A nice luxury item for wet weather or situations where rough ground might damage your tent footprint. This is real nice for just setting up the canopy and making a cover shelter. We mainly bought this for camping in wet/muddy weather since this goes all the way to the edge of the vestibule and its nice to set your pack on this and keep it dry and clean. This foot print is well designed and tough and I like the eyelets on the ends, makes tent setup super simple.

We purchased the footprint/ground cloth to go with our Telos TRS+ tent. The selling point was the shape of the footprint was to match not just the tent area but also be under the 2 vestibules. With other tents I would just supplement a rectangular groundcloth with 2 pieces of fabric to serve as an added dry place under the vestibutle entrances. The challenge though was the shape of the 6 sided footprint. When laying out the footprint which was the top, sides and bottom. After several rotations, noting which is the short side vs long side of the vestibule areas then I'd eventually figure it out. But all very time consuming. So sort of color coding or arrows indicating top/bottom would be helpful. The 2nd challenge is when setting up the tent and putting the poles in ... So sort of color coding or arrows indicating top/bottom would be helpful. The 2nd challenge is when setting up the tent and putting the poles in the tent receiving holes AND the footprint's rubber grommets that works fine until you want to put the rainfly on. The layering of rubber grommet, tent pole insert into the tent corner hole and then trying to attach the rainfly clip gets to be problematic and difficult. At each corner, to attach the rainfly little "U' clip I had to first detach the tent from the footprint grommet, clip the rainfly onto the tent pole clip and re-insert the tent pole into the footprint rubber grommet. Again, extra time fiddling around. This was a brand new tent with brand new footprint.Yes, we were in rain and snow for 2.5 days but I was very cautious with the ground for the footprint as I was concerned about the durability of the fabric. Unfortunately, being diligent was not enough and a 1 inch tear in the footprint is what we ended our 10 day backcountry trek with. It is always a bit disappointing for gear to come back damaged only after one use. Like automobiles we use our camping gear for many years and expect them to be durable. The footprint is good in concept but be aware that any vestibule dripping due to rain or melting snow onto the footprint may cause the puddling to flow under the tent floor. This was the case after 2.5 days of wet snow. So my past use of a separate small fabric "footprint" under the vestibules worked better as I could pull up that piece of fabric separate from the tent structure and direct any puddles away from the tent.

The available space in the tent exceeded expectations and was very much welcomed. The height inside was also better than I had hoped—another win.The only drawback, for me, is how tight the fit is to pack up the tent in the provided bag, especially with the footprint.

Yes, it's just a footprint, and it does the job. However, it is such a poorly thought out design for the carrying case that I wanted to note it. First, it has velcro as its closure method. I guess Sea to Summit doesn't expect you to put it on the ground, because it's coming up filled with leaves and other debris stuck in it if you do. Second, the case is cut precisely to fit if and only if the footprint is folded back up the way it came from the manufacturer. It wouldn't have killed anyone's back to give an extra millimeter here or there. Because when packing up in the rain, or cold, I feel confident that most people are going to fold it in half, then in half again, and so on. Not try to figure out the 3rd or 5ths or however that thing was packed originally.
Great footprint. Does the job. Mark the corners at the skinny end blue to match the tent and poles. It will make life a little easier. Tough to shove it in tent bag too. Tent is now 4 parts.
First shakedown trip of the year this weekend with this brand new shelter. Tent performed amazing but the footprint not so much. I was hanging my gear up last night and noticed at least 2 tears in the footprint on the first and so far only night I have used it. I hope it did not get my tent floor too but I was beat when I got home. Will fully inspect in a couple days
This is fantastic as it gives a place to crouch or kneel getting in the tent, and helps keeps the dirt from getting in. I'd use the smaller ground cloth when backpacking as the additional weight can be felt, but for car camping it's perfect. It also gives a nice spot from my dog to sleep!
I recently bought the Sea to Summit Telos 2 tent and wanted to protect my investment, so I also purchased the footprint for it. The package is really nice for it and to be honest, I thought that I'd have a hard time getting it back into its pouch, but it folds up nicely and packs down small.I do a lot of backpacking where I sleep on rocks or directly on granite (hello, Sierras), so it was important for me to be able to protect the bottom of the tent. This does the job nicely and is super easy to install with the Telos 2 Tent. I love the fact that I can also keep this attached to the Telos Tent's rainfly if the weather is bad, or just set it up with the fly, without the actual tent for some ground protection and extra shade for a quick rest.I gave it 4 out of 5, ... I love the fact that I can also keep this attached to the Telos Tent's rainfly if the weather is bad, or just set it up with the fly, without the actual tent for some ground protection and extra shade for a quick rest.I gave it 4 out of 5, only because I felt like it needed to be just a tad bit larger. It fits the bottom dimensions of the tent nearly perfectly, but I wish it was just a tad larger. When I was recently camping along California's Lost Coast, and we had wind gusts of 40mph, I noticed that the actual tent would shift just a tad off of the footprint, exposing the edges to the ground below. I was in sand, so wasn't a big deal, but if the ground was harsh or muddy, the tent itself could have been impacted. All in all, I am happy with my purchase.
Upon receiving this tent the first thing I noticed was how neat and compact the three sections of this tent were. The tent, fly and poles are individually bagged but connect together if the need arises to share the load or a quick setup. The tent and footprint were quick and easy to setup with colour coding so you can't go wrong. The tent felt roomy with a very high peak for an ultralight and was very stable in the high winds we experienced(It just doesn't seem to move at all). I have used this tent on three occasions so far and cannot fault it. It impresses me more every time I use it and as a bonus it looks great. Highly recommend.
This is our first lightweight hiking tent that we intend to use for the west coast trail next summer. Have only set it up in the backyard this far but the hardware, geometry and overall thought put into the design. Lots of nifty features, like being able to put up the fly first and then the tent under the fly when it’s raining. Even the stuff sacks can be reused as storage compartments and lamp holders clipped to the inside corners of the tent. Big enough vestibules for backpacks. Overall it should work pretty well.
