This scooter is very fast but you can slow it done with eco mode which makes it safe for beginners. I am very satisfied with my scooter and I know that this is the best one on the market by far. It fits in my sedan trunk with no issues. The only part that I dislike is the weight of the scooter it is kind of heavy but I have gotten used to it and everything about this scooter will make you not even care about the weight anymore. I am a woman and I put it in my car easily now. Thank you Segway!

Amazing and upgradable!

Segway definitely knows what they were doing with this unit. Here are some great features it has and why they're so important.- solid tires: there is no worry about flats because it's not a pneumatic tire. The material is rounded to gain excellent purchase of the road and even on tight turns (I know because I've done some unexpected sharp turns). Thanks to the suspension the ride is great and feels smooth.- solid construction: when going upwards of 18 mph the last thing you want is any play in the frame. It's extremely solid with zero wiggle.- lighting: there is RGB deck lighting, active brake, and bright headlamp...it's gorgeous and safe. A poor system is dangerous and thankfully this unit is pristine.Here's my favorite part!Upgradeable battery! - so you can grow into the scooter not just grow out of it. Segway offers a secondary battery that mounts on the bar and is set up in five minutes (youtube it). What does it do? Not only does it give roughly double the range but when charged properly will now have them run in series and gives added power as well. Expect the unit to go into 20 - 22mph range and attack inclines even better.And just like that you've literally converted it from an ES2 to an ES4!This is a great purchase and one you'll be happy with!

I've ridden it for about 1 month in NYC. I love everything about it, except sometimes when I push the accelerator, nothing happens. I have not called tech support yet. It may be a minor issue or it may be systemic. It handles bumps and potholes pretty well, but they can be a little jarring (hey, I am not driving a 1980 Lincoln Continental). The top speed of the scooter with the second battery is a consistent 18mph. I weigh about 160 including a backpack.

Great scooter for the few hours it worked

Scooter arrived in under a week and in great shape, with less than 10km on it. Visually indistinguishable from a new model aside from the bent pages in the included manual. Charged the scooter up for a few hours to 100% and took it our for an hour or so without any issues. Got home and plugged it in and it started charging. Next day it was still at 60% and refused to charge after that. Segway set up an RMA so I'm in the process of returning the scooter. Unfortunately, I had already turned over the box to the recycler - so I'm out of pocket for return packaging. Hopefully the next one is a bit more reliable. Great small scooter if you don't get a dud. I'll update here if there are any issues with the RMA process.

Happy with it so far!

We bought this for our oldest daughter for Christmas. This thing really goes fast!! So far our only con is that we live on a paved road and you can feel all the teeny rocks. It vibrates your whole body. It was annoying to my but my husband (6 feet tall 230 lbs) and daughter zips around on it with ease. The whole bluetooth and technology that goes with the scooter is really a huge plus for us. Our daughter loves that phone and she can sync her phone and scooter. (If you’re not looking to spend as much, the Hover -1 Aviator was also a good purchase for one of our other daughters. It doesn’t sync but is pretty fast too. )Overall, we’re pleased with this!! If anything changes, I’ll write an updated review.

Honest Review (Defective Product)

I was waiting for 3 weeks for the scooter to come. After opening the box, I assembled the whole thing. After assembly, I turned it on but it wouldn't turn on. I figured that I just needed to charge it so I waited for 5 more hours. After 5 hours the thing still wouldn't work. I even checked the wiring multiple times. I then decided to return the product.I read just read the reviews of this scooter after I bought it. Turns out that other people also had the same experience as mine. The production team should have tested before they sell the product to have good customer satisfaction. The company would lose more customers if this continues to happen. Future customers would probably buy again if they fix their production team.

It is OK for light ride, doesn't feel safe overall

I give this a 3.5 star for a couple of reasons.Good things: The unit is quite handy and easy to use. The charge comes for about 11 miles.Bad things: No physical brakes and the electric brakes doesn't make you feel safe.Most annoying part is that the accelerator gets jammed. It is a well known problem because there is a page in Ninebot Support dedicated to this. You will have to push the accelerator up to stop the device from accelerating and this is really dangerous. The warranty covers the accelerator knob for only 180 days.

Put nearly 200 miles on this over the last year, super glad to have purchased this last year. This here can be rough on bumps / uneven terrain so be prepared for that, but glides like a dream on smooth paved surfaces. Design of the Thumb Throttle / Brake is convenient, mechanical brake on the rear wheel is nice to have. I'd recommend users tune regenerative braking down in the app to prevent scooter from losing as much speed when you release the throttle.Reading other reviews i'm compelled to point out the display lists kph by default; this thing goes up to 25 kph / 15 mph (rider is 165 lb 6') - plenty fast if you're new to these, though like me you might find yourself wanting something a bit zippier, and with a better suspension / pneumatic tires. PERFECT FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS & A sustainable choice. I love the white color which makes it more unique than regular grey or black scooters. Drives so smooth... ( you will definitely feel safer riding this scooter than those rent scooters on streets.. you definitely have more control). It does not go very far so you might need external battery....but the external battery would add weight to the scooter. My only concern is you might be walking around public places like clothing stores, restaurants, etc... I wish it was safer to put it outside locked...but I don't trust public spots because this is expensive purchase. But again, I can easily put it aside in my college class or a friends house. Ultra light fast scooter but poor design

I really enjoyed this scooter at first as it hit all my pro's; it was very light in weight, enough mileage for my daily commute, fast charge and as a bonus some really rad led lights underneath that can be customized in many different patterns and colors.The scooter has quick pick up and the cruise control feature is convenient in open space. The ride is on this scooter is not smooth, every little bump or crack on sidewalk or road will be felt. Within 90 seconds of riding the Bluetooth disconnects every time making the app useless in tracking millage, speed but most importantly tracking your current ride.After all those negatives i was still going to give this scooter 4 stars as it really is one of the better scooters in this price range but as soon as my return window ended all the led lights underneath the scooter stopped working. After inspecting, there is no protection for these tiny leds (theres 30-50 leds) from bumps and i assume that might be the reason my lights no longer work. After further inspection i noticed the light wires are no protected, they are just exposed - how can a scooter have exposed wiring underneath the scooter board? A small puddle or hitting a pebble can totally destroy the entire led system WOW! Very disappointing that the coolest feature of this scooter broke a few weeks after return window ended
