After trying to use this to download images from a CFExpress Type B card, I now own a nice paperweight. Very disappointed in the performance. There was initially an issue with recognizing the card using Adobe Bridge photodownloader. After finding a workaround, the images could be downloaded , but there is an issue with how photodownloader handles the remaining images on the card for subsequent downloading. I learned that Windows identifies this as a SCSI drive which Adobe is apparently not able to recognize. I have posted to Adobe Community and there has been no fix for this. SanDisk (Western Digital) was contacted with no solution for this issue.

Nice weight and feel. Has rubber feet for bottom. Has really cooled down some of my hotter CFEx type B cards. It's designed to fit into the Sandisk pro dock 4, which is pretty pricey. I'm holding off buying the dock until I see more format support. They also need a pro blade adapter that fits the dock. This reader is arguably a bit big for a portable laptop reader, but the heatsink and cooling of the cards is worth it for me.

This aluminum reader works as advertised and is at least as fast of the Sony XQD reader it is replacing. It most likely has nothing to do with functionality, but it feels solid and good in the hand which gives an impression of quality. I think it cost slightly less than the plastic Sony XQD reader while feeling more substantial. Emotionally, I feel like this product is a better value than the Sony was. A potential downside is that the reader is roughly 1/3 larger than the Sony XQD reader so it is rather large for a card reader. However, large for a card reader is still not very big.

First time using it was able download 202 21MP photos from Import to ready to edit in the Develop module in Lightroom in 40 seconds - about 1/4 of the time required compared to my laptop's now defunct card reader. First time use was scary; W11 sees card ok but when trying to copy many files at once it failed. Only solution so far was drag each file over one by one. CF Fast card was from Sandisk D version for my 4 K ursa Broadcast B4 model camcorder using UHD BRAW. Second use experience will be soon as have 60 large BRAW files to copy (fingers crossed). I'll update how that goes. Note: I could find no manual for this single CF Fast card reader, and there is a dearth of user reviews as well. I got error messages first time, next time I'll picture.upload any W11 errors. Product specs note W10, so not sure about W11.
Ok, so here it goes: W11 system, at times, mostly when trying to copy many files at once; the USB-C port would lose the SanDisk Cfast reader ! error message was drive not found ! So unplugged and re-pluged C-USB type cable back in and PC found again the SanDisk Cfast reader. It helped to just copy a few files at a time rather than a whole bunch of files. I'm sure problem is PC machine related as the CFast drive eventually is always again found by PC; just adds a bit of scary to process as files, if lost, would be about 2k$ cash lost ! Remember, there is no driver, and no manual. No safe-to-eject feature as well. It's plug and play and cross your fingers.
Just got it today so cursory comments. For what it is: build is adequate for intended use, cheap junky frame doesn't rattle, all three slots loaded with preformated chips so it's running cool with no heavy traffic as yet. The micro chip slot is a bit deep so slightly tedious to extract but springs out with the nudge in to just get the nib. This little jewel will help with a lot of little transfer nit bits and holding pens and ever so such clutter from short shooting sessions. The little feet look precise so I might even get another one to lash on top for double the pleasure. If they're handled roughly I suspect it'll break, duhhh! Wouldn't you too? Considering what this card reader is for, the design and quality seems spot on. Go figure.

Given that micro-SD card adapters are ubiquitous, a dedicated slot for micro-SD cards is really unnecessary.
