It works, speed is ok for such a drive. SMART works too, though under Debian I had to switch the driver from uas to usb-storage for this to function. SMART under Windows (eg CrystalDiskInfo) works without fiddling around.

Seagate is a big name, they make good and reliable hard disk. This external hard disk is good for backup purpose, save all the important data onto it. It's on USB 3.0, running fast. It's a very handy device to backup your data. Highly recommended... Bad things may happen, always backup your data.

I haven't used the product long enough to give it 5 stars but it appears well made and does what it is supposed to do and what I bought it for. Simple plug and play installation makes for ease of use. The product arrived well packaged and in good time and having compared what I was looking for I am satisfied with the pricing. As things stand at the moment and when the need arises i would shop with CCL again.

A very affordable storage solution. Not as fast as SDD but you would not notice the difference under normal use. I use it for backups and storing a large number of phoyographs that were clogging up my PC's hard drive. Excellent value for money.

A Solid Back Up High Capacity Drive

This competitvely priced 3 TByte external drive is speedy by virtue of the USB3 port, which also supplies power to the device. The sort of performance you would expect of a Segate device. As I have only had the devce a couple of weeks, I cannot comment on the long term reliability.

HUGE MEMORY BUT SIMPLE TO USE OFF USB POWER AND COMPACT

I wanted a compact, no frills external hard drive that could run on USB and does not require mains power. This Seagate drive fits my requirements perfectly (in fact I have since bought a second one). It's so simple to use too. Years ago I bought a Seagate drive and it's worked perfectly so I trusted this brand.

Cons: I bought it for my daughter to download her photographs from her iPhone to the Portable hard drive. It is extremely slow. It has working every evening for two weeks! It is getting there slowly!Maybe I bought the wrong drive. There may be a better one out there.

Money saver and more space on your Laptop.

Well I have 5, so it must be a good Product. When I go to Africa, I always take at least one Seagate with me, to save Wild Animal's and other photographs on instead of using my Computer storage space.

OK for large storage but has draw backs compared to 2TB versions

great for major storage, but a bit temperamental, not as stable as 2TB versions that l have had for years, sometimes throws wobbly on large transfer files like videos, blue screens you, and needs reboot to connect it ag so really needs to be connected all the time. May well work better on a modern computer, mines 7 years old, but great and no problems. hindsight should have brought two of the 2TB version's, never had any problems with those they are brilliant

Pros: Does exactly what it says on the box. Plug into usb and drag and drop files. No additional setup required.Cons: This cheaper version is only setup for PC use you would need to configure if you want to use on a Mac. That said there is a slightly more expensive version that can store both formats, so pay your money and make your choice. Overall excellent product for price.
