Wet clothing is probably the biggest cause of hypothermia or discomfort on outdoor trips whether it is from perspiration, rain or snow. Hanging clothes every day to air or dry is essential. But clotheslines are bulky, heavy and need to be tied to a tree. The weight of wet garments can tighten a knot and make it difficult to untie. This Sea to Summit Lite Line reduces weight and time spent setting up and taking down a clothesline. It is less than an ounce (25 g), more than 11 ft (3.5 m), does not require clothespins because of its dual cord with sliding beads, and is reflective so that you don't walk into it at night. It fastens around trees with plastic hooks so that tying and untying become a thing of the past. You won't use this for jackets and backpacks obviously ... You won't use this for jackets and backpacks obviously but for lightweight items. like long underwear, anything touching the skin that absorbs perspiration, socks, neck scarves, shirts, hats, microfiber towels and other light items that must be dried or aired daily. It is an ounce well spent. I would even find a way to suspend it in a tent during a rainstorm. It may seem expensive but Sea to Summit makes top quality items that last.

Bought this today and tested it out on the patio: The system is indeed brilliant: pull the garment through the two lines and secure with a rubber bead from both sides, thus avoiding the need for clothes pins. It worked surprisingly well with bike chamois and a bathing suit. The objects were not exactly ultra light and a breeze was gonig. What is disappointing though is that there are only 12 beads on the line, which has a generous 3.5 m in total max length. Most items would need to be attached at two points to allow for proper drying (except maybe socks). Thus: 12/2= 6 attachment points /2 attachment points per garment= 3 items. That seems to be very little. Better than nothing, for sure, but not enough to travel with out clothes pins in my world.I am keeping ... I ended up giving the first to my grandson. He uses it for day swimming and camping. I use mine mostly for traveling and backpacking. You don’t have to bring extra clothespins; makes this one a winner. I’ve never had any problems with cord breakage maybe a little slipping on branches. If anything at all, it’s great for traveling. As you should always bring an extra line when backpacking, or should, and use that for the clothesline.

Normally I like to have an item be at least dual-use, so to have a dedicated coil of line just to hang clothes on seems... at first... a waste. But it's good. Real good. And very small, so I just tuck it in my laundry kit.Having this dedicated clothes line prevents the following:-Wasting other line (like paracord) for a closthesline-having to carry clothespins-finding some other way to dry clothes, towels, etc.when I got the product home, I found that hte line had beend shoved in haphazardly and was quite tangled. I presume that since this came "off the shelf" that it was done that way by another shopper. I experimented with a smaller version of a "rapid-deploy coil" and it tucks inside the pocket just fine--and it is now easy to set up. put it back ... This is the second clothesline that we purchased. We have it strung in a dormer adjacent to the attic. The dormer is not air conditioned but is the outside temp. We hang our yard clothes (Tee Shirts/Shorts, etc) on the clothesline to dry off after yard work, outdoor activities. No wet stuff in the clothes hamper. Easy to set up and take down. A+++
Used this for 10 very wet days on the GA section of the AT. It's OK. The difference between this line and just buying/using some paracord is that this line has these little beads that you can use to cinch up clothing, plus the end with the little storage pocket has a hook for lopping the line back to make a complete circle around something at one end. The beads are only semi-effective. We usually just put the clothing items over the line and didn't try to use the little beads, so this really wasn't any different than just running a cord. Being able to take the line and catch it with the built-in hook on the little storage pouch end was maybe somewhat useful. This thing doesn't weigh much, at least. One last note: this is really only for a few clothing items. It ... MoreUsed this for 10 very wet days on the GA section of the AT. It's OK. Outstanding product. I regularly travel overseas and this has been a game changer for hanging washing. I added a few extra beads (from spotlight) to the line which still packs up in the included pouch. Friends have seen me using this and gone straight out and bought theirs. Outstanding product, highly recommend.
This is a very clever bit of kit. Super compact and lightweight. The pegless system works well. Great for small loads of washing (6 items or so), which is perfect for my purposes. Paired with the scrubber bag, I have my mobile laundry needs catered to. Love the prompt and friendly service from the Snowy’s team. I made a mistake on another order and ordered too much. They were happy to process the changes without fuss.
The Sea to Summit Clothes line fits in your pocket and a great idea. It saves one the trouble of having to carry pegs and carrying inflexible large clothes line when travelling. It would be suitable for hikers, campers, cyclists, motorcycyclists and anyone who loves to travel light. This is the future of travel and truly the bikini version of a clothes line. The icing on the cake is buying it from GetGeared. The website is easy to navigate and the clothes line arrived in a quick time.
Didn't work well for hotel travel. Hard to attach to the miscellaneous attachment points in European hotel bathrooms. Difficult to adjust the length for the varying dimensions of the bathrooms. The hook-based attachment scheme does not support the secure modification of length. I imagine it would be much better for backpacking and the like, where it could be attached trees or branches. The small size and weight are an obvious advantage, for all kinds of travel.
