I had bought a pair of winter boots that fitted perfectly in the shop and seemed to be really comfortable. Only after wearing them while shopping the following day did I realise that they weren't that comfortable and my foot slid about a little more in them that I realised when trying them on.Could have been an £85 big mistake with those boots, but since popping this insole into them they are now perfect! Such comfortable insoles which provide great cushioning to the feet - perfect for shopping, walking a few miles etc. Do not slide about and look like they will last for a long time.As others have mentioned, they are quite thick and have been perfect for my boots. Not so sure I would have had the same result in a more dainty court shoe for example?Either way ... MoreI had bought a pair of winter boots that fitted perfectly in the shop and seemed to be really comfortable. I have a problem with my latest golf shoes which have the "studs", etc. built into the underside (sole) of the shoe. I can feel every ridge, stud, etc. through the soles of my feet! These insoles got me round 18 holes but, unfortunately, not well enough for me to want to repeat the experience. Everyday Scholl insoles were of no use at all.

I was given a pair of these insoles to try out. I admit I don't generally like insoles for a few reasons. These were a pleasant surprise. You can trim the toe edge to fit your shoes better so that is a nice feature for customization. They have a sort of sticky rubbery bottom so that helps them stay in place much better than some other insoles. I think it probably needs a particular type of shoe to take these insoles - ones with enough room for the height of them. For when they do fit, though, they're amazing. I'd been using Odor (sic) Eaters in my house shoes for ages. They're supposed to last for 4 months but at the height of the summer were burning out within a week or two. This Scholl version are so comfortable and do absorb the odour. You can give them a wipe/sponging occasionally and that's all you need. The price feels high initially but they last so long you really get your money's worth. I've been using Odor Eaters for ages but I'm a definite convert to Scholl now.
These may be very comfortable if you're a size 12 (or close to it) but for a size 7 not. When cut to down to fit a size 7 boot the ridges are under the toes. I only used them for one 4+ mile walk and my big toes didn't thank me for it. Didn't feel "right" from the start and left my big toes sore for hours after. I've since switched back to using the originals.
Bought these to replace a pair of Cushnstep insoles which I have used in walking boots for some years. Thought Scholl quality would be worth paying the extra money for, but very disappointed. The heel area was ok, but the sole section was unbelievably thin and certainly did not give the feeling of comfort I had expected. Even after years of use the Cushnstep insoles are still far superior. Eventually put the Scholls in a pair of normal everyday shoes where they will be ok. Certainly not worth the money!
So I think these insoles are great but initially a little tricky. The problems started when I tried to insert the insoles into some of my favourite boots. This proved to be quite a challenge as the gel bottoms kept getting stuck and I wasn't able to push them through to the front of the boot. So unfortunately couldn't use them with my boots. Next I tried some of my regular shoes I wear to work. Again it took a little bit of time to get the insoles in which can be a little annoying when you are in a rush in the morning. I guess this would mean you would need to buy a pair of these insoles for each of your shoes so you don't have to keep removing them which could work out quite costly for what they are.Once in my regular work shoes they worked a treat. I had always believed the reason you would use an insole was because the shoe was slightly too big and it was to bridge the gap and make sure the shoe did not slip off, wearing an insole for comfort had never dawned on me.I had the ladies Gel Activ Insoles which state size 5-8, I am a 5.5 in trainers but a 6 in boots. The insoles come with a guide so you can cut them down to size but I didn't cut mine.I work in an office and sit down most of the day but would still have tired feet at the end of the day from my many trips to the printers, I was dubious if these insoles would make a difference. The insoles are soft and as the name suggests the insoles have gel activ technology to take the pressure off your feet. I tried these out in my work boots and instantly felt the difference, the insoles were springy and soft and fit well, at the end of the day I didn't feel like I had walked 10,000 miles.I have however found the insoles are not that easy to transfer to another pair of shoes; I tried to put them in my trainers for the gym but found they did not fit. This could be because I haven't cut them but if I do then I am worried they won't fit in my boots.
I bought these 3 weeks ago and am very disappointed with them.I have been using their much cheaper impact insoles, which are brilliant, but I decided to try the gel active. They feel great for the first few minutes, but gradually seem to lose their comfort. After a couple of hours you don't feel any springiness. It's like you've got nothing in your shoes. Couldn't possibly wear them all day.The other thing is they make your feet unbelievably hot!! I've normally got cold feet, but even I found them too hot.Complete waste of money - I'll stick with the impact ones.
my husband says these work pretty well but he didn't think they made the ground underfoot feel less hard. They are very floppy, so it's hard to get them into position, especially at the toe. I think the triangular plastic piece on the back is meant to be used to help place the insole, but there's no instructions about it.
