The most important feature of a knife is that it cuts well and this bread knife cuts beautifully whether it be a soft bread loaf or a hard crust like a stone baked loaf. The handle is well balanced which is always an indication of good craftsmanship and the knife looks good on the kitchen bench. A quality product for the price.

Heavy, solid knife; extremely sharp; effortlessly slices sourdough and other crusty bread. I got rid of my electric slicer as it took up so much bench space - not missing it at all.
I bought the scanpan serrated edge knife as a general purpose knife in my fish and chip ship.It is very well balanced so as to disguise its true weight and makes it feel light yet powerful in your hand.Its blade is extremely sharp as I have found out the hard way. It slices through hamburger buns that can be quite tricky when very soft. My only gievance would be the edge of the blade becomes very thick at the tip making the buns be a bit grabby when finishing the cut. As we cut hundreds of buns a week we know what is the easiest most efficient way of doing it. As to wether I would get another one I only would if they were to bring out another model with a thinner blade.living with it every day I still enjoy using it and it does perform all its tasks well a little ...
