I have been after cordless chainsaw for a while, did my research and this came up tops plus it compliments my other Ryobi One Plus tools.I have used it in the garden several times, it is relatively light, easy to handle and manoeuvre. It has a good quality feel to it. Does the job just fine, no messing with electric cords or petrol. The 30cm suits myself however the 20cm will be easier to handle and use but you don't get the same cutting power.... Show more

Awesome wee saw
Bought this only a week ago. I'm soooo impressed. It's primary use will be to cut firewood around the camp and it has exceeded be expectations. Easily handles 200mm-250mm (8"-10") logs. I can gather enough wood for a week with a couple of 4AH Batts and we run a campfire and a 10L thermette for Hot Water. Saves faffing around with fuel/oil mixing and pull starts. Just pick it up and go! Oh, and batteries are all charged off our solar panels. o off grid +++.... Show more

Cordless 12" Chainsaw 4.0Ah Kit
I absolutely love this tool. It is the third Ryobi tool that I have bought. Being an older woman and not having much strength it is very easily manageable and starting is no problem (not having a cord to pull). And the 18V battery is interchangeable with the other tools I have bought.Absolutely Fantastic!... Great!!
I've used the chainsaw 3 times now, for a total of about 90 minutes constant use. It's not as powerful as a petrol one, or 240 volt unit - I've used both - but it does a great job. Ive easily cut through branches up to 100 mm thick! It's not too heavy (I'm almost 70 years old and find it to be ok) and it easily rips through timber. And it is fairly quiet.I've used it on soft and hardish wood.I highly recommended it.Having said this, I would like to see a bar oil visual level incorporated, as you are required to remove the filler cap to see how much oil is in the reservoir ... Just an idea.Cheers Bill... Show more

Great Features in a 18V Chainsaw
Easy to use 18v chain saw, for a portable electric saw. It was important to myself it had a reasonable chain speed and automatic chain bar oiling, and as a bonus it has chain tensioning without getting out the tools. These features make my use of the chainsaw simplified. Having spent a weekend cutting down old fruit trees I am please how long the 4amp battery has lasted, this is no toy.... Show more

Great Little Chainsaw - Amazing longevity
I mainly use this chainsaw for cutting up firewood on my property and trimming trees. The Ryobi appealed to me as it seemed to have a good battery and I had purchased Ryobi products previously which have lasted me for years. The saw is easy to set up and fill with oil, and the battery charger works well.Usage is made easy by the light construction and solid handles. The chainsaw cuts really well and just as the instructions say, you don't need to push it. I can cut about 30-45mins worth of firewood in one charge. The saw easily does what I need it to do and I expect in the future I'll be able to use the battery on a Ryobi cordless drill skin some time in the future.A great value chainsaw kit.... Light weight and better than expected
Bought to clear light bush from fence lines on a small acreage. Light weight to carry and good value for money. If you are doing more than light work the 4Ah battery likely needs an upgrade. My 2Ah batteries from my One + drill lasts only 5 minutes and gets quite warm. The stock chain is surprisingly good. Probably not for cutting firewood from Australian hardwood!... Show more

Like a hot knife through butter
Easy to assemble (you need to put the chain on). The instructions are easy to understand and follow. There's a guide printed on the chain bar as to the direction to fit the chain. Chain tension is a simple process (explained in the instructions). A small amount of chain oil comes in the box (enough to get you started) but buy more so that the chain doesn't dry out and go blunt. Batteries don’t come with this kit. It’s the bare tool so a battery will be needed. Once you push the battery into place and pull back the safety guard, you can press both buttons in the handle and let the chainsaw do its work. My first try with the chainsaw was on a 4 x 4 fence post and it went through that like a hot knife through butter. A small tree and a hedge, no problem. The chainsaw ... I wish I'd bought a chainsaw years ago but this one is great value and perfect for those of us who just need to cut bushes and small trees without a heavy, smoking, noisy petrol engine.... Show more

Quiet and powerful chainsaw
Took a tree down on my property a couple of weeks ago. The trunk needed a large saw, but branches were about as thick as my legs. The Ryobi battery powered chainsaw was perfect for the job. Quiet and powerful enough to cut faster than my petrol powered saw. Even cut up a scribbly gum branch that came down a few months ago and was very hard. Battery lasted out for over 50 cuts without losing any power... Show more

Worthwhile Purchase
I'm so happy with my Brushless Chainsaw. Its so light and easy to use. Yet it has the power required to cut down several trees that needed removing from my yard. This Chainsaw is very quiet also which is another thing that I just love. Cost affective because i can use the 18V battery and Charger that came with my Chainsaw.... Show more
