The vac option not really user friendly. Now I have too many bits floating around when vac not in use. Will probably never use the vac now or simply use this as a permanent vac and buy a stand alone blower. I had can electric one before that transitions from blower to vac with the flick of a level. Works beautifully I just didn't like the cord.

I bought an earlier model Ryobi blower/vac, and now after 10 years I have had to replace it. I had no hesitation to buy another Ryobi blower/vac. I have only had it for a week, but I hope and expect to get many years of service out of it. The new model starts easier, runs quieter, and has a number of extra features on it that the old model did not have. I have not used the vacuum feature yet, but I certainly did not have any problems attaching and removing the necessary parts on the earlier model, so don't expect it to happen on this new model.

I have had this unit for several years and it has never missed a beat. Highly reccommed to everyone. Even after leaving for a few months I was able to clean flue tank with a flush and away we went.

I use this product almost daily in my job. I had some concerns after reading some bad reviews, but since it has the same motor as my weed-eater that I have hammered for about 16 years, I took the punt. Unlike many reviewers, I have found it easy to start, provided you follow the instructions. I have used both blower and vacuum. The vacuum is very good, provided leaves have been mounded (works well for hedge trimmings too- if it is light trimming). Ensure that the manual is read and you won't burn holes in the bag. Very happy with the product and highly recommend it.
I bought one two days back, opened it up, wouldn’t start, shoulder is dead now. Tried it with Ryobi EasyStart, still wouldn’t start. Returned it for a new one, started after 10 minutes of trying, lasted 2 minutes and died. Returned it. Don’t buy it people!
It worked great for the first few months. Powerful and did a great job. Put it away over winter in the garden shed. Pulled it out gave it a clean checked everything over, spark was good, fuel line clear, etc ......... 4hrs later, a pulled shoulder and a lot of swearing and it won't start. I will put it with the Ryobi chainsaw that I have replaced 5 times. This will be back soon and I will be getting my refund! Extremely disappointed!
I had one that could not be started and replaced it assuming I had mistreated it in some way. The second lasted a couple of years (coincidentally, the period of the warranty) and became progressively harder to start. Gave the model one last chance by buying a replacement but could only start it once. Bunnings tell me they have an expert that can always start them and I don't doubt it but this is a domestic tool and shouldn't need an expert. Gave up and returned it for a battery kit which will just do the job given access to at least a couple of batteries.
I bought this about 3 months ago, from day 1 it was a problem. If you use it for 20-30mins and turn it off and then try and restart it it will not turn back on for at least 40+ minutes (this occurred 20+ times to me over the 3 months and at first I thought it just needed "wearing in" but persisted till it never started again after 3 months)The zipper broke after only 2 weeks and I needed a replacement bag, but the only replacement bags were the wrong size and slipped off the tube unless zip-tied on.The original bag and the replacement bag both got holes in them (within a week for each) as the bag was only able to be attached in front of the exhaust. The vacuum attachment sucked leaves up about as well as I could with my own mouth unless they were piled ... MoreI bought this about 3 months ago, from day 1 it was a problem. The vacuum attachment sucked leaves up about as well as I could with my own mouth unless they were piled up.The vacuum attachment tube was very hard to remove by yourself as it locked in place.
If you’re burning holes in the bag when vacuuming then you are holding it wrong.Strap round your neck and hold handles with both hands out in front of you. The leaf return pipe to the bag should look as though it’s coming out the top of the main until which sits at your chest. This way the bag is at the top of your left arm/shoulder and nowhere near the hot motor. Anyway awesome unit just hurts my back a little if I don’t stand up straight.
bought from Bunnings and runs great But!! the vacuum bag zipper lasted one day!! and not covered under warranty and I was instructed to buy a more robust bag at a further dost of some $47 but after one year I cannot purchase this bag as unavailable, I am using paper clips to keep the bag closed....
