Bought for a holiday in North America, in the spring 2024, for a mixture mountain trail, boardwalk and turf. Currently wearing in the house, to break in, but, they feel great for the job, as main footwear. Noticeably firm around the heel, with excellent side wall stability and stiffness, which will support any heavy heel strike and twisting, when upping the pace of walks, they have a good mid sole rigidity and depth, fabric on the upper is lovely and thick which will need protective spray to try and keep at it's best, the tongue is padded and rigid, which give me confidence it will be affective in the wet, though of course, a shoe will never provide that much confidence in any water crossing over a couple of inches. I recently bought this. This is hardcore quality. It is sturdy, robust and has a very high end feel to it. Perfect for those hikes and trips when you feel boots are just not needed.

Absolutely love these shoes. I bought them before my trip to Alaska and didn’t take them off 8 days in a row. Comfortable, waterproof, stylish.

Absolutely love these shoes. I bought them before my trip to Alaska and didn’t take them off 8 days in a row. Comfortable, waterproof, stylish.
Excellent shoe, a bit on the heavy side of things compared to other shies made of thinner fabric but then this one is finally fully waterproof and my feet are dey and warm. Great traction and I like the classic look.
I bought these last spring. They look nice, decent comfort, but durability is suspect as the fabric started ripping after one year of light use.
This is my second pair. Bought before the first ones have worn out - just to make sure I can get hold of them. They are that good! Stucky sole, comfortable shoe and very waterproof, even without regularly reproofing.
Great looking trainers and very comfortable to wear. Excellent for long or short walks over rough or smooth terrain.
I ordered two pair to see which would fit. Sent the pair back that were too large and the refund was done immediately. For me Scarpa shoes fit very good. Been wearing them for years. The service from backcountry as excellent.
I have had these shoes for about a year and have used them for day hiking and travel. The last fits my average width feet well and the shoes are holding up great. The shoe fits perhaps slightly small, I often wear a 43 but 44 fits better for this shoe. The sole is quite stiff which I like for rougher trails. The shoes are a little heavy but I see that as the price you pay for such a supportive, solid shoe. I would definitely buy these again.
HORRIFIC FIT (and Scarpa hiking/approach shoes typically fit me like a glove!). To my frustration, the problem with the fit was: too narrow IN THE MID-FOOT. At least if it was too narrow in the toes / forefoot, you typically know it right away, so by the time the issue manifested, I had already dirtied them.I have a WICKED HIGH pain tolerance too so unless a shoe is REALLY causing issues to the point where I can't wear it, my MO is: grin and bear it. NOT POSSIBLE HERE.Before those with narrow feet get excited, there are some other things you should know about this shoe:1. GRIP (stickiness / tackiness on solid rock) is TERRIBLE (although I feel accurate with what Scarpa told me): ‘similar to Vibram MegaGrip, but slightly less sticky’. GRIP (stickiness / tackiness on solid rock) is TERRIBLE (although I feel accurate with what Scarpa told me): ‘similar to Vibram MegaGrip, but slightly less sticky’. FYI: Vibram MegaGrip is NOT sticky rubber and pretty terrible and these shoes (which have Scarpa’s Presa SuperGum) had worse grip on solid rock.2. Random Foot Pain (in places where the fit of the shoe was fine – i.e. toes / forefoot region): I’ve tested COUNTLESS shoes and have only had this happen on TWO OTHER occasions (and in BOTH of those instance – prior to the random foot pain – my foot bottoms were aching due to those shoes being overly stiff). I suspect something similar was occurring here because (while these shoes were not nearly as bad as those 2 prior instances), I did find the bottoms to be a bit too stiff for my liking and causing mildly achy feet, particularly in the toe area, as a result. What’s crazy is: I NORMALLY prefer a stiffer shoe than most (living in a place with LOADS OF ROCKS… AND doing ultra distance). So if I feel it’s too stiff, most tend to agree! And for the those familiar with the AB Flex Index, I’ve taken up to an A6 just fine (and these shoes felt stiffer!!!).There some are positives: traction (aka grip on loose footing) is excellent as would be expected with the huge lugs and the shoe has excellent protection and excellent cushion. However, just do your research… there are MANY shoe options where you can get aggressive lugs, great cushion, and protection (or epoxies that can be added to a shoe that lacks protection)… SANS all the many negatives of this terrible shoe.
