I am VERY picky about my sleeping gear and can't comfortably sleep on most camp mats. Mostly because I am a side sleeper and throughout the night I will rotate from my left shoulder, right shoulder, back, left shoulder again, etc. Every hour or so I am rotating, otherwise, my shoulders get sore.PROS: This camp mat was padded enough to keep me comfortable as I would roll in my sleep and I never felt my shoulder hit the ground. Bought the now discontinued mummy shape version of this to replace my ancient Thermorest 3/4 sleeping mat, which finally died.No regrets about its replacement, as compact and so comfortable. The inflation bag system is a boon and its high R rating makes it great for even the coldest nights I am ever likely to do in the desert or around central Victoria in winter, or Tassie in summer.Noise is not an issue, for me at least.Recommend the extra width of the standard one, so you have some arm room, but I am happy to shave off the extra weight with the one I have, just to save the extra weight in my pack. I slept on this in the BWCA for 5 nights. Two other people in my group went cheap on their sleeping pads and they popped the first night out. I was comfortable and warm each night, and they froze their butts off and cursed themselves for going cheap. This was our first time ever visiting the BWCA and my first time ever camping in what I would call an extreme way. One of the many things we learned was just how important your sleep system is. I can't praise this mat enough. I slept great for all but one night, and the one night I didn't was because I was too hot in my bivy bag and I couldn't vent it because of the mosquitoes. This had nothing to do with the pad.

I was looking for another sleep pad for weekend backpacking and read many reviews and decided to try this sleep pad. I was surprised how comfortable this pad is!!! I am a side sleeper and had no issues sleeping on my side with my hip or should touching the ground. I enjoyed the 25 inch width and feel it will now be hard to go back to a 20 inch width pad. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is this pad is heavier than other pads but I feel the comfort is a fine trade off for me. I like the duel chambers to fill up and micro adjustment features of the pad as well. I would recommend this pad for the weekend backpacking trip but may suggest a lighter pad if your trip is longer than two nights
Absolutely the most comfortable pad I’ve ever had. Love how small it packs down for our canoe tripping. I got the large and it’s wonderful. The dual layer is phenomenal allowing personalized adjustments for the ground and your comfort. Can’t say enough good things about this pad. Have used it three years in a row now, for our summer excursions. Fantastic.
Had purchased multi pads per reviews of most comfortable. Woke up during the night with lower back pain and never fell back asleep. Purchased this from REI Reused site and was surprised how easy it was to inflate. Do follow the inflation instructions concerning the bag pump. Practice before you go hiking/camping.Woke the next morning without waking up through the night or lower back pain! I have used it a dozen times since with no back pain. I would recommend to place a thin blanket over pad in colder temps. As the cold air in the pad will transfer through the sleeping bag to your body. At least, this happened to me.

In our REI Half Dome Plus 2 they make a perfect floor, side to side, with some space to spare at the head and feet. Able to roll over onto each others pads if we toss and turn in the middle of the night. I am something of a restless sleeper.The Airstream pump that is built into the sack is really quite ingenious. There are two valves on the pad to fill and, once you get the hang of using it, can fill in 4 good pumps. Total setup time, less than 2 minutes.The pad itself is an absolute joy. When you first get in your tent and kneel around and shift into place, it might not feel adequately supportive. However, the second you lay down, it really hits you quick. Kudos to the R&D team at Sea to Summit. The weight dispersion completely molds to your body and you never feel ground whatsoever. This isn't hyperbole, the pad is more comfortable than my mattress at home. Tested it on some uneven ground with some errant rocks. Still didnt feel anything. It's also nice that this thing doesnt leak. 3 nights in, and it still felt as supportive as when first filled up.Regarding warmth, I mentioned pairing this with a down bag rated to 15°. I got some mid-March camping in over in New York. On the coldest night, it got down to 27°. The amount of loft the pad gives you off the ground is a generous buffer between your body and the cold Earth. I was sufficiently warm that I had to open the bag in the middle of the night, wearing only a t-shirt and hoodie and some sweatpants. I have no doubt whatsoever that if I stretched into 4 season territory and encountered a 20 or 10° night, that I'd be fine. As it's getting toward summer here, our nights can be hot and very muggy. I'm sure I'll be fine with a sheet and just the pad.I've droned on long enough, and can keep singing its praises. I reached out, prior to purchasing, about a discount they were offering, and their customer service was on-point, answering within a couple hours. I really value that in a company. As far as I'm concerned, this is the only pad I will ever buy. I prefer comfort over packweight, and this fits in my Osprey Aether 70 just fine along with bag in its regular stuff sack. The pad really lives up to it's namesake. Comfort and then some! If you're on the fence, go for it! I'm sure you'll agree.
This is the most comfortable pad I have used. I can sleep on my side, back or stomach! The stuff sack doubles to inflate the pad and it's insanely easy and fast. It packs up very quickly in the morning and is very easy to get all the air out in one go. I love this pad. It is a bit wide, so its snug in our 2P backpacking tents but thats what makes it so comfy as well. It's heavier than most pads but that's a trade off I'll make any day. Sleep is so important to me in the backcountry, I'll carry a little extra to be well rested.
This sleeping pad is very comfortable due to its two-layer design. Unlike single chamber models, you can inflate its lower layer to the max and be off the ground/rocks and half-inflate the top layer to have soft comfortable support for your body. It is not squeaky or slippery or noisy like many other models. Its main drawbacks are: weight and packed size. Its size when inflated is awesome - in the luxury range.
