I was sent this product free from 3M to evaluate. This is very useful for many things.I used this to temporarily fasten down several plastic tarps while moving. In the past I just tucked the tarps under boxes or placed bricks on the tarp to prevent blowing away. I was used to seeing at least part of the items uncovered. When I returned to check my items - what I expected after a windy night was everything uncovered. WOW what I discovered was with the 3M - Scotch™ Extreme Fasteners held tightly. It seemed the tarp didn't even move. The fasteners once placed on the clean tarp and my plastic container was almost unable to open up. I am very impressed the the quality of the "holding" ability. This product is a must for anyhousehold and any professional or handyman.

I bought these to mount 2 small speakers inside a motorcycle helmet, because they looked like they would hold the speakers in place more securely than regular velcro. Mounted the speakers, and everything was going great, until the other day. It was a nice spring day, but apparently too hot because it caused the glue on the strips to melt to the point that when I pulled off my helmet, the same way I'd done hundreds off times before after I put the speakers in, both speakers fell out like there was nothing holding them in place at all. If 1 set can hold 6 pounds (according to the packaging) then if it's cut into three 1" squares, each one should hold 2 pounds, and I know each speaker weighs less than 1 pound, so the strips didn't fail from trying to support too much ... MoreI bought these to mount 2 small speakers inside a motorcycle helmet, because they looked like they would hold the speakers in place more securely than regular velcro. I've used regular velcro on the speakers since, and they're not as secure at holding the speakers in place when I put the helmet on or take it off, but the glue on the velcro is so stuck on after higher temperatures, that I don't think I'll be getting it off with any ease and without a lot of time.

This being the real test as we live in Arizona and the sun loves to melt any adhesives. So far so good there, with the adhesive holding strong as well as the fasteners. The second things I used it on was to attach my sons game case to his PS vita case so he would stop losing the games. It was easy to measure out the length of strips needed and apply to the case. The backing to the adhesives comes off without a struggle allowing for quick application. He can't do it on his own, I have to help him, and I worry that the amount of force I have to put on the case to push the two strips together will break something. I wonder if these are not really meant for repeated separation of the strips. With that being said the product size is sufficient for any project, easy to apply, and holds extremely well.
