Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 Expansion Portable Hard Drive

This product is really worth it! The quality is very good, the appearance is beautiful, the cost-effectiveness is high, the value for money is excellent, and the shopping experience is very satisfying! Strongly recommended to everyone! I'm so lucky to have bought this treasure! The quality is self-evident, the details are handled very well, and it is very easy to use. The logistics are also very fast, and I am very satisfied!

Value For Money:Not worth the price, even waste of money, DO NOT BUY!Performance:This item is FAKE, slow transfer rate, it even gets corrupted after around 120+ GB upon transfer. I did trial and error to check it's limit why it gets corrupted, I thought because of the batch paste, but even after trying to transfer one by one, I noticed that files over 120GB will have most of the files get corrupted, even the old file transferred while some files will vanish at all.Best Feature:The storage size is fake, even after repair, file transfer is slow and your files will get corrupted at all, even some files will be lost at all.PS: I have nothing to say about the seller service and the courier as it is delivered fast and the item is mint upon delivery.

Disappointed! Not as advertised on BestBuy!

Per BestBuy product information, this external drive come with Toolkit backup software. That’s not true!Not only this does not include the Toolkit software, but even if you download and install it from Seagate website, the back up features on App will not work.I even had to contact Seagate technical support and they confirmed that this is not compatible with Toolkit app and suggested to either return and replace it with other models or just drag and drop the files!!

Great Price, Great Product.

Though it's still a bit early in the drive's use I'm impressed with the drive, the speed of it, the 4tb. HDD storage space, the installation, the seller and the seller's customer care re: getting the drive to me prior to the expected delivery date. The price is right, the drive is quiet, aesthetic, compact and seemingly durable. But then again I've only had it for a handful of hours. If anything changes I'll adjust the comments. P.S. The drive got a little hotter than I preferred when it was slaved out and sitting flat on the desktop. I have a pack of those little, clear glue-on "spacers" so I put one in each of the four corners on the bottom of the drive, raising it off of the desktop about a quarter of an inch rather than leaving it sit wholly on the desktop. The airflow underneath the enclosed drive after I put the spacers on each of the drives corners seems to have cured the heat problem tremendously. There's no fan involved, all's self enclosed in the drive but that little bit of space gained by the spacers seems to have done the trick. It's no longer heating up anything like it did shortly after I received it. I run it anywhere from 4-8 or more hours a day and have not had any problems. I've transferred my non-critical files to the drive and am even storing photos, running some games and accessing STEAM, ORIGIN, UPLAY/UBISOFT and other sites with little or no lag. I'm a fan of this drive. It was a great investment from my point of view. I'll be back another day if anything changes on my end.

Not what I expected. It only spins at 5400 rpm.

I typically only use Seagate for my storage and operations in general. With that said, I was a bit disappointed when I just received a communication after my purchase that the hard drive only spins at 5400 rpm versus the 7200 rpm that I would need. So if you are looking for better performance versus simple storage, then this may not be the hard drive for you. But Seagate is still top of the line. I never have any issues with their products. I hope that my review helps someone out there. Great day to everyone.

Portable 2TB HDD...pretty much says it all.

I have so many of these types of drives because I buy them in pairs and use them as clones for data security. I am in video production, so I am often filling them, emptying them into a larger system, and filling them again. I travel and my drives often spend a lot of time in carry cases and are connected/disconnected frequently. I have typically stuck with Seagate with relatively few disappointments considering I probably have accumulated 50+ units over the last 20 odd years and only had a couple eventually stop working after extended use. These little cables aren't expensive and I would recommend having a few extra around if your drives travel a lot. Be smart and backup your data as none of these hard drives are indestructible or infallible. However, these days, they are cheaper than ever...so always buy 2.

Regretting this purchase

worked for around 3 weeks on ps4 and just stopped, read about the fixes and nothing worked. During those weeks the device gave frequent issues and constant repairing of the device. I bought 2 of these and the first is still holding up on a separate ps4 but have gave the exact same issues. On the first ps4 the device had cause one of the games to glitch and never allowed to redownload it again stating i don’t have it. Sometimes it doesn’t allow me to play the games i downloaded on the device and it made my ps4 freeze multiple times (this has never happened before). I thought it was great on initial plug in until shortly after it was causing many issues at random. The great reviews were what made me buy this but i can say i regret it, i would’ve gladly payed more money for a different brand if i knew this device would cause this many issues, possibly corrupting my ps4 for good.

Very good external expansion drive

This 14TB expansion external disk drive Is perfect for my needs. I use it for my system backup destination drive on a Windows 10 computer. Except for this drive, my system has a total of 4 drives. My C: drive is a 1 TB SSD, F: drive is a 2 TB HDD, G: drive is an external 8 TB HDD and R: drive is a 4 TB HDD. That is a total of 15 TB OF SSD/HDD storage. These drives are nowhere near at capacity and have approximately 9 TB used space. So the 14 TB expansion external disk drive has ample space to backup all of my other drives. It interfaces to either a Mac or PC via a USB 3.0 port. When I received the drive, I reformatted the drive to a 14 TB FAT32 from an exFAT32 format with a third party’s tool to do so because Windows 10 disk formatting feature will only format a ... MoreThis 14TB expansion external disk drive Is perfect for my needs. When I received the drive, I reformatted the drive to a 14 TB FAT32 from an exFAT32 format with a third party’s tool to do so because Windows 10 disk formatting feature will only format a drive to a FAT32 format as long as the disk drive capacity is equal to or less than just under 4 TB and the FAT32 format is standard for PCs. The drive is originally formatted to exFAT32 at the factory in order to work with either a Mac or PC right out of the box. I wasn’t going to use the drive with a Mac and so I did what I have described. I’ve performed several full and incremental backups with this drive via USB 3.0 and it has worked flawlessly so far. I have yet to perform a restore from my backups and once I do, I’ll be able to enjoy the performance and versatility of the drive. I recommend this drive to everyone whom are looking to just expand the storage for their system or do backups as I do.
