I've recently bought a house with a few large trees in serious need of trimming and the 36v was the obvious choice for the extra grunt and to compliment my 36v line trimmer. So far it's not been used to cut branches thicker than 20-25cm but I was very impressed with how easily it did. It will be used on much larger trees and have no doubt it will take them in it's stride. It's also fairly light and well balanced making it a breeze to handle. Having a 2.0Ah battery in my line trimmer I find that the 4.0Ah battery is the perfect size giving plenty of run time while also not being too weighty. While the entry price is a little steep you are getting good bang-for-your buck especially if you are looking to start or expand your 36v Ryobi collection.
