Sea To Summit Lightweight Dry Sack 13 Litre - Yellow

$23.74

(1,053 reviews)

A less expensive and less bulky alternative to traditional dry bags. You can squash these into spots ordinary heavy dry bags won't go. Fits into little corners of a sea kayak or light enough to take backpacking or adventure traveling. Suitable to keep contents dry in any wet situation where the bag is not submerged. PRODUCT DETAILS Lightweight 70D nylon with fully taped seams 10,000mm waterhead, lightweight durable nylon Polyurethane coating with white pigment for greater interior visibility Hypalon roll top closure D-ring attachment point at buckle Round base on all sizes Use backpacking, cycle touring, paddling, general boating Proper Use Any roll-top dry sack must be closed properly to ensure water can't get in. Begin by folding the Hypalon strip down first and be sure to have at least three rolls before closing the buckle. Avoid contact with sharp objects or subjecting the sack to high abrasion, as this could compromise the waterproof fabric. Like all manufacturers of roll-top, fabric dry sacks, Sea to Summit recommends that sensitive electronic devices be 'double bagged' (i.e. putting electronics inside one dry sack then placing this inside a second dry sack). For maximum protection, the use of a waterproof hard case should be considered. Not intended for situations where dry sack will be submerged under water.

Purchased two 2L drybags for my wife and I, to hold our smart phones, wallets, keys etc. We normally store our drybags in the day hatch of our Kayaks. While practicing our rolls, it’s understandable that some water will get into our day hatches. That’s expected. What wasn’t expected was that water got into my drybag, soaking my phone. Jury is still out on whether I’ll be able to get the phone back up and running. If not……$500 gone. After getting home I did a leak test on both bags. Filled them up with water to see if any would leak out. Unfortunately, both leaked like a sieve. These bags are NOT waterproof, as water permeated through the fabric, and not the seams. Totally disappointed with this product. Will not buy another. Intended for light water drizzle, not waterproof

I've owned these bags for a few years and had only used them to wrap bottles of wine or olive oil with bubble wrap when traveling from far away lands. We finally used them while boating recently and were very disappointed when we were surprised to learn that the bags are not waterproof when submerged for any period of time. Our phones were ruined. I believe these bags are only intended to keep items dry if water is splashed on the bags. If at all submerged, your contents will get wet.

Keep Stuff Dry, But A Little Unwieldy To Use

These sacks keep stuff dry, but are awkward to close and "burp" the air out. The clasps are really small and stiff, and very difficult to squeeze and open with warm hands and fingers, nearly impossible with cold hands/fingers or with gloves on. Once they are closed for any length of time, the top closure bands retain the "memory" of the manner in which they were bent to close the sack and are difficult to straighten out and hold together for a tight seal. For the reduced price, these weren't a bad deal, but there are much better dry sacks on the market.

Lightweight Dry Sacks
24 April 2023

These bags are not for me. My nephew is graduating from Special Forces Training in June. I am going to his graduation in June, in North Carolina. I asked him if there was anything I could get him and he mentioned these bags. I decided to get him several different sizes. I am sure they will be put to good use, in his career as a team player in the United States Army, Special Forces.

Nice bag but buckles not so nice.
16 August 2022

I like the light weight of this dry bag. It is a fairly thin material and quite flexible, which makes it easy to insert a rolled down sleeping bag. The problem I had is that the buckles are held in place by a small Philips head pin. (I believe this screws into plastic) After my last trip I found a bucket in the bottom of the boat. The pin had backed itself out. The other screw was also loose. Without a buckle, this would make the bag unusable as a dry bag. It could be repaired but there is nothing to keep this from happening again. I will be returning it.

Really handy but tighten the buckle
6 October 2022

I bought two 20 liter sacs to replace older heavy duty vinyl ones. Much improved. Softer sides makes them easier to pack and white interior easier to find things. Light duty.Only trouble is one buckle came apart. Fortunately I noticed it and could reassemble on river. Tightened both bucks and no problems since.

Ripped after 2 years of light use
4 September 2023

Performed well without issues for 2 years. Always stored in the plastic sleeve it comes packaged in, and used gently (never put sharp objects inside or allowed the bag to be dragged on the ground). I just noticed a small tear (1 cm) appeared, which renders the sack useless. I was expecting this to last significantly longer considering I treat the bag well.

The Big River Dry Bags
31 January 2023

The Big River Dry Bags are perfect for my canoe and kayak trips. SUP's too. They are tough, water tight, durable and the tie down grommets make for a dry secure load. I bought several sizes and like them so much, bought more to give as gifts. Everyone loves them.I also bought several different size Lightweight Dry Sacks, and am just as happy with them. I do a lot of 2- 7 day overnight backpacking trips in Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont. The bags are used constantly.

These are really a fantastic
29 January 2023

These are really a fantastic product. Lightweight, durability proportionate to the weight and field serviceable buckles. I have an assortment of sizes and colors, and have used them for bicycle touring, motorcycle touring, overlanding, kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing and and travel when I have concerns about my gear being exposed to rain or similar moisture.

They have their niche.
13 June 2023

As an expedition style kayak camper i found these incredibly usefull for soft collapsible items like clothes, pillows, and blankets because you can get much more air out giving a longer survical rate without musty mildew odors creeping in your gear because of trapped air. They conform really tight taking up less space in my kakay vs the traditional heavy duty bags. I found these to be a win in my quest for space, weight, and functionality.
