This chainsaw is epic!! We use it to cut firewood for our woodburner and have been so impressed with the power and ease of use of this little machine. It is surprisingly easy to use and maintain too, just needs some bar and chain oil every now and again and a chain tighten which you can do easily and it keeps on rollin! It's also nice and quiet for a chainsaw which is helpful for those late arvo dashes to get a bit of firewood haha. It's also super durable, like this little thing just doesn't want to give up ahaha! The amount of times i've got this bugger stuck in a big log and it survives being yanked out lol. But seriously, if you're looking for an easy firewood-getting companion that needs pretty much zero maintenance and works like a dream, get this ryobi one babes!

Amazing tool. We really tested its limits and it went above and beyond our expectations. We were able to cut through thick soft wood tree limbs. It has been very handy for all the yard work we have been doing and it’s easy to tension the blade.Would have been really nice if it came with the chain oil though.

I have other OnePlus tools but was hesitant to get this based on some of the reviews saying it was only light duty. However I am very impressed. So much lighter, quieter and more pleasant to use than my big 2 stroke, plus takes up way less space in the car and doesn't smell of petrol. It can easily fell a tree as thick as a man's thigh and cut it up for firewood all on one 5ha battery. I will only take my petrol chainsaw for winter camps in the high country where a huge fire is needed, or other heavy duty use, even then i'd probably pack this little beauty for redundancy -everyone else at camp saw it in action wants one too! Just buy some bar oil and empty it back out before transporting, easy.

Firstly to answer a few FAQ lower.Sharpening angle is 30°.The Ozito 12v chainsaw sharpener for $45 is a no brainer. Check out my comment there. If you have less than a 15m gumtree in your back yard it will do it's job. And YES the bigger the battery the better the performance. I have a 2.5, 5 and 9amp. But each has a purpose. Not going to bust my wrist putting screws in on a 9amp but my 3 speed Impact Wrench wont even operate on the 2.5amp. So each to their own. This saw goes gang buster. And to all them saying it leaks everywhere....tip it back into the bottle of came from. Did 4 separate chops and put the oil back into the bottle (3min) zero issue.
Great chainsaw for the money, especially for camping. If using it for it’s advertised purposes, it’s a great unit that punches well above its weight. However, it’s certainly not a pro saw or designed to replace a huge 2t saw. Great for cutting stuff for a fire off a fallen tree, but it’s not the tool to use for cutting down a tree or really thick stumps.Would recommend, just wish that ryobi had a more powerful saw that used 2x18v batteries instead of a single 36v.Can be heavy on batteries; I take 3 batteries and that’ll let me do about an hour. I have a suspicion that the batteries get too hot before they run out of charge, but it’s not too much of a deal breaker. I would think anything more than an hour is probably in the territory of a small 2t saw.
Bought this unit about a year ago, used it mainly for camping trips in the bush.Worked flawlessly and could cut a Ute tray full of firewood before it had to be cooled down.Unfortunately whilst storing, the chainsaw oil reservoir begin to leak, slowly at start and I didn’t think too much of it then it gradually increased to the point I had to return it.Would definitely give it another go.
Fantastic little chainsaw for the backyard or camping. It's a little heavy on batteries and performs best with 6 or 9AH batteries. The others work for light applications, but they die off quickly and the saw bogs if pressured. With the higher capacity batteries though, it's great addition to the kit.Doesn't have the grunt of a petrol unit and you have to let the chain do it's work and ease through, but it's surprisingly effective, quiet, light and simple to use.One you get used to operating it a little differently to a petrol unit to get the best out of it, it performs admirably. There is a slight delay to start up at trigger pull, but nothing significant and once your used to it, no issue.I used it to take out 2 decent sized trees over the course of a ... Awesome bit of kit that is quite capable and performed above expectation straight out of the box. A 5ah battery achieved 25+ cuts through seasoned hardwood limbs up to 20cm diameter. Most tools fail for being pushed outside normal parameters and if you want to cut a trailer load of firewood go elsewhere. If you are looking to cut a bit of camp firewood off grid or clean up around the house then it'll be perfect if you have basic chainsaw knowledge.
I bought cheapie $100 Saw a bargain I thought. Spent to whole day trying to get it started and busted my finger on the rip cord. Returned it to the non Bunnings store. Purchased a Ryobi chainsaw as I have other Ryobi tools and was happy with them. A great little tool easy to handle and super sharp from start to Finish a 6 metre high and 40 Cm wide all gone in a flash. The best thing was stopping after a cut to decide the next branch to cut it starts up right away unlike a petrol driven saw that would be running all the time.highly recommend and a great addition to the other Ryobi collection. I am extremely happy. BC
I have gone through three replacements. The bar tightener has a design flaw and will not adequately tighten the chain after just a couple of hours use. Ryobi say they have not replacement for this flaw. I have gone through three chains this winter alone. During my last use the chain came off the bar while operating - VERY DANGEROUS.
