Sea to Summit Aeros Down Pillow (Grey, Large)
The Aeros Down Pillow is the lightest fully-fledged down pillow on the market, thanks to the consistent use of ultra-light materials combined with a TPU-coated air chamber and a down cover. Lightweight, warm, and comfortable are the characteristics of the premium down cover, which is used in conjunction with the proven 10D material from the Spark series. Differently shaped air chambers prevent the shifting or compression of the down when inflated. For enhanced comfort, the spring core runs around the front of the pillow. The rest of the pillow is made from lightweight 20D material. The Aeros air chambers feature a unique TPU coating that ensures long durability and protects against moisture. The horizontally arranged air chambers create a three-dimensional surface that optimally supports the head. The multifunctional valve of the pillow allows for easy inflation and deflation, as well as individual comfort adjustments.

I've used this pillow doing sections of the Superior Hiking Trail, I did the Art Loeb trail in 3 days, winter camping min Minnesota (the reason I bought this down pillow), and more. I can say, it's helps on those cold nights for sure. At only 0.4 oz heavier than the ultralight pillows, the slight added weight of the down won't be noticeable. Before this pillow I only had the Sea To Summit Premium (size regular). That pillow was larger and slightly heavier.I think the size of the down pillow in regular is adequate, but as someone who moves around when I sleep, my head does find the edge of the pillow, whereas the premium regular was just big enough that never happened. This doesn't bother me about the down pillow, I still reach for the down over the premium, but ... This doesn't bother me about the down pillow, I still reach for the down over the premium, but it's worth noting. The only reason I would not take this pillow is if I know it won't go below 60 F at night, which is a pretty hot night. When it's that warm and I sleep on my side as I usually do, my ears might get a little bit hot. Not enough to wake me up, but it's a consideration. I'd call this a 3.5 season pillow- I'd only consider my other options in July/August, or if I'm in the Australian outback or somewhere comparably hot.I've never had an issue with leakage like other reviewers have. I use the included stuff sack which is impossibly light. I haven't used the Sea to Summit sleeping pad attachment out of sheer laziness, but that would be a good idea (I use the S2S Ether Lite insulated).

I don't like inflatable pillows. In fact, when car camping, I'll usually bring my normal pillow, even if I have to play luggage lego in order to fit it in my car. A friend convinced me to try this one, and maybe I'm ready to leave that big pillow at home now. This thing is comfortable. It's soft, the size is good enough, and you can easily adjust the air pressure - even in the middle of the night, in the dark. And it packs small very, small. Ok, this thing is expensive, but you'll bring it everywhere...!

Sea to Summit combined feathers with air in its latest effort to make a camping pillow that is lightweight, packable, and comfortable. The Aeros Down is a new take on the company's existing Aeros pillow, offering a quilted, down-filled pillow top. While at first a little skeptical, we discovered the down cushion to add some comfort. It actually takes the edge off the reverse pressure that comes from most inflatable pillows. In the end, the only skepticism we still have centers on the price tag; however, adventurists looking to cut weight without losing comfort will probably be happy to ante up the extra cash.

