Got this as an xmas gift because my internal hard drive was filling up and I didn't want to have to deal with transferring stuff between my slower external drive and the SSD, and I hate deleting games only to have to download them again later for the new season or whatever.There's not a lot to it. Plug it into the dedicated slot in the back of the Series X and it's good to go. The drive is instantly recognized.You don’t get a full 2TB, it’s close to 1.8 TB with partitions and software installed.You can play directly from the drive all games up to and including Xbox S/X games. Which you cannot do from an external drive.The cost is expensive but the performance is incredible. Since Seagate is the only manufacturer of this type of expansion expect the cost to stay high.Would recommend if budget allows and you need more space

Pros: This thing is fast - there's next to no difference between this and the Xbox Series S's internal SSD in terms of data transfer rates, and copying or moving files between the two of them was blindingly fast (like 6Gb/s fast). It knocked the socks off the old USB 3.0 external SSD I had before (which the Xbox had complained about when I had tried to install a new game on it).Cons: You pay a premium for this device. To a certain degree it's a case of "you get what you pay for," and there's no question about it: this product is very good, if not essential for the latest gen Xbox consoles. But to some degree it feels as if you're paying extra for the proprietary interface and Seagate's exclusive use of the Xbox brand on the device.

Then you will learn that the hardest part of making things happen is turning your unit. After that, your Xbox tries to keep it a secret. I do think this is a good product and it does work flawlessly in the Xbox Series X and S. I put no on the "Good Value" because I do believe it is a little high at it's current price, but it is a new product and could come down in price which is pretty much controlled by Microsoft. It is good quality with seamless plug & play in my Xbox series S. I purchased the 1 TB model and have relegated it to holding my XB apps and games that are reverse compatible & XB One games. The games work just as if you had them on the hard drive with no difference in performance I can see. Plus it saves time if you were storing your games on a external hard drive that you would have to move onto the system to play.

Any way the series s only has 364GB of space available, it's not much space for X/S games. I have 7 X/S games installed in the internal and it's almost full. A 1TB and 2TB cost a lot of money and this one is the cheapest at $140.00. It only has 456GB of usable space so I should be able to install about 10 X/S games on it depending on the size of the games.
