The RYOBI 36V 46cm HPTM Brushless Lawn Mower will make mowing medium to large lawns a breeze. It has an LED Dashboard that lets you choose between 3 cutting modes: ECO mode locks the blade at low speed and gives great runtimes. Ideal if you mow your lawn regularly. SMART mode allows the mower to control the blade speed for a better-balanced performance. POWER mode locks the blade into high speed for the best cutting performance. Other features include LEDs that flash when the catcher or mulch plug haven’t been fitted correctly or when it could be time to change your blade, and a battery fuel gauge lets you know how much charge is left without having to stop and check the battery.

Awesome mower, great performance in eco-mode.

There's a slightly cheaper model without the X, which I'm guessing is basically in permanent "eco-mode" without any power boost option. That model would be fine for most mowing, and is a bit lighter. But for 70 bucks more I prefer this model for the extra power if needed. I think both smart boost and power mode does chew up battery though. I probably won't be using smart boost, since I noticed it did apply more power than I think was needed.

It’s fine not to pay someone to do it but at least have the right tools if you are going to do it.Cons: it’s a good bit heavier than the 18v version. Feels much stronger and more powerful but is noticeably heavy. For me that’s a good price to pay for the time it save and the quality of the mow.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT & WARRANTY

I have a decent size property and had looked at a number of different battery operated mowers over a few months and I found the Ryobi 36v HP Brushless mower to be by far the best value. The build quality was superior to the rivals. The ability to be able to adjust the pushing height was a contributing facto so my wife could easily operate the mower and me being 6'2ft tall it is a lot easier on my back. The power output is excellent with the smart power mode making mowing higher grass a breeze. The ability to add a second batter for longer running time and power was a massive bonus.I have paired the 6.0ah battery and a 4.0ah battery and it works really well.Along with all the bonus listed above the 6 year warranty on the mower & 3 years on the battery was by far ... MoreI have a decent size property and had looked at a number of different battery operated mowers over a few months and I found the Ryobi 36v HP Brushless mower to be by far the best value. The build quality was superior to the rivals. The ability to be able to adjust the pushing height was a contributing facto so my wife could easily operate the mower and me being 6'2ft tall it is a lot easier on my back. The power output is excellent with the smart power mode making mowing higher grass a breeze. The ability to add a second batter for longer running time and power was a massive bonus.I have paired the 6.0ah battery and a 4.0ah battery and it works really well.Along with all the bonus listed above the 6 year warranty on the mower & 3 years on the battery was by far the best on the market and no other company came close.I can highly recommend this product.

Good mower overall, gets the job done.

Got fresh turf laid and wanted a new mower to go with it. Several mows later and I'm happy with the mower overall. After seeing how powerful it is, I definitely wouldn't want one of the 18v or lower power 36v models. I haven't bothered with the eco or auto modes and just leave it on power mode all the time, which allows me just enough battery time to get through my whole yard with the 6ah and a 4ah battery. The deck seems quite decent despite being plastic, although the addition of a wash port would be nice. Biggest downside is that parts like the handle and wheels feel a bit flimsy as there is a bit of play in them and doesn't feel as well built as some of my other Ryobi gear. And I've had the handles come loose when mowing along the fence line as they stick out. ... MoreGot fresh turf laid and wanted a new mower to go with it. I recently moved house and now have a front middle and back lawn which the old 18v 36mm budget Ryobi could not handle (Previously only had a small patch of grass), so after struggling with that old one sinking in the grass that I only had time to mow once or twice a month and the 18v batteries always running out (waste time waiting for charging), I decided to get this Ryobi 36V 46cm (18") 6A battery version. The battery charges much quicker than the old 18v as the charger has a built in cooling fan which you can hear when it charges away. It got to full charge in about an hour. One charge could handle all 3 lawns + the big nature strip in front of the house with 50% charge left so I am very pleased with this. Note the left side is for a spare battery which does not give power to the lawnmower so is a gimmick which most ppl will avoid as for starters, a 2nd spare 36v battery is costly which you have to pay extra for and secondly it literally weighs like a brick so you have to push an additional weight around which is no fun unless you mow lawns for your own fitness! The grass catcher works (there are a few Ryobi models where they dont) perfectly but i wish it was larger so I dont have to empty it halfway. It has 10 different height adjustments compared with just 3 for those budget 18v variants. Even half way can cut the grass quite short.I dont know anything about motors but when pushing it up a hill, it makes an additional effort when the grass is tough. While it is a bit heavier than the old budget 18v 36cm, I got used to it in no time. The extra 10cm is well worth it as it saves time and I was surprised at how quick it was to finish the lawns.Overall, it is worth every cent and with the current price of petrol so high, this is a great investment lol

Purchased the 36V HP Brushless mower to replace petrol 470mm cut. With a good 450sq m couch lawn, a mower works to keep it well groomed. The battery mower has done two winter cuts (lesser length to come off) with a single charge, impressive for almost an hour of mowing. The cut is acceptable and grass pick-up exceptional into the soft catcher.Being lighter than the "gas burner", the mowing task is easier. Summer growth will dictate any need to purchase the additional parallel battery (very expensive!).A negative for this product is the design of the cutting blade height wrt the base of the mower. I purchased this lawnmower one month ago and am quite disappointed in it. I have a well manicured medium sized couch lawn. The skirt of the lawnmower drags on the mown lawn making it very hard / heavy to push, turning what was an easy task with my previous electric lawnmower into a tiresome and difficult job. I have tried raising the height in order to alleviate the problem to no avail. I was unable to try the product on lawn at Bunnings and pushing it along the aisle does not give a true example of how difficult it is to push on the lawn. To the designers of this product - the skirt needs to be higher in relation to the cutting blade. After one month the grass catcher bag split along one of the seams and had to be replaced - not a good sign for the longevity of the ... MoreI purchased this lawnmower one month ago and am quite disappointed in it. The additional exercise I am getting pushing against the friction caused by the dragging skirt will surely have me looking like a weight lifter in no time.I have a number of other Ryobi products and am happy with them all but not this one and suggest anyone looking for a new lawnmower consider another brand and source it from an agent where it can be trialed on grass.

Not that good.

I bought this mower as a replacement for another Ryobi 36V mower that failed just after its warranty ran out. Since I had an expensive Ryobi battery, I figured it made economic sense to get another Ryobi. So what's different between this Ryobi and the previous one? It's a lot higher, so it doesn't go under shrubs as easily. It weighs a lot more, so it's more tiring to push around. The handle is much narrower and really uncomfortable to use, designed for a person with a very small frame. Gone is the battery indicator on the handle. If you want to check the battery charge, you have to open the battery bay. I thought having two battery bays was great - until I found that only one is electrically connected. If you want to check the battery charge, you have to open the battery bay. I thought having two battery bays was great - until I found that only one is electrically connected. The other is just a battery holder. The idea is that it saves you walking to get a second battery. But it means you have to push around the mower with the second battery, which is quite heavy. The height adjustment is now a stupid design. You push a button and then have to manually lift the weight of the (heavy) mower up or down. It's hard to get precise height adjustment with this method. Anyone with a light frame or with physical issues would find it impossible I think. The grass catcher is now cloth, and is quite fiddly to attach to its metal frame. It fills quite quickly. (It is possible to attach the plastic catcher from an older Ryobi.) This is marketed as a mower "designed for Australian conditions." I would say it's designed for Australian conditions by someone that doesn't do a lot of mowing. On the plus side, it cuts grass... but is it worth the high purchase price? NO.