Great pillow, it’s nice to have an air pillow with insulation on it, helps out a ton on those cold nights. If you like your pillows softer be aware if you don’t inflate this pillow all the way it crackles like crazy, but if you keep it at 80-100% inflation its really not a problem. That being said this is an ultralight pillow, you really shouldn’t be looking at it for car camping there are some way comfier options out there. Packs down tiny, weighs nothing, awesome little pillow! Also just a heads up the large size is actually more of a regular sized pillow, there is no small in the sizing. It goes regular -> large -> deluxe
I only shopped with Moosejaw because they had a great deal compared to other sites. Interesting rewards program. A legitamate business would recommend and buy from this site again. If you're curious about the pillow I use it daily now and it feels better than most pillows ive ever slept on at home. I put a sheet over the pillow because I don't like sleeping with polyester fabrics that would be my only complaint. Packs surprisingly small and truly comfortable pillow an excellent design by seatosummit
I was surprised when I received this item as I thought it was a down pillow but it turns out it’s an inflatable pillow with just a thin layer of down. I have used smaller inflatable pillows and find they are superior to any camp pillow I’ve tried. A super compact and lightweight luxury. Haven’t tried this one yet but it can only be even better than smaller down-less versions. I feel this will need a something as a pillowcase because washing down isn’t something you’d do frequently but pillows(cases) need to be cleaned often.
I was able to test a similar sea to summit pillow in REI, but this one was not available to test, unfortunately. I was hoping that the down top would provide a nice cushion for my ear as I sleep on my side. It didn't. The down top provides next to no padding, and the material that encases the down is slippery and not plush at all. Ironically, the bottom of the pillow has a plush covering that would be much more comfortable to rest your face against. I also bought the pillow because it was the tallest of any inflatables that I could find, and at 4.5", it's still not tall enough to lay on without my neck being bent downward (I would not say that I have overly broad shoulders, but maybe a little wider than average).Inflation and deflation was easy, the pillow weighs ... The valve system seems robust, and the pillow holds air throughout the night. I fit the pillow inside the hood of my mummy bag, and it stayed right where I wanted it, but it had a tendency to move if I put it under my sleeping bag, and on top of my sleeping pad.Overall, I think that the added expense to go with the down model isn't worth it for a pillow that is just OK. While it might be OK for some side-sleepers, it was not thick enough for me, and it did nothing to alleviate a sore ear when sleeping on my side.
I bought this for my wife but need to return it as it's too small. The large size Aeros packs very small, so even for an ultralight, I couldn't see needing to go with the regular size. The down isn't any softer in my opinion than the Aeros Deluxe pillow and therefore I couldn't justify the increased cost. Also, the top is not as soft as the Aeros Deluxe pillow. It's smooth nylon. Probably washes well (I'm returning this one so haven't tested, but seems that it would). Oh, and I don't believe that Sea to Summit sells a pillow case for this, so if you don't want the slick cool feel on the top, go for the Deluxe. The Aeros pillow case they sell (I don't own one) appears to be contoured like the Aeros Deluxe and may not fit this well, but would be great if they did have ... I have been using this Pillow for a few months now and I can say that it is my favorite inflatable camping pillow to date. I have tried two other inflatable pillows and one foam pillow before, but none of them were comfortable or supportive enough for me.The other two inflatable pillows were either way underinflated or were like sleeping on a rock, and the foam pillow just provided no support, The Aeros Down Pillow is cool, has some decent adjustability of firmness, and thanks to its down top still gives you some compressibility. It also packs down very small, which is great for saving space in my backpack. The pillow can be inflated in about 2 to 3 breaths, and has a quick deflate valve to get all the air out when its time to pack it back upThe only thing that I ... I am a side sleeper and sometimes I feel like I need more height to keep my neck aligned. However, I understand that this is a trade-off between size and packability, and I think that the Aeros Down Pillow does a very good job at balancing these two aspects, i just bring a second inflatable pillow or the stuff sack and clothes trick to get the height where I want.Overall, I highly recommend the Aeros Down Pillow to anyone who is looking for a comfortable and convenient camping pillow. It is well worth the price and it will make your nights in the outdoors more enjoyable.
Bought this a year ago when it was only $65 (man the inflation this year) thinking the down would make a nice pillow top. Unfortunately it’s the cheapest down you can get. You can see the brown feathers through the fabric. Also the fabric the down is sew in is a really thin silky fabric that 1. Is too thin so all the hair/face oils go they into the down and hinder it’s insulating/comfort ability (if it had any), 2. If you camp on the east coast, the humidity will have the top of this pillow in a constant damp cycle. So you end up flipping it to the flannel side anyways. I used this pillow for half my AT thruhike. I have other pillows I like, like the Exped mega pillow. But the hummingbird hammock pillow is my all time fave and it’s only like $16!
