I use this all the time for flat surfaces. When pulling apart mating surfaces use a putty knife to separate. Or you will pull paint off wall.

I’ve had this Velcro before and ran out. When you put these together it stays together. Even the adhesive on the back is strong. I had a problem getting sun to charge my security lights using the solar panel so I used this Velcro, place it on the bottom of the solar panel, and stuck it on my tile roof. We’ve had rain and heavy 65 mph winds and it never moved or came loose. This holds up to 10 pounds and I believe them. I’ve also used this to hold down decorative garden items around our pond and it has held up very well so far even in the high winds here in Las Vegas. The only thing I’d warn anyone about is don’t use it on the inside of your house as it WILL pull off paint and drywall. I was using zip ties but got tired of cutting them and unable to reuse. These are reusable and provide same strength in keeping tight rolls on cables to reduce space.
Works well on painted wall. After 1 year a near-maximal load is peeling the paint (horizontal bond) but a vertical bond with the same length and weight have not moved. Also these are 500/500. If you regularly remove items, find 250/400 for one side (less stems) so the 500 side is not stressed too much. Google for more info.
I tried using this to secure the Velcro portion of my soft top for my truck to the tailgate for a more weather tight fit. The tape came off of the tailgate in the heat of the day. My truck is dark grey and does hold heat but I was hoping it would hold up better than it did
The description did not state that this was essentially two halves of the same material; it does work fine, but I was really looking for the old style "velcro" which was two different halves that mated together. (Which would have worked out better for my application.
Just purchased. The package includes two four foot hook sections and no loop sections. The two hook sections attach to each other. So if you are using the pieces in the package, you have only one four foot section to work with. The final price with tax is about four dollars per foot. Yikes! Note: These pieces may attach to other brand loop fasteners. I recommend this product ONLY IF you do not have another solution for your situation.
This is great for my classroom. I have stuck bulletin boards up with this and they dont come off, no more nails! or command tabs that pop off
