Sam's Pantry Apple Crumble Protein Bar 5 Pack

Convenient. This product was easy to find on the shelf with it's distinctive Sam's Pantry logo and bright colours. I do like the packaging graphics. Packaging: Love that the cardboard packaging is from recycled board and can then be recycled again. I did';t find it easy to open the packaging - it tore and stuck together. There is nothing to indicate if the plastic packaging can be taken back to the store for recycling. The box could be made a bit smaller as there was easily room for another bar to fit inside. The packaging does say that it is 'created equal for all hungry tummies. ' but that isn't really true - it contains milk products and peanuts two of the biggies that people can't consume. I do like that the product is Australian made but was disappointed that it only contained up to 20% Australian ingredients. Not too happy with all the sugar that is in this product in different forms. Protein content: was 9g per serve. I don't know that I would be choosing this product if I was wanting a protein bar. Maybe it should be called a nut bar.... Would I buy this product again: Mister 27 enjoyed them and would happily buy this product to take on a mountain or trail bike ride where he using a lot of energy and needed something easy to eat. I would buy them if I was looking for this type of product.

I see minimal nuts as in the main picture but I do see a fabulous coating of yoghurt at the bottom which makes them look very appealing. I cant detect any dried apple pieces. Tasting the bar you are immediately struck with a sweet smack in the face. Goodness there must be a fair amount of sugar in these babies I see golden syrup might be the culprit. I can detect some cinnamon but absolutely no apple at all. I would have been very excited if they had some sort of crumble topping. To me the description is completely wrong. There appears to be no apple or crumble in these bars. A very sweet snack but the snack doesn't match the description on the pack. I would love to see these revamped with some visible apple pieces and a definite apple presence in the bar flavour. There could be much less sugar in these also. While we are at it a few more nuts wouldn't go astray as there are many more in the pic than appeared in my bar. I'd likely not buy these again in their current form. My preference is to keep buying the nut bars as they are an accurate source of deliciousness to devour in my afternoon snack frenzy. But thanks for the opportunity to try these bars.

Apple crumble just like granny used to bake. Ok lets get real here my grandmothers were the worst cooks in all time so thankfully I did not get their cooking genes. But this apple crumble bar is actually really nice. I was lucky to get another flavour in the Sam's Pantry range a year or two ago and have been buying them since. I had not tried this one so was good to get out of my comfort range of the peanut butter ones. Until finding these I avoided muesli bars as they tasted like cardboard with sugar on them. These seem to only have the good stuff in them without all the cardboard fillers. I like how they are Australian made. Bit sweet for me. We all took one of these bars to work and there wasn’t any complaints from my husband but he wouldn’t complain about much when it comes to food. He is the human seagull. I personally found them a bit sweet. These bars are suitable for vegetarians and are gluten free. They have a health warning saying that they contain peanuts tree nuts (almonds) milk soy and sulphites. May also contain other tree nuts and sesame. Good to see they are proudly Australian made and owned but not sure why then they are made with only at least 20% Australian ingredients. Apple tasty goodness. I sadly didn't get to try one of these as when I went to grab one for work the box was empty! I guess this speaks volumes as well as when I saw them added to the shopping list. My son and husband both really enjoyed these bars. They both commented on how it was nice to have a muesli bar without a huge oats percentage. They are crunchy tasty and the flavour was just right with the real apple pieces. The mix of nuts and apples flavour was perfect. They both enjoyed the yoghurt base as well. I especially love that they are Made in Australia. I have since purchased several of the other flavours and they have all been delicious they are a regular for us now. AMAZING! I didn't know what to expect with these but I was really pleasantly surprised when I tried one. On the front of the pack it doesn't say these have yoghurt on the bottom of the bar though on the picture on the front you can slightly see that. However I really like that it does because it adds to the flavours. These muesli bars have a wonderful texture and flavour. The pink lady apple really shines through and the texture of the apple crumble compliments it so well. These felt more like a dessert to me than a simple muesli bar and I ate the whole box over the duration of a week and didn't share! hahaI went back to get some more but they were sold out I'll try again next time. Lacklustre flavour. Firstly it's a stretch to call this apple crumble flavour. I couldn't taste any apple at all. Checked the ingredients and there's 1% apple. I thought maybe the crumble part would be cinnamon-ny... Eh can't taste that either. As a nut bar though this is decent. I love that it has a yoghurt base. I love even more that I wasn't chewing on nuts the entire day unable to swallow it fully. Texture was the best thing about this. It is sold as a protein bar and yes it has 9g of protein which is.... Decent. It also has 8. 2g of sugar so you could potentially call it a sugar bar. How about we call it what it is a nut bar similar to a muesli bar (but without the muesli). She's not generally a fan of apple in this sort of thing but she reports that the apple isn't an overpowering taste. She was also really happy with the serving size saying a bar was just enough to 'fill the gap' until dinner. I was happy to see the 'gluten free' claim on the front - as we are always on the lookout for coeliac friendly snacks. I was also happy with the Proudly Australian Made and Owned sign. The price point of this product is also really competitive - particularly for a 'nut heavy' bar (which are often quite a bit more expensive). Overall I will probably purchase this again. Personally I'd like a thinner cover or none at all I think it was the cause of leaving me with a funny taste in the mouth. Bringing my lips to you there was an instant flavour of Pink Lady Apple. Suprisingly although there's not much apple ingredient the flavour is there leaving me wonder how you've tricked me!
