - obviously a design fault. Then just like the first one the switch started to play up. Even with usable levers the quick fix system is fiddly and useless. The sandpaper falls off after only 20 or 30 seconds of use. This is such a shame as I have had several Ryobi products over the years and they have all been good quality, reliable tools. I'm not sure what went wrong with this one. Ryobi EOS2410NHG 1x4 Sheet Palm Sander
18 August 2013

After the coarse Velcro sheets had been used, I looked on the internet for replacements but could not find any. I found a number in Sheffield which sells Ryobi spares and gave them a ring to be told that the Velcro sheets were discontinued. I was going to use a regular sheet but the clip for securing sand paper broke off as soon as I tried to open it. The bottom pad which holds the Velcro sheets was also showing signs of wear after not much use. I returned the sander for a refund.

Utter rubbish
31 March 2017

Waste of money. Dust bad completely ineffective. Creates more dust than my de Walt with no dust bag. Vibrates too much so sanding a ceiling is actually painful. Save your money, you would be better off using a pole sander.

Vibrating aluminium pad bent
2 September 2020

I bought this item a few weeks ago and it was great until I accidentally dropped it off the side of the work bench onto the concrete floor afterwhich the entire side of the vibrating aluminium pad bent upwards pretty much rendering it unusable so I now need to buy another sander. I better be a bit more careful next time otherwise appears it would have been a good product.
