Compact, Good Plug, Minimal Bloat

External drives have very little frills needed. It's one of the largest you can find in market. It's a nice compact size, and clean design. The plug that came with it also comes with prong adapters for multiple regions (very handy for me as a traveler). It's not especially fast (I'm backing up NVME drives, so its definitely the weak link), but I was able to transfer 8TB in about 14 hours.I haven't bothered to test the "hub" ports, because I have a proper hub already. Might be useful to plug in an SD Card reader, but I'd rather it be a direct SD card slot like my WD passport pro drive.Elkjop was the quickest option for having it shipped (about 5 days faster than the guys with "K" name).

Does not power on consistently

Do not buy this drive. It has never worked properly for me. I never know when it is going to power on and when it isn't. The troubleshooting on their website suggests a whole bunch of things to do if the drive won't power on and show up on your computer. I've tried them all. There is no rhyme or reason as to when the drive will work. And why should I have to try all of those things when every other external drive I own just works. Why should I have to try different outlets, different computers, different hubs. I won't buy a Seagate product again.

I made the mistake of doing so, purchasing this product from Amazon in September of 2022. Within three months of purchase, the drive failed, rendering the data stored inaccessible. Seagate was good enough to recover the data for free (no include mailing costs) and also provide an additional equivalent hard drive to act as a backup. Within two months of the return of the recovered data, though, the new hard drive (which, as it turns out, was not new at all; it was refurbished) also failed. Great Value
30 August 2023

I didn't think I'd love this drive as much as do. It takes the pain and worry out of backing things up. You set it up and forget it basically. I personally just went with the file mirroring option for my laptop. Just another spot to keep everything safe. I also plug in my phone into the front slot and can pick and choose the pictures to upload. The same with my pictures on my Fujifilm camera, I just plug the my own sd card reader, be it type C or usb, you just plug it in and transfer everything to make a copy. Makes everything very convenient.

Great external hard drive
30 August 2023

The Seagate One Touch Hub 4TB External Hard Drive is a great storage solution that offers a balance of capacity and functionality. Its sleek black design seamlessly blends with any setup. With both USB-C and USB 3.0 connectivity options anddata transfer speeds are. The added perk of Rescue Data Recovery Services adds an extra layer of security, giving you peace of mind in case of accidental data loss. One item to note, its performance might lag slightly compared to more premium models, but considering its capacity and features, it offers great value for users seeking dependable storage.

Hub Works Great, Software Not So Much
10 August 2023

I got this about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the size and design of the unit. Its sleek and has feet so it can be laid flat or on its side. It includes two cables one for data, and one for power (I'm not a big fan of a separate power brick, but I understand why its needed). After plugging it in I setup the toolkit that was included and setup a backup weekly. I will not comment on the software because my experience may have been a fringe case. It was not a good experience. After uninstalling the software and reformatting the drive, it worked perfectly. It was fast, easy to write too, and I could setup an auto backup in windows to it. Definitely a good fast drive with a built in hub.I would suggest this as long as you stay away from the seagate ... MoreI got this about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised by the size and design of the unit. Ridiculous Amount of Storage, Okay Speeds
11 March 2022

This is a sleek looking, relatively quiet external hard drive that has ample amounts of storage to back up all of your main drives.Using the included cable, I plugged this into the USB 3 port on my PC and the drive was immediately recognized. It does have a "Start here" file on it that basically registers the product and tries to get you to install Seagate's backup/file system. I used my own backup software for this drive and generally reached speeds in the 260-290 Mbps range, though it did bog down to about 100 Mbps after an hour. I can't totally blame that on the drive as it may be my software since the drive was sustaining higher speeds for quite some time. The drive sounds like a quiet PC fan running. You can barely hear it over ambient noise unless you're ... MoreThis is a sleek looking, relatively quiet external hard drive that has ample amounts of storage to back up all of your main drives.Using the included cable, I plugged this into the USB 3 port on my PC and the drive was immediately recognized. You can barely hear it over ambient noise unless you're two feet away from it or really searching for it audibly. The box contains the drive, a fat wall power adapter (with a bunch of plugs for many different regions), and a USB-A male cable to plug into your PC. The drive also has a USB-C port, but no cable is supplied. For looks, it's simple with clean lines and a single, small, white LED on the front for status-- so this won't be lighting up your bedroom and night if you're using it there. For the price point and insane amount of storage, I think this is a good value. It's nothing super fancy or an SSD with ridiculous speeds, but it is a good looking drive that has so far performed admirably. I think it's a solid 4 out of 5 stars. it works great for me as another backup drive that backup a few times a year and store in a separate location from my PC in the event of a fire, theft, etc.

Was promising until I started causing issues
30 April 2024

It can store data but I personally had an issue were it caused my PC to not shut down correctly and made the PC enter in a bootup loop until I hard restarted the PC and unplugged the storage hub, this happened twice and caused too much stress for me to want to deal with it. I looked for others having similar issues online but found no results. The Toolkit software it came with worked fine initially but the day after was having slowdown and the file explorer was slowed down until I restarted and unplugged it. Overall, the hub was not worth my time compared to just buying more Seagate portable drives which have served me well for 3+ years with no issues like this one did.

Next, I create a mirror folder on my PC sync to my new storage device. This was so that whenever I add, delete, or edit files in one folder, Toolkit automatically updates the other folder with my changes.I have been using my One touch for about 2 weeks with no issues. I am happy with speed of both the writing and reading of information from the drive. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for some extra space to securely store your information.
