Nice yellow color to differentiate between diesel and gasoline (unless you are color blind). Holds fuel very well (no leaking). Pours fuel very well (depending on who is pouring). Should last me the rest of MY lifetime (unless I run over it with the tractor). Easy to see in a snow storm (due to being bright yellow).

Possibly the most DANGEROUS can I've used.DANGEROUS: the flame arrester bs that they stick in the fill-hole prevents the diesel pump nozzle at the gas station from going into the tank far enough to have the auto shut-off work, thus spilling fuel everywhere.Should be illegal because it's so dangerous.DANGEROUS: The pressure needed to open the nozzle valve breaks the filler tube off the tractor, spilling fuel everywhere.AWKWARD: You have to push a spring loaded lever up with one hand and then crush the back of the nozzle with the other hand somehow without crushing your fingers all while trying to press the nozzle hook against the filler tube and while holding it in the air with your third hand - the one you have to suddenly grow out of the middle of your chest. ... MorePossibly the most DANGEROUS can I've used.DANGEROUS: the flame arrester bs that they stick in the fill-hole prevents the diesel pump nozzle at the gas station from going into the tank far enough to have the auto shut-off work, thus spilling fuel everywhere.Should be illegal because it's so dangerous.DANGEROUS: The pressure needed to open the nozzle valve breaks the filler tube off the tractor, spilling fuel everywhere.AWKWARD: You have to push a spring loaded lever up with one hand and then crush the back of the nozzle with the other hand somehow without crushing your fingers all while trying to press the nozzle hook against the filler tube and while holding it in the air with your third hand - the one you have to suddenly grow out of the middle of your chest. spilling fuel everywhere.CANT GET ALL THE FUEL: The angle to get all the fuel out of the can is impossible if you are using the nozzle the way you are supposed to. spilling fuel everywhere.SLOW TO FILL the tiny valve and nozzle are further slowed by the air return tube in the nozzle.DANGEROUS: Finally made it usable by breaking all the safety crap off and stabbing an air hole in it. Stabbing an air hole is optional since the air return tube is still in the nozzle, but it comes out faster if you do.

It is a fuel can, designed to hold diesel. It works & doesn't leak - not sure that performing its intended function warrants 5 stars though....there isn't really anything exceptional about this type of product. The service in the store where I bought it (couldn't find the product initially as didn't know where it would be & I was shown to the location by staff) was exceptional though.

I purchased this can at the S Bristol TN Lowe's. All I can say is Do not purchase this can if you are trying to put fuel in anything (tractor, truck, etc). They should not make a can without a second handle. After getting someone to help hold, could not get fuel out of the spout (it leaked a lot, yes double checked and everything was tight). And yes did following the directions on the website on how to properly use the can to get fuel out before someone from the company says check the website. The fuel spout on the can is also useless, since it is not bendable(should not have to purchase an accessory to get the can to work. It should have been included). Finally got a funnel to use, but still couldn't get fuel to come out of the fuel spout.Ended up going and ... MoreI purchased this can at the S Bristol TN Lowe's. Finally got a funnel to use, but still couldn't get fuel to come out of the fuel spout.Ended up going and buying a pump so I could siphon the diesel out, but that won't work due to design of the safety mechanism.Lowes won't take the can back, since it had had fuel in it. So I'm out $30 for the can.I would give this can lower, but one star is the lowest you can give.
It thought the US government and all its "no spill / no-vent" fuel container regulations had ruined gas (fuel) jugs. Nope.... this one takes the cake. I bought this fuel container at Lowes. I made the mistake of buying it with cash. Took the jug to the closest diesel station, filled it up with $15 worth of fuel, then something broke in the stupid valve assembly and I couldn't get the fuel out of the jug.... at least not through the small hole. Removed the spout, sloshed fuel all over everything, including my tractor. Took this $24 piece of junk back to Lowes a few days later where I was informed that they couldn't return it unless I had the receipt. Well, that (like everything else that goes into my pocket) was gone. UGGGHHH. Do Not Buy! The pour spout is absolutely a horrible design. You will spill more diesel on the vehicle, on yourself, and on the ground than you will get in the tank. Even with the cap tightened down, diesel will pour out the lower half where the spout meets the cap. Holding this 5 gallon can while trying to push the pour release is extremely difficult. I made the mistake of buying two without reading the reviews first. Wasted money on product and diesel everywhere but in the vehicle!
This container may meet all the specs for compliance with current regulations, but it doesn't meet mine. This is the most difficult to use spout/valve, awkward to hold and pour, 5 gallon container I have ever used.I would love to ask the designers if any of them filled it with five gallons of diesel fuel, weighing approximately 35 pounds, held that valve open with one hand, while trying to use the top handle to tilt and pour the fuel into a vehicle? Really? Gone out in the parking lot and done it? It might work if there were a handle on the back side of the container, but this thing creates back muscle strain and spills. Alternatively, the user could hold it by the valve with one hand and tip it by holding the bottom of the container, but now you're supporting the ... MoreThis container may meet all the specs for compliance with current regulations, but it doesn't meet mine. Alternatively, the user could hold it by the valve with one hand and tip it by holding the bottom of the container, but now you're supporting the weight on the discharge valve. Not safe to do.Sorry, but unless I can find a different discharge valve for this container, it's going to be relegated for accumulation of used oil.
After I got this home, I regrettably noticed how difficult the push on button works. Also, it lacks the second back handle to help pour this...those of you who pour into a tractor fuel tank, will know what I mean. I returned this and bought a different design (2 Handles and easier turn on spout) and cheaper can at Harbor Freight. Lowes was great for the return. My bad for not seeing this first...Love Lowes otherwise.
The spout is extremely hard to open. It has a locking "feature" that ensures it won't open accidentally, or on purpose for that matter! I returned the product the next day. I considered this fuel can useless!I wanted the yellow diesel container to visually separate it from all my red containers. I will label my red containers and stick with what I have.Don't buy this container unless you want to be annoyed and frustrated with it.
What can I say about this fuel can? It's bright yellow and it holds the diesel I need for my tractor.20L is a decent size, not too heavy to lift and hold while topping up the tank. Of course my tank is about 38L so I need 2 of them.I never let the tank get below 1/2 full as ther4e may be times I need to use the tractor and I don't want to be caught lacking fuel. The venting seems to work well enough, just remember to have the vent tube at the top when you are pouring. They're a better deal when on sale, and if you can catch a sale as well as extra bonus coupons it's even better.I think every farmer, contractor, construction company, landscaper and those that want to be any of the above have at least a couple of these on hand and it's because they are basic, ... MoreWhat can I say about this fuel can? It's bright yellow and it holds the diesel I need for my tractor.20L is a decent size, not too heavy to lift and hold while topping up the tank.
